Graham Wants To Beat Up Jericho, Wants Out Of WWE HOF

15

“Superstar” Billy Graham stated in an interview with the Ottawa Sun that he wants out of the WWE Hall of Fame. The former wrestling star, now 67, is demanding he be removed from their list of inductees because he is appalled at the inclusion of Abdullah the Butcher.

“It is a shameless organization to induct a bloodthirsty animal such as Abdullah The Butcher into their worthless and embarrassing Hall of Fame and I want the name of Superstar Billy Graham to be no part of it. WWE and their Hall of Fame is disgustingly embarrassing, I want out,” Graham said.

Graham, who was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2004, sold his ring on eBay two years ago.

Graham is also upset with Jericho, who, in his book, Undisputed: How to Become the World Champion in 1,372 Easy Steps, took issue with comments made by the WWE Hall of Famer following Chris Benoit’s double murder suicide.

“Jericho, you have made a huge mistake. You call me an egotistical idiot. If you walked by right now, I would beat the living hell out of you, then spit on your grave for trying to destroy my reputation in your phony little book,” Graham said.

When contacted for a response, Jericho said: “God bless him and best of luck in all he does in the future.”

Randy Orton’s First Movie Reviewed, Cena-WM28 & More

7

– The Hollywood Reporter has posted a review of the latest WWE Studios film That’s What I Am, starring Ed Harris & Amy Madigan, and featuring Randy Orton in a supporting role. Regarding Orton’s big screen debut, THR wrote:

“The film was produced by WWE Studios, which explains the casting of third-generation wrestling personality Orton in a decent acting debut as Carl’s manipulative dad. That this meathead is such an able negotiator, even with someone as sharp as Madigan’s principal, stretches plausibility. Too often, Pavone’s screenplay slaps contemporary perspective onto characters whose behavior doesn’t seem entirely true to their time.”

– John Cena wrote the following on Twitter over the weekend regarding his announced match against The Rock at next year’s WrestleMania:

“CeNation. This is a new year. From 26 to 27 wasn’t exactly a banner year. Which means it time to dominate the whole f+cking game. NEVER GIVE UP. Miz. Id watch yourself if I were you. It may not be tomorrow …but u will NOT defeat me again.”

– WWE reached a milestone on Facebook this weekend – as the company’s official fan page has over 5 million “likes.” Less than 50 companies have that many fans “liking” them on Facebook.

5 million followers .. big friggin’ deal – we’ve got almost 5,000 fans on Facebook! If you are not already a fan of the SEScoops Facebook page, click here and join the SEScoops Facebook revolution!

Indy Fed Blasts Scott Hall For Friday Night Incident

9

Top Rope Promotions owner Steve Ricard sent us the following statement regarding the Scott Hall incident on Friday night:

Top Rope Promotions has been holding family oriented wrestling shows for 30 years now, and on our 30th Anniversary event, we brought in one of the biggest names in pro wrestling, Scott Hall (aka Razor Ramon).

We drew a packed house and a good majority of them were there to see Hall. Hall and his people down in FL had all claimed he was clean and good to go. His flight and hotel were pre paid, and his appearance fee was demanded upon arrival at the airport (which he asked for within 3 min of being picked up).

Hall had arrived in a wheel chair with 3 bottles of prescription pills in his posession. Hall had performed an interview with our local newspaper The Herald News around 6 PM on Thursday night, saying how much he was looking forward to coming to the show, and how he was clean. Less then 24 hrs later, he showed up in the state he was in, demanding his appearance fee. Right off the bat, we were in a bad situation.

Having Hall at the building, already pre paid with his appearance fee, hotel, flight, etc. He even harassed my driver in the process. Hall was persistent to appear on the show. His heart was in the right place, unfortunately I can’t say the same about his mind or his body.

Throughout the night he made threats to numerous members of my staff, as well as myself demanding more money, demanding to go to the ring when he wanted to etc. He was also threatening to kill me if I “screwed” him over. I’m 31 years old and I should be in no circumstances, babysitting someone in there 50’s.
Hall made at best, an embarrassing performance in the ring and for the fans who came to see him, trashing matches that were on the show before him and addressing the crowd as if we were in England.

Neither Hall, nor anyone who helped line up the date, or any of his close friends or agents have called to apologize or offer a refund for his “less then stellar” appearance. He showed his true colors and who he was this past Friday night. If he’s upset that we’re airing a stream of this atrocious appearance, maybe he should issue an apology to the fans, the promotion, and the workers of the company. One would only assume that no one that night got what they paid for, myself included.”

Awesome Kong Heading To FCW, Bail Enforcers Premiere Notes

19

— A vignette teasing the arrival of the wrestler formerly known as Awesome Kong aired during tonight’s episode of FCW Wrestling on the Bright House Sports Network in Florida.

The promo was brief and showcased her eyes.

It was reported late last year that she had signed a contract with WWE. The internationally renowned wrestler has not competed since that time.

Bail Enforcers, starring Trish Stratus, premiered yesterday at the Actionfest Film Festival in Asheville, North Carolina. Edge, as well as Tara of TNA Wrestling, were on hand for the festivities. Edge, who resides in Asheville, was trying to be low key and didn’t seem to want attention. Tara, however, seemed to enjoy the attention she received. The theater was about 40% full and consisted of fans of wrestling and action movies. According to an attendee, the storyline isn’t original and some of the acting is wooden, but the action is decent and Stratus presents herself well. The movie is not for children as the dialog is profane.

Following the premiere, Stratus participated in a Q&A session with the cast and director. She was asked if she garnered heat within WWE for participating in a movie not affiliated with the organization. Status said no, and that WWE had agreed to promote the film.

Shane McMahon Resurfaces, Ashley Massaro Pulls No-show, More

— Shane McMahon briefly appeared during today’s telecast of the 2011 Masters Golf Tournament on CBS. The former WWE executive and talent was seen congratulating a golfer.

His brief appearance resulted in ‘Shane McMahon’ trending worldwide on Twitter.

Related News: Update On Shane Wanting NO Part In WWE

Backstage Feeling On What Holds John Morrison Back In WWE

38

Former WWE creative team member John Piermarini stated in a blog post earlier this year that Vince McMahon believes John Morrison “can’t kick anyone’s ass in a real fight” and therefore won’t achieve the success many have pegged him for.

But that’s not the only criticism being levied towards “The Prince of Parkour” as the Pro Wrestling Torch reports that many people within WWE feel he comes off as if he’s performing in his matches, as opposed to fighting. This holds him back, as does his relationship with Melina and the belief that his promo ability is subpar.

Character aside, it’s been said that McMahon doesn’t respect Morrison as a man. Years ago, he allowed Melina to engage in a sexual relationship with former WWE star Batista while the two were dating. Morrison opted to be professional instead of confrontational and therefore lost brownie points with the WWE CEO.

Trish Stratus appeared on Sirius XM Radio’s Busted Open on Friday and politely buried Morrison by indicating that he wasn’t too smart in his decision making for their match at WrestleMania. She confirmed online reports that he wasn’t interested in listening to her suggestions for their bout, and that when she went to hug him during the post-match celebration, he cold-shouldered her. The feeling is that his unprofessional behavior will set himself back politically since Stratus is highly regarded amongst company personnel.

WWE Cancels Plans To Use Horse At ‘Mania, Update On Shane

5

— WWE originally planned for Triple H to ride a Clydesdale horse to the ring for his match against The Undertaker at WrestleMania XXVII. During a test run, the horse fell through the trap door on the WrestleMania stage, with Hunter riding it. The horse was spooked and went wild. Plans for the ring entrance were immediately scrapped.

— Shane McMahon was not on hand for last week’s WrestleMania festivities. Vince and Linda McMahon still see his children, and he still has a good relationship with Stephanie, but the belief is that he has no plans on ever returning to WWE.

The Pro Wrestling Torch speculates that Shane, who was at one point pegged as Vince’s successor, mainly parted ways with the organization last year because he has absolutely no interest in dealing with the corporate politics.

It was announced last August that McMahon had signed a deal to become the new CEO of China Broadband Inc., a provider of cable broadband services, as well as other digital and analog related services, in the Shandong Province of the People’s Republic of China. The company is based in Boulder, Colorado.

TNA Management Changes Coming, Mickie James Faces Rosita

14

He wrote, “Don’t miss Shake, Rattle & Roll this Monday night fans! We have huge breaking news about upper management changes in TNA.”

The podcast airs Monday night at 7:30 p.m. on www.htmradio.com.

— Mickie James battles Rosita on the latest episode of TNA Xplosion. The match is available here. Rosita is accompanied by TNA Knockout Tag Team Champion Sarita, who cuts a promo prior to the match.

— TNA Knockout Tara was on hand for the world premiere of Bail Enforcers yesterday in Ashville, North Carolina, which stars former WWE colleague Trish Stratus.

JR Blog: Rock vs. Cena At WM28, Paul Heyman, Territories

3

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has updated his blog, which you can read in its entirety at JRsBarBQ.com. Here are some highlights of what JR said about:

The Rock vs. John Cena at WM28:

“No…I do not think that @TheRock vs. @JohnCena should happen before Wrestlemania 28. Let’s put that matter to bed. It isn’t going to happen before WM28 in Miami. As comedian Ron White would say, “Let it go.”

“Love how many crystal ball possessing, wrestling creative valedictorians already know that the long range plan for Rock-Cena isn’t a good idea. For you that have this all figured out, can you also provide me some lead pipe cinch, stock tips or the National Champion of College Football winner for the upcoming season?”

Paul Heyman:

“I guess one should never say never, but I never see @HeymanHustle returning to the pro wrestling world on a full time or regular basis. Never. I get asked this question weekly it seems.”

Wrestling Territories – A Thing Of The Past:

“No…wrestling territories are dead and will likely stay that way. The key to a territories success is getting local, strong TV clearances with a slick produced TV show that airs weekly. That isn’t going to happen. It’s not affordable nor does the majority of fans want to see largely unknown wrestlers. Most investors, who haven’t lost their sanity, would never invest in obtaining TV clearances and upgrading TV production values notwithstanding funding a wrestler payroll. Weekly territories are a thing of the past and will never be seen again to the level that they once were or even close.”

“On the flip side, having viable, successful territories did more to develop main event level talents than any thing ever and nothing that can be created in today’s marketplace will ever supplant that concept. New talents can and will be developed but it will have to be in a much different way than back in the territory days where a different audience could be utilized to watch a gambit of wrestlers evolve and learn their craft. Being able to relocate to a variety of territories with differing creative philosophies and audiences/fans helped many wrestlers become stars. “

Kevin Nash, Eric Bischoff & Jim Ross Comment On Scott Hall

10

“Didn’t mention scott hall’s recent incident over wk’end. Don’t know any details. Feel bad 4 scott & pray 4 his good health. Really talented.”

“Just watched the video of Scott Hall’s appearance in New England. Wish I knew how to help him. I know that others (including Vince McMahon) have tried recently. He was such an amazing talent, and deep down inside, a great person. His demons are killing him.”

– Kevin Nash also wrote about Scott Hall’s Friday night incident and asked people to support his friend during this tough time:

“Scott is in the hospital up north,I’ll be at the airport when he lands and taking him to my home when he lands. Please don’t judge Scott on what you just saw.He would give any of you a kidney. to the motherf—– that made a joke who would want his kidney lol send me your address and lets see how funny it is. he’s my brother we will get through this. To Scotts fans thank you 4 your love you’re as special as he is”

Scott Hall Angry His Footage Is Being Used To Sell iPPVs

6

A representative of Scott Hall told TMZ that he is upset that Top Rope Promotions is using footage of his in-ring incident from Friday night to promote their online pay-per-view event taking place tonight.

“We find the footage to be very distasteful and not suitable for a pay-per-view audience and it’s sad that the promoter has decided to air the uncut footage from the pay-per-view,” representative Geena Jinev Anac said.

A video was posted online of Hall struggling to get into the ring, followed by a promo to purchase the online event.

Hall was hospitalized following an appearance at an independent wrestling show in River Fall, Massachusetts on Friday. He is being treated for cardiac issues and possible complications from the 10 different prescriptions he’s taking.

MAILBAG: Is WWE Risking Too Much With Cena/Rock Match?

29

SEScoops Mailbag for April 10th

(submit YOUR questions to [email protected])

Q: I have some concerns about the Rock vs. Cena match at next year’s WrestleMania. First off, I have no idea how they are going to do a year-long buildup without it getting stale. Is Rock just going to disappear and we are going to ignore it until next March? Also, with this set in stone, there is no way Cena can win any title between now and then and he cannot be taken seriously as a participant in the Royal Rumble or Elimination Chamber matches. They are essentially eliminating one of their biggest faces from any serious contention for a year. Also, what happens if Cena gets injured between now and then and can’t wrestle? They are risking an awful lot on this. – Christopher

A: Step down from the ledge and come back inside. You seem to presume lots of things with your questions. Is it possible the Rock/Cena feud will lose steam between now and next year’s Mania? Sure. But let me remind you of another Mania main event that was set up a year in advance – Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage. True, they didn’t formally announce it as a match until the month before Mania 5 when the Mega Powers broke up and Savage turned heel, but anyone with a brain could see that is where they were going with that storyline as soon as Savage won the title the year before. And I think that whole thing turned out just fine. Rock will disappear from TV for a time and will return as we get closer to the big date. What I would do if I were them is at least record some fun training vignettes and promos with Rock that they could splice into their shows here and there in the summer and fall, just to keep the rivalry fresh in people’s minds. As for your statement that there is no way Cena can win a title between now and then, I ask, why the hell not? He’s going to continue feuding with Miz for the WWE Title, that much we know. He can very easily win the title between now and then and drop it before Mania. If Cena gets hurt before then and can’t compete, they will find a suitable replacement (and around the same time, somewhere in San Antonio, Shawn Michaels will disconnect his landline phone and toss his Blackberry into a river). This is not Henny Penny, the sky is not falling and everything will be just fine.

Q: Was there a medical reason that caused HBK to retire or was he just done? – Dallas

A: The reason was primarily medical, but HBK was just a total mess at that point in 1998 when he stopped wrestling. It’s well-documented that he had his own substance abuse issues at the time and was generally rather unpleasant to be around. But the reason he disappeared for so long was because of multiple herniated discs sustained on a botched bump in his Casket Match against Undertaker at the Royal Rumble. Michaels took a back body drop out of the ring and landed right on the edge of the casket, and while he was able to finish the match, as he tells the story, two days later he found himself unable to get out of bed. He was forced to miss the February PPV (where he was scheduled to be part of an 8-man tag team main event) and didn’t wrestle again until dropping the title to Steve Austin at WrestleMania. He was hoping to rehab the injury and avoid surgery, but when that proved unsuccessful, he went under the knife several months later.

Q: What ever happened to Chris Jericho’s game show “Downfall”? – Michael

A: Low ratings killed the show dead last summer. The show had a commitment for six episodes, but only five ended up airing. The first episode debuted with a 3.1 rating (roughly 6 million viewers), but just one month later, the show had fallen to a 2.0, nearly cutting the number of viewers in half. Those numbers simply won’t do for network television. If you’re a fan of game shows, do yourself a favor and watch Wipeout on ABC. I can never watch an episode without laughing until I cry and it’s easily the best show on the air right now.

Q: What are your thoughts Jeff Jarrett making Kurt Angle look like a dead beat dad and horrible husband? – Tyler Johnson

A: Don’t blame Jeff Jarrett, blame Vince Russo and TNA management for thinking it makes for such a wonderful storyline. Besides, Kurt Angle has done a fine job of making himself look bad lately, he doesn’t need anyone else’s help.

Q: Why is Alex Riley still carrying a briefcase to the ring? What is supposed to be inside it? – Michael V.

A: It’s simply become part of his gimmick. Bob Orton Jr. wore a cast on his arm years after his supposed injury had healed. D-Lo Brown continued wearing a chest protector in his matches long after his injuries at the hands of Dan Severn healed. There’s no real reason for it, yet I still probably get more questions about this than anything else after all these months.

Q: Something’s Caught My Mind, In WWE/TNA Do They Let You Decide Your Own Name, Music, Moves,Gear, & If You’re Face Or Heel, Or Do They Decide All Of This For You, Because I’m Determined To Be In WWE Or TNA Someday, And I Wanted To Get The Facts Straight. – Zachary

A: You’re quite fond of capitalizing the beginning of every word, I see. First, please stop that, it’s freaking me out. Performers in WWE and TNA are always able to make suggestions to the office about their character, but the company makes all final decisions on name, music and creative issues. Remember that if you sign a contract with them, you are essentially becoming their property (which is interesting when you consider that, technically, wrestlers are independent contractors). If you’re serious about pursuing your dream, I wish you luck.

Q: Why doesn’t WWE use the United Center when they go to Chicago? It seats like 5k more or so. – bigmike9208

A: It’s likely an agreement they have with the Allstate Arena. Also, keep in mind that up until recently, WWE was finding it more and more difficult to fill buildings for their house shows, so they would often go with the smaller venues if given the option between two. The only major WWE event I can recall at the United Center was the 1994 Summerslam.

Q: In [a recent mailbag] Rob Van Dam’s name came up, so would RVD be the world’s most successful stoner since he once graced the cover of High Times? – Andrew B.

A: Is RVD the first stoner in the history of the publication to be featured on its cover? I’m not sure how that alone is a qualification for making someone the most successful at anything. I have an old WWF Magazine from 1992 with Papa Shango on the cover. Does that make him the most successful voodoo practitioner to ever grace their cover? Actually, he’s probably the only one that ever did, so perhaps that is a bad example.

Q: A few weeks ago you mentioned that it’s rare for a superstar to stay either face or heel for their entire career. You mentioned Ricky Steamboat as an example that stayed face throughout his career, but can you think of anybody that stayed heel the entire time? – Shane

A: John Cena.

Keep those questions coming to [email protected] and remember to include your name!

Update On Report Of WWE Divas Being Upset With Trish Stratus

16

Wrestling Observer editor Dave Meltzer has corroborated our earlier report of members of the WWE women’s locker room being upset with Trish Stratus, as well as Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi.

Several WWE Divas weren’t happy with the originally planned multi-women’s tag team match being nixed from WrestleMania XXVII, leaving a scant few to participate in skits, and only Lay-Cool competing. This led to heat on Stratus and Polizzi as some felt they “took their spots” because unlike them, they’re on the road all year long.

The originally planned multi-women’s tag team match was actually cut due to timing constraints, not due to Stratus and Polizzi’s involvement with the pay-per-view event. Kelly Kelly, however, can attest to being “victimized” by Stratus and Polizzi since she was originally penciled in for the mixed tag team match. She concurred with Nikki Bella stating on Twitter that Snooki learned something from the Jacksonville native for her WrestleMania match, writing, “Heck ya pic tell em!!!”

Stratus appeared on Sirius XM Radio’s Busted Open yesterday and politely criticized John Morrison for his decision making as she indicated that he wasn’t smart. She confirmed online reports that he wasn’t interested in listening to her suggestions for the match, and that when went to hug him, he gave her the cold shoulder.

Some people within WWE are attributing Morrison’s unprofessional behavior to Melina, since she is his girlfriend and was left off WrestleMania XXVII. The backstage belief is that he either holds Stratus in contempt for taking Melina’s spot on the card, or had to portray himself as such so that she would believe he was mean to her. Melina is one of the women’s wrestlers upset with Stratus and Polizzi for “taking their spots.”

Goldust Says He May Retire Soon, Reaction To WrestleMania

19

— Goldust, who is currently nursing a shoulder injury, stated today on his Twitter account that he may retire soon.

He wrote, “Guys i think im gonna retire pretty soon.”

He added, “Listen i love all of our roster….they work their #!@%*#es off and they r getting faster and stronger and better each day…very proud of all of em.”

— Internally, there is said to be a lot of criticism and second guessing regarding Sunday’s WrestleMania XXVII pay-per-view event. Many of the items fans were critical of, such as the conclusion of the show and the Jerry Lawler vs. Michael Cole match, were the same criticisms officials had.

— Chris Jericho appears on That Metal Show tonight at 11:00 p.m. on VH1 Classic. The episode replays several times over the next week.

Scott Hall Hospitalized Following Indy Show Appearance

8

TMZ reports that Scott Hall was hospitalized following an appearance at a “low rent” wrestling show in Massachusetts on Friday.

The former wrestling champion was taken to a local hospital to be treated for cardiac issues. Hall’s publicist says he will be hospitalized for at least three more days while doctors examine his health.

TMZ reports that Hall is taking ten different medicines for “various ailments.” He was hospitalized earlier this week after overdosing on prescription medication.

Hall appeared for Top Rope Promotions Friday night in Fall River, Massachusetts. TMZ says he “looked clearly out of it” throughout his appearance and needed ten minutes to get out of the ring with assistance from police officers.

Scott Hall Update: “Belligerent” & “Incoherent”, Passed Out

15

As we’ve been covering here on the site, Scott Hall appeared at a live event for Top Rope Promotions on Friday night and was in “no condition to perform.” Hall could barely walk or stand up on his own and had to be held up by several people.

Ryan Drew from Top Rope Promotions sent word that Hall showed up to the building in the afternoon under the influence of something and was “belligerent and incoherent.”

There was an autograph signing and Hall fell asleep during it and when he was awake, his signature consisted of a line, not a name. Drew issued the following statement to pwinsider.com regarding Hall’s latest episode:

“Unfortunately, Top Rope Promotions does not own the footage, the iPPV company does. And they plan on running the iPPV as planned with Scott Hall segment intact. TRP would like to issue an apology and would urge fans not to order the iPPV, as the Scott Hall footage is disturbing. He needed several people to get him in and out of the ring. And he even fell over in the ring. Please pray for the guy. We wish him the best.”

WWE Draft News, Punk Trashes Tough Enough Girls, WM27

22

– With WrestleMania 27 in the history books, there is talk within WWE about when the company will hold this year’s talent draft. There had been talk a few weeks ago that there would be no draft this year, but we have not heard anything concrete about the draft being scrapped. If the draft does take place , it will not be this month as in previous years, but would likely take place in June, when WWE will be holding two 3-hour episodes of RAW.

– CM Punk made some interesting comments on Twitter this week after watching the premiere episode of Tough Enough. About Miss USA Rima Fakih, Punk tweeted:

“So far this rima broad needs to take her padding and cover her weird face.”

He also wrote the following about Ariane Andrew, the first contestant to be eliminated this week:

“I know this Arianne as, “tampon girl”. Maybe I’ll tell the story…”

– It’s worth noting  Triple H vs. The Undertaker was the only match at WrestleMania 27 to last over 15 minutes.  which went almost 30 minutes. John Cena vs. The Miz went just under 15 minutes before it was re-started and after the second fall, it went 15 minutes and 20 seconds.

Kurt Angle Pleads Guilty To Reckless Driving Charge

8

Kurt Angle plead guilty Friday to a reckless driving charge stemming from his arrest near Thompson, North Dakota on March 25.

Under the terms of the agreement, Angle would pay a $475 fine, serve one year of unsupervised probation and undergo a “chemical dependency evaluation.”

The Grand Forks Herald reports Angle would “receive a suspended sentence of 10 days in jail.”

The TNA Wrestling Superstar did not appear in court, but his written plea was filed with the clerk of court’s office Friday. A judge will whether to accept his plea agreement.

Angle was originally arrested and charged with “being in control of a motor vehicle while intoxicated,” which indicates he was not accused of drunk driving but being behind the wheel of a vehicle while allegedly intoxicated.

Details of his arrest are available here.

Sting Talks About His Match With Jeff Hardy At Victory Road

10

During a recent interview with the Daily Star, TNA champion Sting made his first public comments about the 90-second match he had with Jeff Hardy at Victory Road. There were widespread reports that the match was cut short at the last minute because Jeff Hardy was “in no condition” to perform that night. Sting said:

“I love Jeff Hardy. I don’t want to do anything to harm him. He has personal issues, everyone knows that. But some things are true and some are not. What is true is that it all came to a head that week and hit really big that night. I hated what happened because I wanted to give fans a great match. But I realize it had to happen the way it did.”

After the match was over, Sting says he was very concerned about Hardy’s condition:

“And after all was said and done I came to the back and made sure he was OK. He is OK and he’s been talking to people close to him a lot. Jeff is getting stronger. He’s riding 10 miles a day on his mountain bike to get in condition, I hear! Good luck to him.”
