— Edge is no longer advertised for tonight’s SmackDown taping in Dayton, Ohio and the Oct. 2 Hell in a Cell pay-per-view in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Edge had been listed on both venue websites for special appearances as recently as last week.

— An official Facebook page for Kelly Kelly has been launched at facebook.com/BarbieBlankOfficialPage. All other accounts are fake.

— Rosa Mendes, who has not competed since the July 29 episode of SmackDown, stated on Twitter that she will be on hand for tonight’s taping in Dayton, Ohio.

— WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels is in Canada’s Yukon Territory this week filming episodes for MacMillan River Adventures on the Outdoor Channel. Part two of his gator hunting experience with Triple H airs tonight at 11:30 p.m.

Former WWE and TNA star Matt Hardy announced on Monday that he’s going to rehab (VIDEO), but it’s been revealed today that he was arrested once again last week (9/14) after his home was raided and illegal drugs were found. According to a release today from the Moore County Sheriff’s Office, Hardy  has been charged with:

  • Possessing a controlled substance with intent to sell or deliver
  • Possessing a controlled substance
  • Maintaining a drug dwelling and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia

The search at Hardy’s home on Sept. 14 turned up 20 vials of anabolic steroids, the drug MDMA (Ecstasy) and $1,961 in cash. Hardy was released today on a written promise to appear in Moore County court on Thursday.

In case you are losing track of all Matt Hardy’s arrests, this is the third time Matt Hardy has been arrested in less than a month.

Hardy has court dates scheduled for 9/28 in Moore County (the Driving While Impaired charge that led to his TNA dismissal), 9/29 in Moore County in regard to these new drug charges, a 10/11 court date in Wake County, NC (reckless driving charges), and 11/30 also in Wake County, NC for the Driving Under the Influence charge after being arrested at the Raleigh Durham International airport.

TNA star Hulk Hogan has posted a message on Twitter that spoils a future TNA storyline.

Hogan announced at last week’s Impact tapings from Orlando that he’s retiring and he’d give more information at TNA’s next Impact taping from Knoxville, Tennesse, which takes place tomorrow night.

Hogan tweeted the following on Tuesday, revealing exactly what will be going down in Knoxville:

“Pumped up for the IMPACT tapings in Knoxville tomorrow,the formal ending to my long career,thanks maniacs. HH”

“Huge celebration in Knoxville tomorrow at Civic Collesium ,all full time maniacs are invited,time to thank everyone and say goodbye. HH”

Hogan had been scheduled to wrestle Sting at Bound For Glory in a match that’s been planned for over a year. That match will no longer take place as a singles match, as it’s been discussed that at least one more person will be added to the match or it will be come a tag match.

Matt Hardy Thanks People For Their Overwhelming Support

Former WWE & TNA star Matt Hardy announced on Monday night that he’s made the decision to enter WWE-sponsored rehab.

Since then, there’s been an outpouring of support from many of Matt’s former colleagues, including Mick Foley, who have tweeted their well wishes to him.

Hardy released the following statement on Monday night, thanking people for their “overwhelmingly positive” support:

“Thx to everyone that’s been so OVERWHELMINGLY positive about my decision to seek treatment. It means the World to me-love you all! Godspeed.

I also want to thank my beautiful, intelligent, and strong-willed girlfriend @RebySky for helping me through this crazy time. I couldn’t have done it without you baby. Tonight I made a promise to you that I’ll never break. Sorry for being so hurtful in our disagreement tonight, you were right, & I was wrong. You have my heart. And when this period of my life is finished, I SWEAR I’m gonna do everything in my power to make sure you have the greatest life possible. A life that a amazing lady like you deserves. Punk Talks About Austin-WM28, Triple H’s UFC Comments

CM Punk appeared on the 100th episode of the popular MMA Hour radio show with Ariel Helwani this week. Punk spoke about a number of topics, including Triple H’s recent remarks that UFC needs to evolve to compete with WWE, not the other way around.

Punk called Triple H’s opinion “absolutely insane” and said every business needs to evolve or they will die. Punk admitted that professional wrestling has a lot of changes that need to be made in order for the product to be as good as it can be.

Punk said he has spoken with Triple many times about MMA and says Triple H “just doesn’t get it.” Punk added that Triple H doesn’t watch MMA shows and is missing the big picture – that UFC is indeed evolving. Punk also talked about how WWE’s corporate policy of refusing to acknowledge UFC as competition is “ridiculous.”

When asked about how MMA does and should influence wrestling, Punk said he would like to see less run-ins, more clean finishes and for wins and losses to matter more.

Punk also spoke about WrestleMania 28, saying that “Stone Cold” Steve Austin is the man he wants to wrestle.

Jerry Lawler Injured By Mark Henry On RAW

On Monday’s RAW, Jim Ross interviewed new World Heavyweight champion Mark Henry. Henry said Ross was one of the haters who questioned whether he could ever win “the big one” and got physical with the Hall of Famer. Ross’ longtime partner in crime Jerry Lawler entered the ring and got Henry off JR, but then Henry’s attention (and anger) were turned on the King. After a brief physical exchange, Herny got the best of Lawler and brutally attacked him. After a devastating powerslam in the ring, Henry took Lawler outside and gave him another slam through the announcers table.

According to WWE sources, Lawler was legitimately by Henry’s World’s Strongest Slam through the table. The table reportedly did not give way as expected and Lawler’s back was in “extreme pain.” Lawler was taken to a local hospital via ambulance to be checked out by doctors.

UPDATE:  Jim Ross (@JRsBBQ) just tweeted the following about Jerry Lawler’s condition:

“Many asking about King. I’ll respect his privacy but don’t expect to see him in KC for Raw. Hope I’m wrong. He’s gonna be sore 4 days.”

What Happened After RAW, Hornswoggle & The Muppets

– After Monday’s RAW Supershow from Cleveland went off the air, the advertised dark match main event between John Cena, CM Punk and Alberto Del Rio took place. Cena defeated both men in a triple threat match to retain the WWE championship after nailing Del Rio with an Attitude Adjustment and getting the pin.

After the match, and Punk stared each other down. When it looked like they were about to go at it, Punk raised Cena’s hand and they posed for fans and signed autographs to close the show.

– As we reported on Monday, Disney’s Muppets will be guest starring on the October 31st Halloween edition of WWE RAW. WWE’s resident muppet, Hornswoggle, is petitioning fans to help him get on the show. Horny tweeted:

“If I were to be at the Halloween Raw with @MuppetsStudio it would be a total dream come true. Make it happen WWE Universe!!! #swoggleatmuppetsraw”

WWE Announces The Releases Of Miz & R-Truth

As we saw on Monday’s RAW, Triple H fired The Miz and R-Truth .. The WWE website releases a statement wishing them the best in their future endeavors:

“WWE has come to terms on the release of The Miz and R-Truth as of today, Sept. 19, 2011. WWE wishes Miz and R-Truth the best in all of their future endeavors.”

Clearly, this is a storyline .. What do you guys think about these “releases” ?

Later in the show, Triple H was attacked by The Miz and R-Truth backstage, only to be thrown out of the building by the WWE locker room.

UPDATE: R-Truth tweeted the following on Tuesday morning:

“Just wanted to say thank you to all my fans for their support,I don’t tweet much,but would have thanked you sooner, They threw us out,wouldn’t let us in,.. the security for the arena let us in thismorning to get our bags,phone,etc..”

Referee Sidelined With Injured Ribs, SmackDown Rating Sinks

— WWE referee Scott Armstrong underwent X-rays this morning for what he believed could be a broken, cracked or bruised rib after taking an errant kick from R-Truth during the CM Punk vs. Triple H match at Night of Champions. He later indicated on Twitter that he would be sidelined for a few weeks.

“No RAW OR SMACKDOWN for me for a couple of weeks anyway. Thanks To Miz and Truth!#a$$hol%s,” Armstrong wrote.

— The September 16 episode of WWE SmackDown featuring the return of “The Cutting Edge” garnered a 1.78 cable rating, down from 1.9 rating the week before.

SmackDown averaged 2.61 million viewers, down ten percent from the previous week’s score of 2.91 million viewers.

On cable television Friday night, SmackDown ranked twelfth in overall viewers

Matt Hardy has posted a new YouTube video with his “major announcement” – which is that he’s going to rehab for 3 months, courtesy of WWE. He also announced that when he gets out, he plans to open a wrestling school to give back to the industry he loves.

As difficult as it has been to watch this talented performer unravel in front of our eyes over the past few years, Hardy’s announcement is hopefully a turning point in his life and the start of a new beginning for him.

Update On Kevin Nash Possibly Injured At Night Of Champions

Earlier today, we reported that it appeared Kevin Nash was injured at Sunday’s Night of Champions pay-per-view. After taking a sledgehammer shot to the head by Triple H during the Triple H vs. CM Punk main event, a WWE official checked on Nash and did the “X” hand sign over his head – indicating a legitimate injury.

After speaking with a relable WWE source, Nash is said to be fine and was just selling the sledgehammer shot.

Kevin Nash will not be on RAW tonight and instead is headed to Los Angeles, California today to begin filming for movie “Magic Mike.”

The sledgehammer shot that Nash took from Triple H last night will be the explanation given by WWE as to why Nash won’t be on tonight’s RAW from Cleveland, Ohio.

Linda’s Senate Run Official, Edge Awards Wrestling Scholarship

— It’s been rumored for quite some time and now it’s official, former WWE CEO Linda McMahon will announce Tuesday that she’s once again running for United States Senate next year. The announcement will be made Tuesday morning from the Coil Pro factory in Connecticut.

“I am running for Senate to help give entrepreneurs like Jeff the legislative support they need to succeed,” McMahon said. “If we are going to get our economy growing again, government needs to be a partner, not an adversary to job creators. We need to send to Washington people who know how the economy works, who know how job creators think, who have created jobs and who have had to deal with the real-world consequences of the taxes and regulations Congress passes. You don’t fix the problems in Washington by sending back the same people who created them. I’m a job creator, I’m not a politician.”

Reby Sky Denies Being Arrested For Reckless Driving

Matt Hardy’s girlfriend Reby Sky (real name Rebecca Reyes) has responded to online reports that she was recently arrested and charged with reckless driving. Sky tweeted on Monday afternoon @RebySky:

“So now there’s a rumor that I was arrested this week?” she wrote. “Hold on, let me double check… No.

“I got a speeding ticket rushing to the hospital to get Matt earlier this week. That’s it. God, you people are insane.”

The original story in the Wrestling Globe Newsletter stated that she was arrested on charges of reckless driving, reckless endangering, and speeding.

The North Carolina court system website states that Rebecca Reyes was charged with reckless driving to endanger and speeding. She is due in court on November 2nd.


Matt Hardy’s Girlfriend Reby Sky Arrested For Reckless Driving

Rebecca Reyes (a/k/a Reby Sky), the 25-year-old girlfriend of Matt Hardy, was recently arrested and charged with reckless driving, reckless endangering, and speeding charges.

Reyes, who hosts Lucha Libre USA on MTV2, is scheduled to appear in court on November 2 in Carthage, North Carolina.

This is not the former Playboy model’s first run-in with the law as in 2008, she was sentenced to 12 months’ probation, a $500 fine and 48 hours of community service after resisting arrest when she was pulled over for a broken tail light in December 2007 in Tampa, Florida. While the officer was writing her ticket, Reyes got out of her truck, and refused to get back in when asked, instead allegedly accosting the officer who had pulled her over and another that had arrived on the scene. When Reyes attempted to turn the confrontation physical, she was thrown to the ground and arrested.

RAW SuperShow Preview For Tonight Starring Hugh Jackman

Tonight’s WWE RAW Supershow will take place from the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio.

Hollywood star (“Wolverine”) Hugh Jackman will be the guest host of tonight’s RAW, which will of course feature fallout from Sunday’s Night of Champions. With WWE’s next pay-per-view, Hell in a Cell, only 2 weeks away, the company has no time to waste building towards that show.

SmackDown stars advertised for tonight’s show include new World Heavyweight champion Mark Henry, Randy Orton, Daniel Bryan, Sin Cara, Wade Barrett, Sheamus, Christian and Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes.

The dark match main event that’s being advertised locally locally is a 3-way match between John Cena,  CM Punk and Alberto Del Rio.

The Muppets Appearing On WWE RAW On Halloween

WWE has announced that Disney’s “The Muppets” (Kermit The Frog, Miss Piggy and the whole gang) will be appearing on the October 31st episode of Monday Night RAW .. Here’s the official statement from WWE:

To celebrate their first theatrical release in more than a decade – Disney’s “The Muppets,” opening this Thanksgiving – the Muppets will step into the ring on the Oct. 31 WWE Raw SuperShow to mix it up with the Superstars in Atlanta.

In the new film, “The Muppets,” the crew is on a mission to save the Muppet Theater from demolition. But before that, they’ll have to save themselves from our Superstars!

What will happen when Kermit the Frog meets The Viper? Will the Divas make Miss Piggy flip with jealousy? Will Beaker be confused for Sheamus? On Halloween, it’s time to play the music, it’s time to light the lights, because the Muppets are about to get Raw!

Update On 20-Year-Old UK Diva Britani Knight Starting With WWE

British wrestling diva Britani Knight is reportedly finishing up her independent bookings and is headed to Florida Championship Wrestling soon under her WWE developmental deal. She will be appearing at the SHIMMER tapings in early October.

Knight has received several WWE tryouts, including one last November and one in April, when WWE was touring the United Kingdom. It was reported by the Diva Dirt website back in April that Knight had signed a developmental deal at that time, but she released a statement online denying that report.

Britani, known as “The Norfolk Doll”, comes from a famous wrestling family in the UK known as “The Knight Dynasty.” Her brother Zak has also received several WWE tryouts, but no word yet on whether he will get signed.

WWE Studios Interested In Gina Carano, But Not CM Punk?

WWE Studios held a focus group session yesterday in Buffalo, New York prior to Night of Champions. The group screened footage of the upcoming John Cena film The Reunion and were subsequently asked for feedback. The group was also asked to fill out a survey.

* One question listed the bulk of the WWE roster and asked participants to place a check mark next to the names of Superstars he or she would like to see in an upcoming film. Despite his recent rants of not being promoted enough by WWE, CM Punk was noticeably absent from the ballot.

* Mixed martial arts fighter Gina Carano was listed on the survey three times. The survey asked participants if her name was recognizable and if he or she would want to see her in an upcoming WWE Studios film.

* Those attending the focus group session were paid $20.

– With TNA’s Bound For Glory event less than a month away on October 16th, the decision has been made within TNA to push Kurt Angle’s World title defense against Robert Roode as the main event of the show.

– As for the Hulk Hogan vs. Sting match, some people in TNA are disappointed that the singles match won’t happen, as it’s been anticipated for well over a year now. There’s still no word yet on what the stipulation will be or who the third participant will be.

– TNA executive Eric Bischoff is said to have gained more power in TNA in recent months due to his very strong relationship with Spike TV. Some people in the company feel that Bischoff’s relationship with Spike is stronger than Dixie Carter’s.

– Last week’s episode of Impact Wrestling had only 39 minutes of actual wrestling, according to reader Stan.

— John Cena has now held the WWE Championship a record ten times following his victory over Alberto Del Rio last night at Night of Champions. He is followed by Triple H, who held the WWE Championship on eight occasions.

— WWE’s upcoming Steve Austin video release has been titled Stone Cold Steve Austin: Bottom Line on the Most Popular Superstar of WWE. The title will be be released on DVD and Blu-ray in November.

— WWE will be holding a Raw and Smackdown Supershow at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, Long Island, New York on Saturday, December 17, 2011. Bell time is 7:30 p.m.

— WWE Hall of Famer Gerald Brisco turns 65 years old today.

The WWE website has posted three backstage videos that were filmed at Sunday’s Night of Champions pay-per-view:

– Former WWE champion Alberto Del Rio was seen backstage arguing with his personal ring announcer Ricardo Rodriguez after his title loss to John Cena. WWE cameras “snuck up” on Del Rio, who slapped Ricardo before “realizing” the camera was there.  The video can be viewed here.

– WWE diva Beth Phoenix was also interviewed following her second Divas Title match loss to Kelly Kelly. , Beth Phoenix cut a promo hinting she will remain in the title picture, with Natalya also adding her two cents. That video can be seen here. here.

– Awesome Truth (The Miz and R-Truth) came up short at Night of Champions in their tag title match against Air Boom and said they’ve got a  conspiracy list and whoever is on it, is going to get got. Check out that video here.

Night Of Champions Live Notes, Paul Heyman Comments

– Several fans noted that security confiscated a lot of signs from the audience.

– WWE referred John Laurinaitis as Mr. Future Endeavors for the first time last night at Night of Champions. As previously reported, WWE recently trademarked several variations of the “Mr. Future Endeavors” name – a reference to the statement posted on the company website when talent is released.

– After Beth Phoenix lost to Kelly Kelly in her hometown (Buffalo), there was a huge “bullshit” chant from the crowd for over a minute.

– Paul Heyman wrote the following on Twitter last night after the Night of Champions main event:

“I had to flip from watching Inglourious Basterds to see HHH vs CM Punk. Fill in your own punch line for that one, folks! I thought they (and all the others involved) put on one helluva show. It took 3 Pedigrees and a Jack Knife to beat Punk. I know a lot of people are pissed Punk got pinned, but if you’re going to get beat, isn’t that the way to do it? As with everyone else, it’s all in the follow-up (right, TNA?) … let’s see what they do tomorrow night on #Raw. Hey, I hashtagged #Raw! Ah, it’s only been almost 5 years since I left. Maybe I’ve mellowed just a little. Nah!”

Kevin Nash Reportedly Injured At Night Of Champions

As we reported here last week, Kevin Nash made a surprise appearance at WWE’s Night of Champions pay-per-view.

After Triple H attacked Kevin Nash with a sledgehammer, Michael Cole (who had lost his voice at that point) was seen writing something on a piece of paper and showing it to Jerry Lawler. Lawler then showed the paper to members of the WWE crew who then ran to the backstage area.

Following the main event, Nash remained on the floor until a member of the WWE crew came down to check on him. They did the “X” symbol and other officials came over to check on Nash, who eventually got to his feet and has helped to the back by officials.

Nash has been injury prone in recent years and many in the company had doubts as to whether he was able to compete in a full match and remain healthy.

We’ll be following up on this story and hope to have an update later this week.
