Nia Jax Joins Her Own Haters To Drag Herself In Hilarious Fashion

0

Nia Jax has been with WWE since early 2014, and she was also released in the process. Obviously, she realizes how many fans love her and that she also has a fair share of detractors. Now, it appears that she is joining her haters.

The Irresistible Force recently saw a post where fans were asked about their opinion of her. Instead of waiting for her notifications to fill with shade, she jumped ahead of them to drag herself.

Nia Jax’s Hilarious Response

The Rock’s cousin makes a good living in WWE, and she also has a firm spot on the roster. Triple H is using Jax well, so it appears as though she is very confident in her position with the company at this point.

WrestleOps asked fans, “Your honest overall opinion on Nia Jax’s second run back in WWE thus far,” and Nia Jax just couldn’t resist. She chimed while quote, re-posting the question in order to let fans know how she apparently views herself.

Nia Jax’s Road To WrestleMania

Nia Jax does not have a match at WrestleMania yet, but she’s coming off a big championship contest at the Elimination Chamber. She not only had a good match with Rhea Ripley in Perth, but a ton of fans realized that Nia Jax was born in Australia in the process.

Odds are, Nia Jax will continue making herself a force on the WWE roster, so she can secure a spot on the WrestleMania 40 card.

SEScoops will keep our eye on this story, and many more, on the road to WrestleMania. You never know what will pop off next, but we will be here for all the updates you need.

Drew McIntyre Teases The Return Of His ‘Broken Dreams’ WWE Theme Music

0

Drew McIntyre says wrestling fans who want WWE to bring back his classic ‘Broken Dreams’ theme music should raise the issue with his boss, Triple H.

McIntyre appeared on WWE digital series The Bump this week and fielded some questions sent in by fans. When asked about the possibility of ‘Broken Dreams’ making a return, McIntyre revealed it’s a question he receives on a daily basis.

“Wow, that’s the first time I’ve ever heard that question, ever,” McIntyre quipped. “I get that question literally every day. Be it social media or be it in person or every interview I do which is countless. I’m always asked about it, we had a little tease at Clash at the Castle.”

Encouraging fans to memorize the lyrics in anticipation, McIntyre referenced Cody Rhodes’ memorable line to Roman Reigns regarding learning the lyrics to his theme song Kingdom. McIntyre issued a similar challenge to fans:

“The cool thing about it [Broken Dreams] was the fans singing along. As I knew they would, because they’ve talked about it for so long. And I always tell everybody to learn the lyrics to Broken Dreams because when it happens you better know them.”

While contemplating the possibility of a WrestleMania surprise, McIntyre talked about the alignment of the theme with his current character trajectory.

“It’d be cool to get a little teaser at ‘Mania. I don’t know if it sits the character right now or if it sits me right now. I love the war drums.”

However, he urged fans to redirect their inquiries about Broken Dreams to WWE executive Triple H.

“But instead of tagging me, start tagging Triple H constantly. He’s made it very clear on the show that he’s the man in charge, so tag his arse to death.”

Drew McIntyre won the men’s 2024 Elimination Chamber match to earn the right to challenge Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight championship at WrestleMania 40.

WWE RAW May Be Homeless In Months Before Netflix Jump

0

RAW is leaving the USA Network, because SmackDown is going to that channel. The longest-running weekly episodic television show in history is actually leaving cable altogether, as they are jumping to Netflix. There is a lot to unpack with this story, and it gives WWE an interesting situation as well.

WWE’s deal with Netflix shook the pro wrestling world for many reasons. The groundbreaking arrangement will also leave the red brand in a strange transition state after their deal with the USA Network expires.

WWE’s Lack Of A Plan

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that WWE doesn’t have anything arranged at this time for RAW’s final months in 2024. Their deal with the USA Network is up in September, and there is no home for the red brand until their Netflix deal starts in January next year.

“RAW will end on the USA network on the last week of September, and it will debut on Netflix on the first week of January 2025, so we have three months where we don’t know anything. On the investor’s call, it was brought up — the three months — and one thing that was very clear is that they have no idea. They expect that it will be somewhere, they told me that they’d have something to announce relatively soon, and now here we are, and not only do they not have anything to announce, but when they did their perspective of 2024, you know as far as money and profits, their predictions of 2024 were lower.”

Looking Ahead For WWE Television

It was then noted that since WWE has nothing in line for RAW during October, November and December 2024, those three months are left without any note next to them on the budget sheet, so they are going to draw no television money at this point.

WWE is in a tough spot here, because any network would love to have RAW, because it would draw a lot of viewers. The problem is that the show would be entering the situation with the intention of going to Netflix as soon as 2025 starts.

WWE NXT is also leaving USA Network, as the CW is picking up that weekly show in October. As of this writing, we still have no official announcement of WWE’s plan for October through December this year when it comes to RAW.

WWE may already have a television arrangement in line for RAW for the last three months of the year. If that is true, then that begs the question about why WWE hasn’t announced those plans yet. At this point, it is affecting WWE’s overall earnings to leave three months blank before their jump to Netflix.

SEScoops will keep a close eye on this story for more updates. You never know what will happen next in the pro wrestling world, especially when it comes to television rights deals.

WWE Roster Boost: Incoming Superstar Could Be Addition To Roman Reigns’ Bloodline

0

Roman Reigns has been very good to his family with the Bloodline stable. Their family tree is extensive, and there may be more room at the table for an incoming star who already has a veteran’s level of experience.

Tama Tonga did his thing in NJPW for years, but now it is reported that he is coming to WWE. His exact start date has not been mentioned yet, but there could be a massive role waiting on him whenever that day comes to make his debut for WWE after years of interest from both sides.

It is theorized that Tama Tonga’s role in WWE may involve becoming a member of The Bloodline. The faction considers him family, and his impending arrival could be perfect timing for a WrestleMania moment.

Tama Tonga’s Possible WWE Future

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that it is very possible that Tama Tonga may join The Bloodline when he makes his way to WWE. He is considered family by everyone in the faction.

“He’s on his way, I don’t know the role, but you know very likely at some point could be part of the Bloodline situation, because he’s considered family by all those guys, so if they need somebody new, it could be him.”

It was noted that Tonga is done with NJPW, and he was talking with WWE a year ago as well. “He should start pretty soon,” Meltzer concluded.

The Bloodline’s Future in WWE

WWE introduced Solo Sikoa to the Bloodline fold at Clash at the Castle in 2022, and that was the last addition to the stable, other than Sami Zayn’s program with the faction. It could be very possible that Tama Tonga might add a new flavor to the mix that will give the Bloodline saga even more time.

SEScoops will have complete coverage of this story, and so many more, in the pro wrestling world. Keep checking back for more updates as additional information is available.

The Rock Gives Big to Foundation After Couple Loses Daughter to Cancer

0

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has opened his heart and his wallet to a couple who are grieving the loss of their daughter.

In an emotional video shared on his Instagram account, Johnson spoke about Esperenza and Edwin, who recently lost their daughter Lily Rose to cancer. The couple have started a foundation in her name to help families who went through the same trauma they are experiencing.

In the video, Johnson explains how Lily Rose was a big fan of Maui, his character from the Disney hit Moana. The Brahma Bull then gave the pair a $50,000 donation to their foundation.

The Rock’s Generosity

This is by no means the first time that Johnson has shown his generous side. In June of last year, The Rock bought a home for WWE’s Tamina Snuka, and has previously bought a car and other massive purchases for his mom. Last September, he ensured that a fan who a U.S. serviceman who received a fake autograph received a genuine one, among other gifts.

What’s Next?

The Rock will be a part of this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown, and will be on the subsequent two weeks of programming. The newest member of The Bloodline, The Rock is expected to have a significant role at WrestleMania 40.

At WWE Elimination Chamber 2024, Cody Rhodes challenged The Rock to go one on one. Seth Rollins reminded Rhodes that it’s never one-on-one with The Bloodline. It is believed a tag match, pitting Rhodes & Rollins against Rock & Roman Reigns could headline WrestleMania 40: Saturday.

WWE:

– Virgil passed away at 61-years-old. This was a terrible loss for the pro wrestling world, and our thoughts are with his family and friends at this time.

Billy Jack Haynes was officially charged with second degree murder.

The Rock has publicly spoken out after his former co-star Rebecca Ferguson said she was abused during the shooting of a movie.

Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins appeared on Hot One, and that was quite an episode for the real-life married couple.

Matt Riddle confirmed that it was cocaine that was responsible for his suspension from WWE. As we’ve mentioned several times, WWE doesn’t even care about positive THC tests anymore, but cocaine is enough to warrant a suspension.

Shawn Spears explained why he returned to WWE after his AEW exit.

AEW:

– Sting appeared for his final episode of AEW Dynamite this week, and he did so by coming down from the rafters, just like he used to over 20 years ago in WCW. That was quite a moment, and it went viral as well.

AEW may have spoiled MJF’s return to television with a new logo drop.

– Sadly, Meat Madness is not going down at AEW Revolution as some fans thought.

Paul Wight reflected on what he’s learned from Sting. Obviously, The Icon has done a lot to inspire a generation and many more after that.

R-Truth On Shawn Michaels: ‘I See A Lot Of Shawn Michaels In Him’

0

R-Truth has been wowed with what he’s seen from Shawn Michaels, who Truth believes could be the next, well, Shawn Michaels.

On social media, WWE shared a clip of Truth gushing praise to an unseen individual. Truth was clearly under the impression that he was speaking to Johnny Gargano.

“Johnny Gargano, Johnny Wrestling. Hey dawg, DIY is blowing up right now. Y’all hot. I’m telling you, just from me, I see a lot of Shawn Michaels in you, yes I do. If you keep doing what you’re doing, you could be the next Heartbreak Kid.”

The camera then pans to reveal that Truth was speaking to the actual Shawn Michaels. The bewildered head of NXT closes the door on Truth who said he needs to speak with Ciampa.

What’s Next?

Truth’s comedy antics have proven to be a hit with the WWE Universe, many of whom hope to see the veteran rewarded with a WrestleMania spot. Some believe Truth could challenge Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER soon enough given comments by the Austrian on Raw. Others believe that a tag match would be more fitting, pitting Truth and The Miz against Truth’s ‘allies’ in the Judgment Day.

As for Shawn Michaels, his future will see him continue to lead WWE NXT as its creative head. The gold brand will host its Roadblock special episode next week. In April, WWE NXT will host its Stand & Deliver event the same day as WrestleMania 40: Saturday. No matches have been announced for the latter show at this time.

AEW President Tony Khan recently announced that multiple wrestlers who were set to be added to the match are currently out of action. Thereby, Meat Madness will no longer be taking place at AEW Revolution. However, it has been replaced with an All-Star Scramble match which will take place.

Tony Khan announces the replacement

Ahead of AEW Dynamite, Tony Khan revealed that Meat Madness will be happening when the injured wrestlers make their return as he he’s ‘temporarily freezing the bout.’ He then announced that Sunday’s pay-per-view will see an All-Star Scramble match.

With multiple wrestlers slated for #AEWRevolution’s Meat Madness match out injured + shelved by AEW docs, I’m temporarily freezing the bout until they’re clear

Meat Madness is on ice; instead Sunday’s ppv will feature an All-Star Scramble Match!

See you tonight on #AEWDynamite!

Billy Jack Haynes Charged with Second Degree Murder

0

We have an update on former WWE star Billy Jack Haynes regarding a fatal shooting that took place earlier this month.

Haynes was apprehended after cops were called to his home in the Lents neighborhood of Portland. Following the gunfire, authorities were called and Haynes “eventually came out” of the house. He was taken into custody following a prolonged confrontation with the offices.

Two hours later, Haynes was moved to prison. Everybody in his area was instructed to remain inside their homes throughout the standoff. In later reports, it was stated that Janette Becraft, Billy Jack Haynes’ wife, was found dead. It was allegedly from a shooting.

However, the identities of those involved remained undisclosed in the original reports. Previously, reports stated that Haynes would face murder charges, but would be brought as soon as he was discharged from the hospital.

Update on Billy Jack Haynes

PW Insider reported that Billy Jack Haynes was released from the hospital on February 28 and was immediately arrested and charged with Murder in the Second Degree and Unlawful Use of a Weapon concerning the death of his wife in Portland, Oregon several weeks ago.

Haynes is currently being held at the Multnomah County Detention Center. He had not been charged or brought into custody as he was hospitalized after being taken into custody for a medical issue not related to his arrest.

Haynes had been a popular talent in the Portland area and had wrestled for the WWF/E in the late 1980s. He also appeared in World Class Championship Wrestling in Florida and WCW (under the name Black Blood). Jim Crockett Promotions, New Japan, and other territories among the various promotions.

Haynes parted ways with the WWF at the beginning of 1988 amid some controversy. Haynes is said to have left the WWF after turning down to job in Portland, Oregon, his hometown. According to another angle, he wrestled the match and agreed to the outcome, but he was fired later.

This is a developing situation and we will keep you updated when more details emerge. Keep an eye on SEScoops to get the latest updates.

AEW’s New Trademark May Have Spoiled A New Pay-Per-View And The Return of a Huge Star

0

A trademark filing by All Elite Wrestling may have revealed the promotion’s next pay-per-view which would join the company’s growing list of annual events.

AEW has filed a trademark for the term ‘AEW Dynasty.’ The filing cites the following uses:

“AEW: DYNASTY trademark registration is intended to cover the categories of entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Entertainment services in the nature of live wrestling performances; Entertainment services in the nature of production of wrestling programs and events; Entertainment services, namely, an ongoing multimedia program featuring wrestling distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; Entertainment services, namely, production and distribution of ongoing television programs in the field of wrestling.”

A New Pay-Per-View?

According to Fightful Select, the trademark is connected to a pay-per-view/special show, which is potentially slated for April. AEW has yet to host a pay-per-view in April but holds Revolution in March and Double or Nothing in May.

A Returning Star?

The AEW Dynasty name has raised some eyebrows, with some believing it could mark the return of a former AEW World Champion. Outside of AEW, MJF was part of The Dynasty, which included himself, Alexander Hammerstone, Richard Holliday, and others. Holliday, who overcame cancer last year, was backstage at a July 2023 edition of AEW Collision.

AEW’s Growing Schedule

When AEW launched, it did so with four annual events: Revolution, Double or Nothing, All Out, and Full Gear. Since then, the company has doubled that number with the introduction of AEWxNJPW: Forbidden Door, All In, WrestleDream, and Worlds End.

CMLL Stars At Risk As 20 U.S. Work Visas Set To Be Canceled By Government

0

A situation involving work visas in the United States could prove catastrophic for CMLL and its partnership with All Elite Wrestling.

PW Insider reports that the U.S. work visas for 20 CMLL performers in Mexico are in the process of being canceled by the U.S. government. If this happened, it could be months before new visas to go through the approval process and be issued.

The CMLL stars at risk include:

  • Volador Jr.
  • Hechicero
  • Mascara Dorada
  • Blue Panther
  • Dulce Gardenia
  • El Sagrado
  • El Suicida
  • Electrico
  • Espiritu Negro
  • Euforia
  • Fugaz
  • Gemel
  • Diablo 1
  • Diablo 2
  • Magico
  • Robin
  • Sangre Imperial
  • Soberano
  • Templario
  • Referee Sagaz

Why the Visas Are at Risk

Sources close to the situation said that visa blowup is a result of Texas independent wrestling promotion Full Blown Pro Wrestling, which had sponsored the group visas for CMLL talent, running into issues with CMLL management. CMLL head Salvador Lutteroth had placed other employees, one of whom was heading up the legal department for CMLL but has since left the promotion, in charge of the visa process.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security contacted FBP2 promoter Jerry Cadena with questions regarding the visas. He was informed that he could be accused of fraud if the vias were flagged. Cadena then contacted CMLL about working together to iron out the problem but CMLL’s side claimed they would take care of the issue via the United States Embassy in Mexico.

What’s Next?

Unless something massive changes very soon, the aforementioned talents won’t be able to legally perform in the U.S. until a new work visa is acquired. This could take months to iron out, and could be as long as a year.

Several CMLL talents have matches booked for WrestleMania week in Philadelphia. Of course these matches would have to be scrapped in the event of their visas no longer being legal. There’s also the question as to what this would mean for AEW. Volador Jr., Hechicero, and Mascara Dorada have all competed for AEW as of late and this situation will impact which CMLL stars AEW can call upon to work events.

Watch: Sting Brings Back Classic Entrance For Final AEW Dynamite Appearance

0

The legendary career of Sting will end this week, but the Icon is going out in style as seen with his appearance on this week’s Dynamite.

The February 28, edition of AEW Dynamite served as the go-home show before Revolution 2024. The event saw AEW World Champion Samoa Joe, Hangman Page, and Swerve Strickland collide ahead of their title match this Sunday.

Sting’s Epic Entrance

During AEW Dynamite, Matthew and Nicholas Jackson were on the hunt for Sting but couldn’t find the WWE Hall of Famer anywhere. During the show, they were blindsided by Darby Allin but were able to overcome the AEW World Tag Team Champion thanks to their numbers advantage.

Even when Ric Flair showed up to help Allin, he was outmatched by the AEW EVPs. That is when Sting’s music hit and the Jackson brothers made their way to the ramp, ready to attack the Icon.

The pair hadn’t counted on Sting descending from the rafters in WCW fashion, earning a huge pop from the fans in attendance. With his signature black baseball bat, Sting sent his challengers packing in an epic moment from Dynamite.

What’s Next?

Sting will compete in his final match this weekend at AEW Revolution 2024. He and Allin will defend the AEW World Tag Team Championships against the Young Bucks. The show will take place at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina. Darby Allin has a special entrance planned for Sting at the show

Watch: What Happened With Sting After Dynamite Went Off Air

0

Tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite built as ‘Sting’s Final Dynamite’ was an emotional show for many fans and the company did not disappoint when it came to helping people relive the nostalgia one more time before The Icon’s final match this Sunday.

Throughout the show, The Young Bucks were looking for the wrestling veteran but they failed to find him backstage. They finally came down to the ring after the main event match between Chris Jericho and Atlantis Jr.

The EVPs were confronted by a bunch of fans in Sting masks, one of whom turned out to be Darby Allin. Though having the number’s advantage, they took out the former TNT champion. The duo also took out Flair when he turned on them.

This is when Sting’s music finally hit and the Bucks went to the ramp to confront the wrestling legend. Sting however, came from the rafters one final time and used his bat to take down their Revolution opponents. The show ended with Allin nailing Matthew Jackson with a Coffin Drop as Sting delivered a Scorpion Death Drop to Nicholas.

What Happened After Dynamite

The heels retreated to the back after the broadcast ended. Although Sting and Darby Allin remained in the ring and the former WCW Champion addressed the crowd after Dynamite went off air.

In his address, Sting thanked the fans for their support throughout the years. He also put over both Darby Allin and Ric Flair for helping him in his final run.

The Young Bucks will be challenging Sting and Darby for the AEW World Tag Team Championships in a Tornado tag team match at this Sunday’s Revolution PPV.

You can tune in to SEScoops for all the updates during the show.

Matt Riddle Believes WWE Had One Million Reasons To Release Him

0

Matt Riddle wants to explore free agency after a few years in WWE.  He was cut from the company in 2023,  along with many other superstars. Although he’s making strides on the independent wrestling scene, another year in WWE could’ve earned him a big payday.

In an interview with Ariel Helwani, Riddle shared that he believes there were several reasons he was let go, including his airport incident and failed drug test. He also shared that he was set to make $1 million before he was released, which could have influenced WWE’s decision.

“…It was written in my contract that I was going to make a $1 million this upcoming year guaranteed, which was a lot more than I was making last year and a lot more than what I was making a year before that, so I think there were multiple variables that played into my departure,” said Riddle.

‘The King Of Bros’ also addressed if he believes WWE merging with UFC to form TKO Group Holding was a factor in being released. Riddle was a former UFC fighter and had issues with the organization. However, he thinks his contract was the more significant reason for his departure.

Matt Riddle Thinks Contract Played Bigger Role In Departure Than WWE & UFC Merging

When responding to Helwani’s question about TKO Group Holding playing a role in his release, Riddle believes it was minimal if it did. He feels the pay increase and his value at the time hurt his chances of sticking around with the company.

“…I think at the end of the day, it was a complete business move and one thing that I have noticed with all of these guys, just like I failed a bunch of drug tests and got fired from the UFC. Other people have failed drug tests and still have jobs,” said Riddle. He continued, “…I think, for the most part, it was a money thing. I think maybe my value went down a little bit, and for the amount they were still paying me or guaranteed to pay me, I honestly think that played a bigger factor than anything.”

Riddle noted that talent like Mustafa Ali and Nic Nemeth were let go, so the company wasn’t just looking at behind-the-scenes issues and was trying to cut costs.

Since then, WWE hasn’t had mass talent releases, and the hope is that they won’t anytime soon.

The Rock Responds To Rebecca Ferguson’s Story Of Being Abused On Movie Set

0

The Rock is known to stick up for people who he’s worked with, especially if they are in his circle of friends. It seems that one of his former co-stars went through a bad experience, and Dwayne Johnson wants to handle things in his own way.

Rebecca Ferguson disclosed during an episode of the Reign with Josh Smith podcast that she had confronted an actor on a film set after they directed abusive remarks toward her.

Rebecca Ferguson Speaks Out

During the interview, she said, “I did a film with an absolute idiot of a co-star, and this human being was being so insecure and angry, because this person couldn’t get the scenes out, and I think I was so vulnerable and uncomfortable that I got screamed at, and I would cry walking off set.”

Her revelation has led to speculation about the identity of the actor. Ferguson did not specify the gender of the individual. Notably, Ferguson is presently featured in Dune: Part Two. Ferguson has eliminated Hugh Jackman and Tom Cruise from consideration, both of whom she appeared alongside in The Greatest Showman and Mission Impossible.

The Rock seemingly distanced himself from the online speculation by expressing his support for Ferguson, with whom he collaborated on the film Hercules in 2014.

Hate seeing this but love seeing her stand up to bullsh*t. Rebecca was my guardian angel sent from heaven on our set. I love that woman. I’d like to find out who did this.

Internet Detectives Are on the Case

In case you’re wondering, internet detectives are on the case. One fan posted in response to The Rock’s tweet to say, “LMAO thanks for tweeting it this and helping us narrow it down. Has to be Hugh Grant, then he’s the only one where she doesn’t have any press photos/ red carpet photos next to him. She has multiple photos with Fassbinder and Jake Gyllenhaal.”

We will have to see if the mystery is ever solved, but The Rock is 100% behind Ferguson, and he’s not going to stand for anyone treating her in a negative fashion.

Cosmically Impotent: Bryan Danielson Issues Bold Challenge To Elon Musk

0

Bryan Danielson has something to say to Elon Musk, and he isn’t too impressed with the Tesla founder’s mindset at this point. Never one to back down from anyone, Bryan Danielson has now challenged Elon Musk in notable fashion.

While co-hosting The Nikki & Brie Show with his wife, Brie Garcia, Bryan Danielson had quite a good time. He filled in due to Nikki Garcia’s absence. In the process, he stirred up some headlines.

During a segment where Brie promoted their show and the Garcia TikTok, Bryan directed his attention towards Twitter/X, where he expressed discontent with the platform. He remarked, “You know what’s more upsetting to me than TikTok? It’s actually Twitter.”

When Brie mentioned discussions about cleaning up Twitter, Bryan boldly announced his intention to challenge Elon Musk on the platform. This was a challenge that few saw coming.

Danielson asserted that Musk lacks the capability to destroy the moon and labeled him as “cosmically impotent.” Bryan emphatically stated, “Elon Musk, you’re cosmically impotent. You can’t blow up the moon.”

Now, the challenge awaits Musk’s response, although it remains uncertain whether Musk will engage in this cosmic debate. We will have to see if he actually has anything to say to the AEW star. At this point, you never know what kind of battle we will see waged next.

SEScoops will have continued coverage of this story, and many more, so keep checking back for more updates.

Additionally, WWE entered into an Independent Services Contractor and Merchandising Agreement with Johnson and his affiliates, wherein Johnson agreed to provide promotional services to WWE.

Dwayne Johnson is a business, man

Under the terms of the agreement, Johnson will license the assigned IP and his name and likeness to WWE for use in certain licensed products related to professional wrestling for up to 10 years. In exchange for his services and the IP licenses, Johnson received restricted stock units worth $30,000,007 in Class A common stock.

The Johnson Equity Award will vest in stages: 25% immediately, 25% upon completion of specified services, 25% by December 31, 2024, and the remainder in equal monthly installments from January 31, 2025, to December 31, 2025.

Cashing in on his brands

Prior to this agreement, Johnson received annual royalties from WWE for his appearances in WWE-produced content, merchandise, and services, totaling approximately $491,000 for the year ended December 31, 2023.

Following the agreement, Johnson will continue to receive annual royalties from WWE and will also earn royalties from licensed products utilizing the assigned IP and his intellectual property rights, as outlined in the Johnson Services Agreement.

This comes after Johnson was appointed to TKO Group Holdings Board of Directors in January. He said at the time:

“My grandfather, High Chief Peter Maivia, and my dad, Rocky ‘Soulman’ Johnson, would’ve never thought this day would come. Which is why I’m very humbled to have a seat at the table that has decades of history and family legacy for me. A table that my family helped to build. Being on the TKO Board of Directors, and taking full ownership of my name, ‘The Rock’, is not only unprecedented, but incredibly inspiring as my crazy life is coming full circle.”

Matt Riddle Says Cocaine, Not Weed, Led to Failed WWE Drug Tests

0

It wasn’t weed that led to Matt Riddle violating WWE’s wellness policy, despite what some may believe, but instead the use of cocaine, the ex-Superstar has revealed.

Riddle, alongside other wrestlers, was released from the promotion in September of last year, mere days after WWE parted ways with over 100 staff members from their offices in Stamford. Riddle was one of the biggest names released from WWE, a list that includes Dolph Ziggler, Mustafa Ali, Shelton Benjamin, and others.

Matt Riddle On Using Cocaine In WWE

During his time on WWE’s main roster, Riddle was subject to stop-start pushes, which many fans at the time suspected was due to the usage of drugs. Speaking on the MMA Hour this week, Riddle said he failed wellness tests in WWE after testing positive for the usage of cocaine.

“I went to the strip club and did cocaine a couple times. I failed a drug test for that. That was for all of them, it was cocaine each time.”

Riddle added that WWE did not indicate as to when talent would be tested. After failing two tests in short succession, Riddle vowed to clean up his act. True to his word, Riddle’s next tests came back negative, but after he decided to celebrate with some partying, a random test came back positive. Later in the interview, he addressed his time in rehab.

“They can’t make you do anything, but it’s ‘go or…’ ‘Okay, I’ll go.’ I went for the 30 days, I left, and when I left, they made a recommendation that they wanted me to stay for another 30 days and I was like, ‘I said I would do 30 days, I don’t want to do another 30 days.’ I missed Christmas and New Year’s. I learned my lesson.”

What’s Next for Riddle?

Though he’s no longer with WWE, Matt Riddle has bounced back nicely. The Original Bro debuted in New Japan last month and very recently captured the NJPW World Television Championship. Riddle has also returned to Major League Wrestling. He will be a part of tomorrow evening’s Intimidation Games event, where he will defend his NJPW World TV Title against Big Bad Tito.

The wrestling world has shared its condolences and memories of Mike ‘Virgil’ Jones, who passed away earlier today at the age of 61.

Jones, who also competed as Vincent in WCW, passed away peacefully in hospital, according to family friend Mark Charles III. He had been battling health issues for some time before his death. Jones was diagnosed with dementia in 2022 and also suffered two minor strokes that year as well.

Tributes to Mike ‘Virgil’ Jones

Several wrestling names have shared their tributes to the former Million Dollar Champion following his death. On Twitter, Jake Roberts said he was shocked and saddened by the news of Jones’ passing.

Teil Rhodes of the famed Rhodes wrestling family shared a story of being the subject of a ‘rib’ by Virgil and Ted DiBiase Sr.

Matt Cardona also shared his tribute to Virgil on Twitter.

Marc Mero said he was sorry to hear of the death of his fellow former WWE Superstar. Mero also included a photo of himself and Virgil.

Shane ‘Hurricane’ Helms recalled watching the long-suffering Virgil turn on DiBiase in early 1991. Helms would channel the moment in his own wrestling career years later.

Matt Hardy had fond memories of the “funny, unique” Jones who was always “cool” to him in the business.

WWE’s Kayla Braxton never had the chance to know Jones but issued her support for those who knew him and loved him.

Maxine Dupri Receives Support From Rhea Ripley and More

0

WWE and other superstars are standing up for Maxxine Dupri after her recent performance at a live event. A video circulated recently of the Alpha Academy member being booed and ridiculed after a match during a WWE house show tour. This led to the WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley being among the first superstars to speak out for her peers.

Pushing Back Against Negativity

On Twitter, Ripley called out the fans in attendance for their actions. She also noted that wrestling is still new to Dupri but that she is actively trying to learn and improve.

“I really wish that some of you got booed and ridiculed in the public eye while being new at your job. Learning and getting better is all apart of being human. Be better as humans,” wrote Ripley.

As the video started circulating on social media, other wrestlers and fans publicly supported Dupri. Zelina Vega shared her thoughts on the situation on Twitter and spoke highly of the new WWE superstar.

“This is absolutely horrible. She doesn’t deserve that. She’s such a kind soul and works really hard. I would love if the bad parts of the biz don’t harden her heart. They probably just mad cuz they can’t drink your bath water Maxxine,” wrote Vega.

All Elite Wrestling superstar Britt Baker also supported Dupri, leaving a 100 emoji under Ripley’s Twitter post.

Although fans may be critical of Dupri’s in-ring ability, it’s worth noting that she just started wrestling last year.

More On Maxxine Dupri’s WWE Career

WWE fans may recall that Dupri’s initial introduction to the company involved being a manager for Maximum Male Models (ma.ce & man.soor) in 2022. After the group fizzled, she started working as a manager for Alpha Academy last year and gained fan interest.

Her popularity alongside Alpha Academy made them collectively featured ‘babyfaces’ on WWE TV. After a few months as solely a manager, WWE began to involve her in a feud with her faction against The Viking Raiders (Erik, Ivar & Valhalla). She would finally make her in-ring debut teaming with Gable and Otis in a Mixed Tag Team win against The Viking Raiders at WWE Monday Night Raw on  July 3, 2023. Although she seemed limited in-ring for her debut, fans accepted Dupri and showed appreciation for her efforts.

Since then, she has only competed in 12 matches, according to Cagematch. While she may believe she could be better in-ring, she has less than a year of experience and room to improve. Hopefully, the support for other superstars like Ripley will give fans a different perspective and allow Dupri to grow as a performer.

Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch have each clawed their ways to the top of WWE, but can they handle “Wings of Death” spicy hot wings on Hot Ones Versus?

Rollins and Lynch, one of pro wrestling’s premiere married couples, are scheduled to play huge roles in April’s WrestleMania 40 premium live event. Rollins will put his World Heavyweight championship on the line against Drew McIntyre, while Lynch battles Rhea Ripley for the women’s World Championship.

Rollins vs. Lynch on Hot Ones Versus

The rules are simple on Hot Ones Versus. ‘The Man’ and ‘Freakin’ have two choices: Tell the truth, or suffer the wrath of the Last Dab. Whoever eats the most wings, loses.

Young Bucks: We’re So Happy for Cody, AEW’s Founders Have a Lifetime Bond

0

The AEW EVPs share a bond that cannot be broken, no matter if one leaves and joins the promotion’s chief competition.

Alongside Tony Khan, Cody Rhodes, Kenny Omega, and the Young Bucks oversaw the creative of AEW, which was officially announced on January 1, 2019. Since then, AEW has risen dramatically to become the biggest rival to WWE since the demise of WCW in March 2001.

The AEW EVPs Unbreakable Bond

Currently, Matt and Nick Jackson are the only EVPs currently appearing on AEW TV. Kenny Omega remains absent due to his diverticulitis while Cody Rhodes parted ways with AEW in February 2022.

Since then, Rhodes has returned to WWE and is poised to capture the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania. Speaking to SI, the Bucks were pleased to see Cody do well in WWE and addressed the bond they share.

“Cody is the face of the WWE now, and it’s cool to see because we always knew how much of a star he was,” said Nick Jackson. “The founders of AEW will always have a lifetime bond with each other because we all know what we did for wrestling. We talk every week and in a weird way him leaving made us grow more as friends.”

Matt Jackson had similar praise for the American Nightmare and former AEW EVP.

“We’re proud of the things we accomplished with Cody and happy to see him rising to the occasion. We’re all rooting for each other.”

What’s Next?

Cody will challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania. There’s also the possibility he’ll pull double duty at the event. A tag match, pitting Rhodes and Seth Rollins against Reigns and The Rock has been disccused as a Night One headliner.

The future is more clear for the Young Bucks. They will challenge AEW World Tag Team Champions Sting and Darby Allin this weekend at AEW Revolution. The match will be the last of Sting’s career.

Special Entrance Planned For Sting’s Final Match at AEW Revolution 2024

‘The Icon’ Sting will be going out in style this weekend at AEW Revolution, with a special entrance planned for his last match.

In October 2023, Sting announced that he would retire in 2024 at the Revolution pay-per-view. It was at Revolution 2021 that the Stinger made his wrestling debut for AEW, after arriving in the company the previous December.

Special Entrance For Sting

For his final match, Sting and Darby Allin will put their AEW World Tag Team Championships on the line against Matthew and Nicholas Jackson. Sting was initially against the idea of winning the titles (or even challenging for them) but was talked into the idea.

AEW is expected to go all-out (pardon the pun!) for Sting’s final match and give the wrestling legend a proper send off. Speaking to Fanatics View, Darby Allin spoke about plans for his tag-team partner.

“I got a special thing planned for Sting’s final entrance that I’ve been working on. So, we’ll see how everything plays out in Greensboro.”

AEW Revolution 2024

AEW Revolution will take place on Sunday, March 3, from the Greensboro Coliseum from Greensboro, NC. Here is how the card currently stands.
