JR Blog: Danielson’s WWE Future, Comparing Orton & Austin

5

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has updated his blog at JRsBarBQ.com with his thoughts on the following:

Tuesday’s NXT Broadcast:“NXT was a surprising show Tuesday night. I am a reality show fan by and large and have always thought that NXT would be more effective it we fans could see the NXT rookies outside the arena environment to be able to get to know them better. Perhaps the 2nd version of NXT will provide that. ”

Bryan Danielson’s Future: “Daniel Bryan aka Bryan Danielson is by far the best pure wrestler of the NXT group, eliminated or not, and no matter what his name may or may not be today.”

Comparing Randy Orton to Steve Austin: “Randy is merely being his TV persona but it does have some Austin-esque qualities. Randy just has to continue to put his own, individual touches on his fan favorite persona of which I have very high hopes for as time goes on.”

Brock Lesnar vs. Shane Carwin on 7/3: “No…Brock Lesnar vs. Shane Carwin won’t go 5 rounds on July 3 in Las Vegas. I hope to secure a pair of decent seats to this one and enjoy a few days in ‘Lost Wages’ with the Mrs.”

Jericho Staying With WWE For Years, Cena Responds To Critics

27

– In an interview with the UK Sun, RAW superstar Chris Jericho spoke about his love of music and what let to him perusing a full time career in wrestling over music. The most newsworthy item of the interview came when Jericho was asked about his future in WWE and whether he’s be leaving the ring for the stage any time soon. Good news for Jericho fans, as he responded, “I think now is the time to stay for a couple of years to help those around me. I want to help the young talent.”

– WWE champion John Cena has been answering fan questions on his new Twitter page (Twitter.com/wwejcena) and fired back at people who criticize his on-air character and WWE’s family-friendly PG programming. Cena wrote:

“Guys, I am sorry to disappoint but what u see on TV is what u get. That’s pretty close to me in real life. I’m sorry if u think I’m watered down, I’ve been called worse.”

Cena also responded to a fan who asked whether he’d considering bringing back his old “rapper” gimimck. Cena said it’s unlikely,

“Guys, I really appreciate the respect for the freestyle. It would have no home in today’s environment. It would be a weak, watered down, rehash of something that was very fun to be a part of while it lasted. I still freestyle all the time, it just wouldn’t be right for me right now, I really like the place where I am, and where WWE is.”

Bret Hart Talks About Wrestling The Miz, WWE Travel & More

12

WWE Hall of Famer Bret “Hit Man” Hart has posted a new blog on Facebook talking about his United States title match with The Miz next week on RAW, becoming a grandfather this week and what it’s been like working with WWE since WrestleMania. Here are some highlights of what Bret said about:

Wrestling The Miz Next Week: “My son, Blade, just told me I’ve got a U.S. title shot next week in Toronto. News to me. The Hartbeat goes on,”

Based on Bret’s response, it’s safe to assume that next week’s “match” with The Miz will be heavy on “sports entertainment” without much wrestling on Bret’s part.

Working With WWE Since WrestleMania: “Sometimes I can barely remember this stuff. Being stuck in Europe, the volcanic ash, Joe Legend, Monday Night Raw in London, touring both Smackdown and Raw, and before that, WrestleMania 26. Did all that stuff really happen? What an adventure. Life is good.”

Becoming a Grandfather: “I finally became a proud grandfather yesterday when my oldest, Jade, gave birth to a 8lbs., 11oz. beautiful baby girl named Kyra Beans Hart. To be a grandpop is such an important role in a child’s life and I look forward to being a big part of her life and the best grandpa ever. Like all proud grandfathers, I truly feel blessed at this time and I also congratulate her mother, Julie, on a job well done from the very beginning.”

Lilian Garcia Responds To Mick Foley’s Comments Defending Her

14

Last Wednesday, Mick Foley published a blog on his MySpace account criticizing Triple H for mocking Lilian Garcia during her appearance on Raw last month. Garcia was back on Raw to fill in as ring announcer with most of the Raw crew grounded overseas.

The event in question occurred during Hunter’s show-opening monologue on the Apr. 19 Raw in which he made a crack about Garcia “horsing around.” The comment stems from those in the WWE’s “inner circle” often joking that Lilian has a horse-shaped face.

Foley wrote: “Why does someone like Triple H, one of the most talented, well paid guys in the business, do something so shallow and mean? Why would a multi-millionaire, with millions of fans around the world, feel the need (several times over the years) to say something that is only meant to hurt? I don’t get it. I don’t get why it’s done, I don’t get why it’s condoned, I don’t get what possible satisfaction anyone involved gets from demeaning someone like Lillian Garcia. I just don’t get it.”

Breaking her silence on the matter, Garcia wrote the following message to Foley on her Twitter account today: “Mick Foley, this tweet’s for you!! I really appreciate your kind words and the compassion you showed in your blog. Your care for my feelings proves what a loving, caring and wonderful human being you are. This is why I truly miss working with you. You are one of a kind!! Thank you, love you!!”

Foley acknowledged feedback he’s received since last week for chastising Triple H for his dig towards Garcia in a follow-up blog. He acknowledged that he may have cost himself professionally down the road, not to mention that some people may see him as a hypocrite, but felt he had to stand for certain principles in this situation.

Foley explained further: “I could go into great detail about why some of the issues raised (it was innocent joking around on Triple H’s part, I’m a hypocrite because I made fun of Al Snow, Test, etc., where was I during the Mickie James angle?) but I think it would be far more productive for readers to try to figure out the differences for themselves.”

*Spoiler* New IC Champion Crowed At SmackDown Tapings

18

Warning: The following contains a *Spoiler* for Friday’s WWE SmackDown

Last week on SmackDown, WWE Intercontinental champion Drew McIntyre was stripped of his title and suspended by General Manager Teddy Long following his brutal attack on Matt Hardy. A 4-man mini-tournament was announced, with Kofi Kingston and Christian advancing to the finals, set for this week’s show.

At Tuesday’s SmackDown tapings from Buffalo, NY, Kofi Kingston defeated Christian to capture the Intercontinental Title.

However, Drew McIntyre came out after the match and handed a letter to Smackdown general manager Teddy Long. After reading the letter, Long ordered Kingston to give the Intercontinental Title back to McIntyre.

The letter that McIntyre presented to Long stated that Teddy is irresponsible and abused his power. It also stated that McIntyre is a gentleman who signifies what the future of WWE is. Per the letter, McIntyre is reinstated to the active roster and is once again recognized as the Intercontinental Champion. The letter was signed by Vince McMahon.

So after all the fuss, Drew McIntyre is once again the Intercontinental champion.

Expect a title defense against Kofi Kingston at Over The Limit.

Three NXT Rookies Eliminated This Week: Updated Roster

33

After it was originally announced that one NXT rookie would be eliminated on this week’s show, three rookies were actually sent home this week.

Prior to revealing the results of the latest WWE Pros PNXT host Matt Striker confirmed that WWE management decided that two additional eliminations were in order.

Based on their promos at the end of last week’s show, Michael Tarver and Daniel Bryan were eliminated. The storyline was that because they believed they deserved to be eliminated this week, the WWE Universe had no reason to believe in them and they were dropped from the competition.

During the show, both gave “exit interviews” regarding their eliminations. Daniel Bryan’s was particularly noteworthy, in that he acknowledged that ‘Daniel Bryan’ was a fake  name created for the WWE NXT competition. Bryan said that while “Daniel Bryan” is very likely done, there is no telling what Bryan Danielson will accomplish in the future. Matt Striker called him ‘Bri’ on commentary and wished him “the best in his future endeavors.”

The angle appeared to kill of the Daniel Bryan character and suggested that we could see him wrestle as Bryan Danielson in the future.

As for the Pros Poll, the results and elimination were as follows:

WWE Pros Poll for 5/11/10:
– Wade Barrett
– David Otunga
– Justin Gabriel
– Heath Slater
– Darren Young
– Skip Sheffield (eliminated)

Monday’s Raw Rating, Cena Possibly Recording Another Album

7

— Last night’s episode of Monday Night Raw averaged a 3.05 cable rating, the same number as last week. The show drew a 3.00 during the first hour and a 3.10 during the second. Overall viewership was slightly up as Raw averaged 4.41 million viewers compared to 4.33 million last week. (source: PWInsider.com)

— John Cena noted on his Twitter account today that he spent time in the recording studio this afternoon.

“Just finished recording a song with ‘Bumpy Knuckles’ for the movie Legendary,” Cena wrote. “It will be out in September. Was very good to be back in the studio making music. I am really thinking about doing another album. Time will tell.”

— After living in New York City for over a decade, former WWE Diva Lilian Garcia has announced that she is moving out west to Los Angeles, California. The former ring announcer of Monday Night Raw noted in a blog post that some opportunities have presented themselves to her and she felt the need to take a “leap of faith towards them,” hence the change of scenery. Helms Expected To Join TNA Soon, Update On Shelly Martinez

15

— Gregory Helms is expected to join TNA Wrestling once his ninety-day no-compete clause with World Wrestling Entertainment expires later this month. He has already made a verbal deal with the organization through Jeff Hardy and will most likely be performing under his WCW ring name, Shane Helms. On another note, there is talk of starting a faction with Hardy, Helms, Shannon Moore and Jesse Neal. (source: f4wonline.com)

— As reported earlier, Shelly Martinez, who performed as Salinas in TNA Wrestling, recently inquired about returning to the organization. Online, she has made it no secret that she would like to return to the company as she has been actively campaigning and even going as far to say that it was her “dream” to manage Shannon Moore. After not hearing back from Terry Taylor, TNA’s Director of Talent Relations, she noted yesterday on her Twitter account that she wrote to him to ask him about her status. She received her answer, writing the following this afternoon:

“So Terry Taylor said there is no opportunity at TNA for me :(”

— TNA will be holding television tapings at Universal Studios in Orlando on July 12th, 13th, 26th and 27th. (Thanks to Devin Cutting)

Update On The WWE Exec Accused Of Sexual Harassment

10
goodbye
Jared Bartie

Update: Irv Muchnick, who broke this original story, now writes that sources within WWE have told him that Jared Bartie, the 5th-most powerful man in WWE’s corporate structure, has been let go from the company following accusations of sexual harassment over WrestleMania weekend from a female employee. Bartie’s profile no longer appears on the WWE Corporate website either – and WWE has yet to comment on the situation.

To recap … Jared Bartie was recently suspended from WWE after a female employee allegedly accused him of sexual harassment. The incident that led to Barie’s suspension took place over WrestleMania 26 weekend. Muchnick’s source says that Bartie had been drinking during the WrestleMania festivities in Phoenix and inappropriately hit on a female executive in WWE’s sales department.

Musnick reports that the same woman who accused Bartie of sexual harassment was fired from WWE a few weeks later after being seen performing a sex act on another WWE employee on company property during business hours.

Von Erich Possibly Leaving TBP, Hogan Unaware Of Knox, More

9

Props to f4wonline.com for some of the info used in this report:

– There has been talk of Lacey Von Erich leaving “The Beautiful People” and turning babyface.

– Taz recently talked to Hulk Hogan about bringing Mike Knox in, but “The Hulkster” reportedly had no idea who he was. Eric Bischoff, on the other hand, vaguely remembered him. Nonetheless, there is said to be slight interest in using the recently released WWE star.

– A match pitting Samoa Joe against Matt Morgan could be a late addition to Sunday’s Sacrifice pay-per-view, but a final decision had not been made as of yesterday.

Bischoff Talks JR & Heyman In TNA, iMPACT! On Thursdays

14

TNA’s Eric Bischoff was the special guest on last night’s live edition (05/10/09) of the award-winning Monday Night Mayhem. You can feel The Mayhem live every Monday night (at 7PM ET/6PM CT), exclusively on MondayNihtMayhem.com.

Eric joined The Big Mosh & “The Chairman of the Board” Todd Vincent for his return to “Your Home of Wrestling Radio” & for the launch of his exclusive/all-new monthly interactive segment on Monday Night Mayhem, “The Hot Seat With Eric Bischoff” (flavored by Sizzlin Sauces).

To listen to an MP3 of the appearance, click here. Here are the highlights:

His thoughts on the move of TNA iMPACT back to Thursday nights, TNA never intending to compete with the WWE, & the experience of gaining more exposure for the TNA brand as a result of going head-to-head with World Wrestling Entertainment:

“First, I don’t recall fans en mass telling us not to go to Monday nights. On the contrary, I remember quite a bit of enthusiasm & energy, just because it was a chance to create competition & provide an alternative. There were a lot of fans that spoke out and said it was the wrong decision, but there was a lot of fans that felt the other way. What happened after the move (as we did some research, along with Spike TV), it was determined that while there were fans who enjoyed the competition, there was also a lot of fans that weren’t able to check out both. It was a problem for them having to switch back & forth. Unlike the WWE, TNA does not have a lot of other programming, so there’s only one TNA vehicle out there, and putting it head-to-head made it difficult for some fans of TNA. As far as WWE being too big to compete with, they’re a monster. We never intended to compete with WWE, we intended to position ourselves on Monday night, because that’s where the traditional wrestling fan audience is, and we thought that would be a great way to gain exposure for the TNA brand. That’s why we went to Monday nights, not to compete.”

Rob Van Dam capturing the TNA World Heavyweight Championship, the signing of RVD/what if means to the company now & for its future:

“RVD, in my opinion, is one of the better things that has happened to us in a while. He’s just got a different vibe, a different energy, and he appeals to a different audience again. Hoping that change (the TNA World Title change) is something that resonates with people who might not have otherwise tuned into TNA previously. One of the reasons RVD is here is to expand our audience, and he is clearly a guy that is worthy of being the TNA World Heavyweight Champion.”

Those Who Feel “The Blueprint” Matt Morgan is getting lost in the shuffle of TNA’s tag team division & the chances of seeing him return to the singles spotlight:

“I’m not the head of creative, and I don’t pretend to be. I’m a big supporter of Matt, and his future will be determined in the weeks & months to come. One of things I’m not going to do is talk about storylines & internal creative decisions, because A) there’s enough spoilers out there; I don’t need to do any it, and B) it’s not fair to a lot of other people involved. Matt Morgan is a great talent; I think he’s got a bright future, and those of you who are Matt Morgan fans should just sit back, watch, & enjoy.”

The confidence he has in TNA going to improve in the months ahead & his reaction to certain fans complaining about particular aspects of TNA, including those who are harsh to criticize the older wrestlers/talents in the company:

“Is TNA going to improve? Absolutely. Anyone who is objective who’s been watching it for the last couple of months, would be hard-pressed to deny that this product is evolving…and in a good way. In terms of older wrestlers, I heard exactly the opposite. I heard a lot of people say, who are fans of both WWE & TNA, they like seeing brands, names, & faces they recognize and that they have a history with. That’s not to say they want to see them dominate the show, and we don’t need research to tell us that. I’ll be careful to say that ‘all fans want to see one thing,’ because that’s not true.”

The likelihood of seeing either Jim Ross and/or Paul Heyman in TNA soon:

“I don’t know. I don’t know what Jim is thinking & his point of view. I like Jim, and he & I have a pretty good relationship, and we stay in touch from time-to-time. I don’t have this kind of conversation with him, and quite frankly, it’s been a few months since I spoke to him. Heyman…no idea. But who knows, time will tell. Never say never right?”

Update On Drew McIntyre, McMahon Return Being Discussed

14

Reportedly, some people on WWE’s creative team have no idea where the Drew McIntyre firing angle is headed, let alone why it was done in the first place. It was originally speculated that he failed a drug test, but that’s largely because nobody could figure out any other good reason for his kayfabe removal. If nothing else, his removal was clearly apart of an angle considering he worked the company’s tour of Mexico last week.

It’s been speculated that the angle could lead to Vince McMahon returning as an on-screen character to reinstate his “Chosen One” and perhaps fire Theodore Long. As recently as a few days ago, there was in fact talk of bringing “Mr. McMahon” back to television.

Further indicating that his removal from WWE is all an angle, Matt Hardy wrote the following on his Twitter account after last Tuesday’s SmackDown taping: “As a favor to me, if ur a fan of mine-Let Drew McIntyre hear ‘We want Matt’ over & over again. This thing with him & I is just beginning. RT.”

It has been confirmed that McIntyre and Taryn Terrell (a/k/a Tiffany) tied the knot a few weeks ago in Las Vegas. The feeling is that creative weren’t going to split them up immediately, meaning he’s likely not going to Raw.

Ted DiBiase’s New Storyline, Bret A Grandfather, Twitter

3

– On RAW, we saw the beginning of a new storyline with Ted DiBiase, who has received a large trust fund from his father, the Million Dollar Man. The storyline goes that Ted was to receive the trust fund after either his 30th birthday or his first WrestleMania match, which happened this year. Ted is using his money to pay off WWE Superstars off, as seen on RAW last night with the Colons attacking R-Truth. He’s also sporting the classic Million Dollar Belt.

– Jim Ross noted on Twitter last night that Bret Hart’s daughter Alexandra Sabina Hart gave birth to a baby girl named Kyra Beans Hart. The baby’s middle name comes from Alexandra’s nickname, Beans.

– Look for WWE to emphasize Twitter on television in the coming weeks and months. After frowning upon their superstars posting incriminating messages on Twitter, the company has made the decision to embrace the service and wants all of its main eventers to use it. As always, visit PWTweets.com to follow 80+ wrestlers & divas on Twitter.

Howard Stern Hosting RAW? Elisabeth In The HOF & More

8

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has posted a new batch of answers to fan questions at his website, JRsBarBQ.com. Here are a few quick highlights of what Ross said about:

Howard Stern Hosting RAW Rumor: “Howard would likely do a helluva job hosting Raw if he were to want to do it. Stern obviously is a huge star who has his own vehicle to promote his guest shot.

Miss Elisabeth in the Hall of Fame? “I would bet that Miss Elizabeth makes the WWE HOF but that’s one man’s take on the matter.

Did He Prefer Working on RAW or SmackDown? “I preferred Raw over Smackdown by a mile. Raw is the standard bearer, is live, and I felt more at home working with The King.”

What Happened After RAW, Update On Vickie Guerrero

17

– After last night’s RAW went off the air, Batista got on the mic and challenged John Cena to a no-disqualification match for the WWE Title. During the match, Sheamus hit the ring and laid out Batista with a kick to the head. Sheamus then went for Cena but Cena tossed him out of the ring. Cena then hit Batista with the Attitude Adjustment to get the win.

– The decision to put Vickie Guerrero on last night’s Raw was a last minute one made this past Thursday. She was originally slated to appear one night only as the show’s general manager, but company officials were pleased with the amount of heat she received and there is now talk of using her full-time for the role.

– The Raw crew were told to stay in their hotels during their tour of Mexico last week due to fear of people getting kidnapped.

WWE RAW Results (5/10): Hosted By Flavor Flav

4

Report by Kendra

This week’s RAW starts with video from last week’s The Cutting Edge where Edge complained about being drafted to RAW. Wayne Brady came out for a few minutes of pop, then Orton came out and hit the RKO on Brady. Edge tried to talk Orton down, reminded Orton about Rated RKO, but then Orton went for the RKO. Edge pushed off, but when Edge tried to spear, Orton hit the RKO.

Orton’s music and out he comes to the ring. Orton asks Edge if he’d like to know why Orton wouldn’t accept his offer? Because he knows Edge. Edge doesn’t want to partner, he wants to control Orton. Paradise By The Dashboard Light plays and out comes Meatloaf! Damn he’s slimmed down. Meatloaf told Orton he’s the man. They were going to introduce him, but he couldn’t wait! He has an album coming out tomorrow, ‘Hang Cool Teddy Bear’! he has a song on this album that needs to be Orton’s new music, written by Jon Bon Jovi. The reason he says it is this. 1995, Orton was 15 years old in St. Louis… You want to hear the song? Orton say, why not? Why doesn’t Meatloaf hum him a few bars? Meatloaf hands him the cover to hold. Meatloaf says he’ll sing the whole thing. He starts singing and it sucks. Orton starts to leave and pitches the cover over the side of the ring. Meatloaf goes on an on about a duet with Jack Black. He has Hugh Laurie! Hang Cool Teddy Bear, just for Orton. Finally, FINALLY Orton hit’s the RKO on Meatloaf and shut him the hell up! Edge’s music hits and he comes out with a smirk. Edge says Orton must not like celebrities. RKOing Brady and Meatloaf, attacking Seth Green and Freddie Prinze Jr. Edge agrees, he doesn’t like them either. The way they walk on this show and they think they run things. He did something about it. He called WWE Headquarters, complained long and loud. They Tweeted him back. From here on out Guest Celebrity Hosts have authority on RAW. That wasn’t enough for Edge. RAW needs a permanent GM. Someone who has experience, authority, the moxie to pull this job off. They agreed again. You’ll never guess who they picked to be the new permanent GM of RAW… Edge announces Vickie Guerrero. Out she comes screeching ‘Excuse me!’ The fans are HOT! She would like to state for the record… Edge says that she says, excuse her. She says despite her personal relationship with Edge in the past, she’s there to be a true professional. Randy, speaking of professionalism, Randy attacking celebrities won’t be allowed. He will be reprimanded. Orton told her to come down and reprimand him to his face. Edge says Orton’s a bully, but will learn what it feels like to be bullied. Vickie says tonight, due to his behavioral issues, Orton will take on Edge and a partner of his choice in a Two On One Handicap Match. Edge says Orton will learn how he deals with threats, and that’s a promise. Much glaring between the two.

Backstage Jericho and Miz walk along talking. A playful shove from Jericho and Miz is out of the camera shot. Jericho continues on, heading for the ring.

Gail Kim walks up the ramp arm in arm with Evan. Fox stays with Ryder.

Video of Cena beating Barrett last week and beating the clock in the process. Cena says he knows what the match at Over The Limit will be, but Sheamus rushed in and attacked. Cena will announce it next.

– Commercial

Cena’s music and he comes to the ring. 14,162 fans on their feet for the last time in the Igloo. Mixed reaction for Cena. He says this is a special occasion and it’s wonderful to be there. More mixed reaction. He wants to take this moment to thank Sheamus. Because of his outburst Cena had a whole week to think about his match with Batista. Maybe Batista was right. He did beat Batista, but it was intellectual, didn’t involve brute force. Some people thought it was the easy way out, an act of cowardice. He’s been called many things, but he’s not a coward. Tonight he’ll prove it. He stands in front of u with great power. He can choose anything. He can make Batista wear a blindfold. Make him wear hand cuffs. He can make him hop on one leg. That would be the act of a coward. This match at Over The Limit will be fair, but brutal. Very, very brutal. It will be the last time he faces Batista for the WWE Title. He‘s going on the record now saying that if Batista wins, he’s forfeiting his rematch clause. That being said, there’s only one match they can have. At Over The Limit, he’ll face Dave Batista in an I Quit Match. If Batista wants to shut him up and see Cena go, he has to make him say two words. He has to owe this all to Sheamus. He’d like to thank Sheamus, so how about that human jar of mayonnaise comes out so Cena can thank him in person. No music. Cena thought he wasn’t coming, but then the music started and he comes out to the stage. Sheamus says Cena wants to thank him? Cena hasn’t thought this through. If Sheamus comes to the match he won’t be in any condition to face Batista. Everyone knows this. So he’ll ask again, does Cena really want him down there? Cena says he’s head what Sheamus said and… off comes the shirt and hat. Cena says he’ll take his chances. Sheamus says he’s just lost his Championship. Batista shows up behind Cena. Batista hit’s a spear, then Sheamus slams Cena to the mat. Batista kicks Cena from the ring. Batista picks Cena up and slams him back first into the ring post a couple times. Cena rolled back into the ring. Cena to his feet and eats a big boot from Sheamus. The fans shout in happiness. It’s Mark Henry out to the ring. Splashing Batista in the corner then a boot to the face sends Batista from the ring. Henry is pumped up and ready for a FIGHT! Henry down on one knee to check on Cena. “Cena” chants from the women and children. Henry right there to help Cena up.

Backstage Edge goes up to Vickie. Edge says he has a partner. Edge says he said some horrible things about Vickie. He wanted some sympathy for her, but it didn’t work. They decided they can be friends. Edge wants her ringside. Vickie says Orton’s a snake, cold blooded. Edge told her to come out. She demanded a guarantee that he doesn’t touch her. Edge says he guarantees her, plus she can fire him on the spot. She needs to be there to show she can’t be intimidated and so she can she the look on Orton’s face when he’s defeated. She says she’ll be there.

Natalya, as much as she’d love to wrestle around in the ring with him, no. Live in Toronto, commercial free, he’ll face… (The fans know) Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart. The Dynasty’s not sure about this. Natalya looks the most shocked.

Backstage Josh stops Batista and says he’s heard that Batista’s facing Henry later. Batista asks if Josh knows about the I Quit Match. He’s not going to make Cena say I Quit, he’s going to make Cena scream it. Don’t believe him? Watch what he does to Mark Henry.

Regal comes in and tells Kozlov to ignore Santino. Regal says Flavor Flav can’t rap. Kozlov tells Regal to bust a move. Regal does. Straight out of Blackpool, I’m William Regal, rhymes so fresh, they shouldn’t be legal. Regal goes on to rap in a British snotty way (which I thought was bloody great & hysterical). Flavor Flav took him down!

Jeff Hardy Talks Favorite Matches, Dream Match & More

11

Jeff  Hardy was interviewed on the TNA website by teen actor Booboo Stewart. To read the full interview, visit TNA’s official website (LINK). Here are some highlights of what Hardy said about:

Favorite Career Match: “Overall, it would have to be at WrestleMania X-Seven in Houston,” Hardy said. “It was the second TLC Match and it’s the one where Edge speared me when I was hanging from the belt hook above the ring.

Favorite TNA Match: “In TNA, it was definitely Monster’s Ball from the first ever Bound for Glory in 2005. It was me, Abyss, Rhino, and Sabu. Both of those matches were matches with stipulations. If you want to know about my favorite regular match of all time, it was at Great American Bash 2008 against Umaga.”

His Dream MAtch: “It would be ‘The Charismatic Enigma’ Jeff Hardy against ‘The Icon’ Sting in a paint vs. paint match. I’m talking about the crow version (current) Sting. It has never happened before, but never say never.”

His Band Peroxwhy?gen:  “I haven’t come up with a name for the specific type of music yet. Sometimes I refer to my poetry as “emoetry”…written emotion, but to best describe it, it’s a combination of alternative rock and grunge metal.

Jeff Hardy’s In Court Today For Drug Charges (Updated)

Jeff Hardy's Mugshot from his September 11 arrest

UPDATED (5/10): TNA star Jeff Hardy appeared in a Moore County, N.C. court on Monday morning. The case has been continued to Tuesday, June 3rd, according to prowrestling.net. After contacting the Moore County Criminal Courthouse, we were told no additional information will be released regarding the trial until Friday at the earliest.

===

After several rounds of hearings and delays, Jeff Hardy’s trial stemming from his drug arrest last year is set to begin next Monday (5/10) in Moore County, North Carolina. Hardy’s drug charges went to a grand jury back in January and they found that there was enough evidence to indict Hardy and send the case to Superior Court.

Hardy was arrested on September 11th, 2009 after police raided his home in Cameron, North Carolina. A joint investigation conducted by officers with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office narcotics and select enforcement units and the Fayetteville Police Department led to the search.

According to the police report, a search of his residence yielded 262 Vicodin prescription pills, 180 Soma prescription pills, 555 milliliters of anabolic steroids, a residual amount of powder cocaine and items of drug paraphernalia.

He was charged with felony trafficking in opium, two counts of felony possession with intent to sell or deliver a Schedule III controlled substance, felony maintaining a dwelling to keep controlled substance, felony possession of cocaine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

If convicted of all charges, Hardy faces upto 14 years in prison.

Betty White Hosting RAW? Jim Ross Compares WWE-UFC

11
Actress Betty White

– Actress Betty White’s Wikipedia page claims she will host the Memorial Day edition of WWE Raw on May 31. The show will take place from Austin, Texas. Wikipedia is not the most reliable source, so take this one as a rumor for now. The 88 year old actress hosted NBC’s Saturday Night Live over the weekend and the show drew a better rating than usual. Her SNL hosting gig came about after a grassroots campaign on Facebook.

– WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has updated his blog at JRsBarBQ.com with some comments on how WWE’s production values compare to the UFC’s. Ross wrote, “WWE still has the TV production edge on UFC as WWE would have made the live event feel bigger than it did Saturday night with their shot selection and the way the event was mic’ed. The Bell Centre was packed but there were too many close up shots up dudes drinking and not enough shots of pretty women in attendance. I thought Joe Rogan and Mike Goldberg were on their game Saturday night and enjoyed their work. I have to admit when the show came on the air that I was ‘Jonseing’ at bit at the adrenaline rush the feel of the event gave me.”
