NXT Star Wants To Win The WWE Women Tag Titles With Mickie James

0

One NXT talent wants to sit under the learning tree of Mickie James even if the legend is not with WWE.

Fallon Henley, who has been building her resume on Shawn Michaels’ version of the black and gold brand, caught a clip of the women’s tag team match on WWE Raw this Monday, and she decided to shoot her shot with James on X. She also pitched an added incentive.

“Mickie James hear me out – what if we saddled up, you taught me to be hardcore country and we went for the WWE Women’s Tag Titles. I’ll bring the drinks!”

The notion that James could make a return to WWE isn’t completley out of the realm of possibility. James kicked down the “forbidden door” of promotions, when she was Impact Knockouts Champion and entered the Royal Rumble in 2022. In a pro wrestling first, Impact gold was proudly displayed on WWE television.

Even just on Raw the past Monday, CM Punk name-dropped Mickie before he signed on to be a member of the WWE Raw roster. Punk noted how he made his WWE debut in this very town of Cleveland, OH with Mickie James at his side before he was sent down to OVW. James even took to X to express her friendship with Punk following the moment.

“That’s my Brother. That’s my Friend.”

Not only does James have the CM Punk ties, but indirectly has a presence on WWE SmackDown as well. James’ husband, Nick Aldis, currently serves as the brand’s on-air general manager.

WWE RAW May Still Find Its Way To Warner Brothers Discovery

0

WWE is still heavy in their television talks for the RAW brand, and a very interesting possible home is still in play. Now, as we close out 2023, it appears that Warner Bros Discovery could be interested in picking up a different pro wrestling show.

What’s Going On For WWE In 2024

SmackDown will return to the USA Network under a recently inked five-year deal, commencing in 2024. The CW will get NXT as well. Fans are curious about the potential impact on the company, and the future home for RAW.

There is an opportunity for Monday Night RAW to continue advanced discussions with Warner Bros. Discovery, facilitated by CM Punk. It was previously reported that CM Punk’s addition to the red brand could greatly drive up interest

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer expressed skepticism about SmackDown remaining on Fridays. He also suggested the possibility of RAW shifting to a different night, with anticipated news on this matter within the next two weeks. The big idea in play is WBD’s interest, which could really shake up the pro wrestling world.

“I think that there will be stuff in the next couple of weeks most likely. It could be the final deal…it could end up with the status quo. It’s not impossible. It could end up with incredible differences. Just got to wait it out and see. The main thing though is WWE and WBD is not a dead deal and it appeared to be a dead deal before. If they take the deal, it would require WBD to spend well over $350 million per year…WBD may not want to go that high anyway.”

What We Know So Far

WWE’s fees for Friday Night SmackDown have increased by nearly 40% with the new USA Network agreement. The coming year will reveal whether SmackDown thrives on its return to the USA Network, and if both SmackDown and RAW undergo significant schedule changes.

Of course, AEW is on Warner Brothers Discovery, and WWE RAW moving to that platform could really throw a wrench in Tony Khan’s plans. We will have to see what happens, because the pro wrestling world has been incredibly unpredictable so far.

WWE will make a ton of money on RAW’s next television deal, as they are already making a killing on SmackDown’s new contract. At this time, anything seems to be on the table, even moving nights of the week. That would also cause fans to have to reprogram their weekly viewing habits, which is not as big of a task in today’s age where streaming reigns supreme.

The Rock Set to Play Former UFC Fighter In New Film

0

The Rock (Dwayne Johnson) has bagged a role as a former UFC fighter in a new A24 movie, ‘The Smashing Machine,’ based on his nickname due to his extreme fighting style. It will be directed by one-half of the Uncut Gems duo, Benny Safdie.

‘The Great One’ managed to establish himself as one of the highest-paid Hollywood actors and has delivered some incredible performances in blockbuster action movies. His roles in popular franchises like Fast & Furious, GI Joe, and elevated his acting career.

The Rock will be starring as Mark Kerr

Now, the former WWE superstar will be starring as mixed martial arts fighter and two-time UFC Heavyweight Tournament Champion Mark Kerr in the upcoming movie.

It has come to light that the pro-wrestler-turned-actor The Rock and Safdie, who authored and will film the feature (his first solo directorial endeavor), have been working on the project since 2019.

A24 will finance the new film, as well as produce alongside Johnson and Dany Garcia’s Seven Bucks Productions, Safdie’s Out for the Count banner, Eli Bush and David Koplan.

Here is what A24’s Noah Sacco said:

“Dwayne and Benny are singular talents, and their shared vision for Mark’s inspiring story is electrifying. We are deeply honored to have their trust as collaborators in bringing this incredibly special project to life.”

There is another documentary on Mark Kerr that was released in 2002. The HBO documentary ‘The Smashing Machine’ depicted Kerr’s professional career and rise in combat sports and documented Kerr’s battle with a painkiller addiction that resulted in an overdose.

The Rock’s upcoming projects include Red Notice 2, the sequel to the highly-budgeted Netflix action comedy of the same name. The Amazon action comedy Red One is also lined up which will see him co-starring alongside Chris Evans. He is represented by WME and Gang Tyre.

On the other hand, Safdie’s recent projects include Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, Judy Blume adaptation ‘Are You There God?’ ‘It’s Me, Margarette’, and Showtime series ‘The Curse’, represented by WME and Untitled Entertainment.

Grayson Waller Wants Feud with CM Punk: “I’m Not Here to be Your Fanboy!”

0

Grayson Waller is ready to test himself against former World Champion CM Punk, both in the ring and in a battle on the mic.

Punk appeared on last week’s episode of SmackDown, in his first appearance on the blue brand in close to a decade. The former World Champion held nothing back in his promo and referenced Randy Orton, Kevin Owens, and teased a confrontation with Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns. CM Punk also gave a nod to his firing from AEW All In this past September.

Grayson Waller on CM Punk

CM Punk has had the wrestling world hooked on his every word and move, and Grayson Waller is also taking notice of the Best in the World. Speaking with Justin LaBar of Busted Open Radio, Waller was asked about the arrival of the ex-AEW star.

“It’s great to have Punk back because obviously he’s a big name, he’s a big star. I got to sit backstage at SmackDown last Friday and sit in the Gorilla position and watch him go out and talk. It’s a different vibe. For me personally, I’m not going to go and ask for advice and kiss his ar*e. That’s not who I am. But I am going to sit back and watch him do it and I’m going to take some notes in my head. That promo he did on Friday, especially hearing the live crowd and everything, was cool.”

Waller added that he met with Punk at SmackDown and also saw the Best in the World backstage at this week’s WWE NXT.

“I saw Punk backstage at SmackDown Friday and I’m going to leave it there. I don’t think anyone needs to know what that interaction was. Let’s just say, we talked.

“I was at NXT last night doing some stuff and he was there talking to all the young guys, giving them feedback, giving them advice. So he’s coming back and he’s doing everything he can to help. But Grayson Waller’s not that guy. I don’t wanna sit back and hear his advice. I don’t want to wear his merch shirt. I don’t want to put up a video of me at 12 years old telling Punk he’s the best. That’s not who I am.

Like Punk, Waller has impressed many on the mic, and would love to test his skills against Punk when the time is right.

“I want to test myself against him. Not just in the ring, but on the mic because that guy’s one of the best of all time… So I appreciate what you’ve done for the business, but I’m not here to be your fanboy, I’m here to be a competitor.”

More Backstage Talk

While we don’t know what Waller and Punk discussed, the Aussie wasn’t the only one Punk chatted with backstage. It has been reported that Punk was approached about appearing at NXT Deadline while attending SmackDown. The former AEW World Champion (donned in a Bret Hart hoodie) shared a segment with Shawn Michaels during the opening moments of the show.

Lacey Evans Has No Regrets Having a Baby in WWE Run Shares Original Ric Flair Plans

0

Macey Estrella does not regret taking time away from WWE to welcome another child into the world, the ex-Lacey Evans has revealed.

In early 2021, Estrella began an on-screen romance with Ric Flair, who betrayed his daughter Charlotte in the process. A month later however, Estrella would announce on TV that she was pregnant. Despite initial beliefs that this was an angle and Flair would be revealed as the father, Estrella later confirmed she was having an actual baby.

Macey Estrella on Being a Mom

This pregnancy would see Estrella become a mom of a baby girl for the second time in her life. Speaking on the Insight podcast, Estrella made it clear that parenthood has been important to her from a young age.

“I’ve always wanted to be a mom. Unlike a lot of women, I’ve been with my husband since I was 15. We got married at 19. Since 16 years old, we’ve been picking our our kids’ names. We’ve always wanted to be a mom and a dad.”

While Estrella wanted to have a second child, she realized during her career in WWE that she was spending all her time on her career, rather than her personal goal.

“When I was in WWE… [I thought] Man, I’m really giving my husband the s****y end of the stick here. He loves me and he supports me to the fullest but where are all of our babies at? Where is the sound of feet on our hardwood floors and the smell of bacon in the morning? Instead, we’re on a plane at 3:30 in the morning heading out to, I just thought, man.”

Speaking with Vince McMahon

With Estrella refusing to freeze her eggs, the ex-Superstar realized that her biological clock was ticking for a second child. Speaking on Insight, Estrella recalled going to see Vince McMahon about taking time off.

“I went to Vince and I said ‘Hey Sir, I’m not being used and I want to have a baby.’ I won’t if you plan on using me. I’ll stand by and it’s Covid. I’m not being used and it’s Covid. He kind of got quiet and he says ‘Go have a baby.’ And I made sure because that man, that man is f***ing awesome. He has done a lot for me and my family. And I was just very thankful to be in that room having that discussion and having that opportunity.

“That was the game plan, I wasn’t being used and next thing you know, Talent-Creative [say] ‘Oh you’re going to be with Ric Flair and Charlotte’. And I’m like what the f**k?… Well I’ll be damned that the week before I’m supposed to get the title, I have my baby. And it was the best feeling in the world. That my husband now has another child he’s going to hold in his arms in nine months.”

Estrella would not win the Raw Women’s Championship in early 2021 as planned, nor would she compete in a title match at that year’s WrestleMania as initially envisioned. Even though she never got close to holding a title again, Evans is against the notion that her decision was a bad one.

“A lot of people say I ruined my career and this and that. But this morning I woke up and saw that little s**t looking at me with a big smile on her face and my husband waking up. You can’t tell me I ruined anything. I got exactly what I wanted.”

Estrella on Working with Ric Flair

Estrella’s pregnancy instantly ended her storyline with Ric Flair. On the show, the former Superstar explained what was supposed to come from her on-screen romance with the Nature Boy.

“It was typical heel, to go after the title and get it. And I was supposed to get it.  But fortunately, Sunny Loretta decided that she was coming.”

Lacey Evans: WWE Was Incredible But Never My Passion. I Don’t Miss It At All

0

Former WWE Superstar Macey Estrella is grateful for the opportunities WWE afforded her, but does not miss her time in the ring one bit.

Estrella competed for years in WWE as Lacey Evans across WWE NXT, Raw, and SmackDown. In August of this year, signs indicated that Evans was set to leave WWE, including her profile being moved to the alumni section of WWE’s website. Evans would leave the promotion and despite the initial belief she had been released, it was confirmed that her contract had instead expired

Macey Estrella Doesn’t Miss WWE

Estrella’s contract expiring means that she did not have to face a 90-day non-compete clause and could have worked with any wrestling promotion after her WWE exit. Despite this, Estrella has not competed for or appeared for any other company. On the Insight podcast, Estrella explained why she is in no hurry to get back in the ring.

“I have had a lot [of offers], obviously, reach out. But I did WWE for seven years, and it was never my passion. That was never a secret. It was incredible to see my fellow Sports Entertainers that that is their passion, but I just knew. I went out there and did the best that I could and did my job. But I always looked forward to coming home. My family traveled with me, everywhere I went for the most part. And that was a struggle, right? Because when I got signed with WWE I was a mom and I was a wife. I’ve been with my husband since I was 15.

“It was an incredible opportunity but it was a lot for whenever you compare what your passion is and WWE is very, very difficult. You’re on the road, well over 300 days a year. They want a lot from you. There was always something in the back of my head going ‘What the f**k am I doing?'”

These days, Estrella can be found running her own coffee shop, which she uses as the premises for several community outreach programs. In the interview, Estrella gave just an example of one of those programs.

“Just last night, we did a big group, outreach, for Alcohol Anonymous but it’s for the families that have family members that struggle with addiction or have lost their lives to overdose. The things that I get to do now and the difference I get to make to me, is so rewarding. Since August 16th [when she was released] I have not once questioned if I’m doing the right thing or if I’m happy.”

When asked if there’s a part of her that misses WWE, Estrella made it clear she’s finished with the promotion.

“Do you want me to lie? No, there’s not. Some people, they wake up and they put on six-inch stilettos and ten pounds of makeup and their extensions and they go walk the red carpet and they feel amazing. I’m not those people. And it was very difficult for me to put on that front.”

Seth Rollins In Captain America, Superstar Swifties, Waller & Melo ‘Reunite’ & More

0

Seth Rollins in Captain America: Brave New World

Captain America: Brave New World will feature Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins and the film is going to be bigger than originally planned. Deadline reports that additional scenes have been filmed for the project, which is slated for a February 2025 release. Marvel has hired Michael Orton (no relation) to pen additional scenes and material. The film had been scheduled for a May 2024 release before it was pushed back due to the now-settled WGA strike.

John Cena’s New Poster

Speaking of movies, John Cena is set to appear in Argylle, a new spy thriller in which a fiction writer learns that the stories she writes are actually happening. On Twitter, Cena spoke about the project and shared the newest poster.

Which Superstars Are Swifties?

Taylor Swift may not be a WWE Superstar but it seems that the music sensation has been quite the talking point in wrestling as of late. Backstage at Monday Night Raw, Jackie Redmond wanted to learn which Superstars are ‘Swifties.’ Chelsea Green, Becky Lynch, The Miz, Nikki Cross, Dominik Mysterio, R-Truth, Cody Rhodes, Piper Niven all gave their favorite Taylor Swift songs, while Damian Priest and Nia Jax were annoyed to be asked. Jey Uso didn’t give a track but said he finds the Cruel Summer artist “beautiful.”

Grayson Waller ‘Reunites’ with Carmelo Hayes

Carmelo Hayes is set to compete in the U.S. Championship Contenders Tournament and will face Grayson Waller in the first round. At a recent WWE photoshoot, Waller confronted Hayes and insinuated that Melo was the one to attack Trick Williams.

Latest On Nick Hogan & Teddy Hart After Recent Arrests

0

Nick ‘Hogan’ Bollea is due to be arraigned later this month following his arrest and DUI charge last month in Florida

Nick, 33, was arrested on Saturday morning just before 4 am in Clearwater, Florida, where cops booked him on suspicion of driving under the influence. The report from law enforcement alleged that Hogan refused to submit to sobriety testing. Nick was returning home from a bikini contest at his father’s restaurant where alcohol was involved. Nick Hogan will be arraigned for misdemeanor DUI on December 18 at 9 AM.

Nick has had several run-ins with the law over the years. In August 2007, Hogan was involved in a car crash in which he crashed into a tree while driving under the influence. This crash came just 16 days after Hogan’s fourth speeding ticket within 11 months. The passenger in the vehicle, John Graziano, suffered massive brain damage due to the crash

Latest on Teddy Hart

Nick Hogan isn’t the only name associated with wrestling to have recent trouble with the law. In July, Teddy Hart was arrested on charges of possession of MDMA (Ecstacy) and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, each of which are both third-degree felonies in Florida.

Hart is slated for a court hearing this morning regarding his arrest. The ‘Early Resolution’ division that Hart is facing often deals with plea deals and attempts to prevent a case from going to a felony trial, so his situation may be resolved at this hearing.

Hart has had several issues with the law, some of which were documented in the Peacock reality series Dangerous Breed. The series looked at Hart’s toxic relationship with women, one of which being Hart’s ex Samantha Fiddler. Fiddler traveled overseas with Hart before he ditched her, reportedly taking her passport with him. To date, she has never been found or heard from and has been missing since 2016.

Mick Foley Picks His Royal Rumble Winner Between Cody Rhodes And CM Punk

0

Mick Foley is hoping that Cody Rhodes will win Royal Rumble this year once again and finally finish his story.

It’s rare for WWE to have more than a month’s gap between two PLEs. This year, however, the company has chosen not to run any main roster PPVs in 2023 after Survivor Series, giving the 2024 Royal Rumble more time to build up stories.

The build-up for Royal Rumble includes many overlapping fueds. One such story is between CM Punk and Cody Rhodes, who are both looking to claim that ultimate WrestleMania spot by winning the Rumble.

During a recent appearance on The Bump, Mick Foley was asked who he would like to win the ultimate Battle Royal between these two. The WWE Hall of Famer explained that fans are ready for Cody to finally win the world title:

“I’d love to see Cody back in the main event picture. Yeah, I really would. I think that’s the perfect ending to his story. I know that fans were bitterly disappointed when Cody did not defeat Roman last year, but he went out on his own and he earned something more important than that WWE title. He earned the respect of all the naysayers.

Brock Lesnar will put you through the ringer. When Brock shook his hand, unexpected, he meant it. He meant it. He’s not a back-padder. He’s not a feel good, people person. He really respected Cody for surviving that and the fans respected it. So now they’re even more ready for Cody to claim that ultimate prize.”

Mick Foley Says Royal Rumble Is The Second Biggest PPV

mick foley cody punk 1

When asked for his advice for talents competing in the rumble, the Attitude Era star mentioned how he’s never won the match himself. Mick Foley, however, did explain that you can still create a memorable impression even if you don’t win the match:

“Let me tell you a quick story. My son Hughie when he was about five. He knew his dad had been a wrestler but he wasn’t alive when I was wrestling. He goes ‘Dad, were you ever in the Royal Rumble?’ I figured I’m gonna grab on to this. I said ‘Not only was I in it, I was in it three times in one night as three different characters,’ And without missing a beat. He looked at me and said, ‘And you still couldn’t win?’ I can’t tell you how to win the rumble.

I can tell you how to make a memorable impression in a rumble. It can only be one winner but that doesn’t mean we can’t have some memorable moments. It doesn’t mean that we can’t have one of the best nights of the year. My feeling is that five years running, I would say Royal Rumble became the second greatest show in WWE, all due respect to SummerSlam and the others.”

TNA Wrestler Savannah Evans Recovering from Knee Surgery

0

Savannah Evans is recovering from a recent knee surgery but is expected to return in time for IMPACT’s move to TNA Wrestling next month

The last time fans saw Evans in a TNA/IMPACT Wrestling ring, she was on the losing end of a tag-team match in September of this year. While Evans has continued to compete on the independent scene, it has been weeks since her most recent match.

Savannah Evans recently underwent knee surgery, PW Insider has confirmed. The procedure took place earlier this month and Evans has been dealing with bone spurs in his knee. The expectation is that Evans should be done recovering and rehabbing in time to return to the ring for the TNA Hard to Kill PPV next month in Las Vegas. The show will take place on January 13, from the Palms Casino Resort in Paradise, Nevada.

Savannah Evans in IMPACT Wrestling

Evans made her IMPACT Wrestling debut in August 2021 and aligned herself with Tasha Steelz. Together, the pair challenged for the IMPACT Knockouts Tag Team Championships but were unsuccessful. Evans’ first win in IMPACT would be quite notable, as she’d win a Monster’s Ball match in the memory of Daffney, which involved Alisha Edwards, Jordynne Grace, and Kimber Lee.

At Multiverse of Matches 2022, Evans and Steelz again challenged for the Knockout Tag Team Championships but were again unsuccessful. More recently, Evans has been teaming with Gisele Shaw and unsuccessfully challenged for the tag team titles at IMPACT Wrestling Victory Road.

AJ Lee: Back in the Ring?

With CM Punk’s return to WWE, many are hopeful that AJ will soon be making a comeback alongside her husband. After Survivor Series: WarGames, AJ Lee’s name trended online. Lee is said to be well-respected within WWE with several Superstars interested in facing her.

‘Hangman’ Page Put Through Windshield by Devil’s Henchman in AEW Dynamite Cliffhanger

0

Adam ‘Hangman’ Page has become the latest victim of The Devil and his henchman in an explosive cliffhanger to end this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite.

During the September 27, episode of AEW Dynamite, a group of masked individuals attacked Jay White. The gang was led by someone wearing MJF’s ‘devil’ mask, immediately pointing the finger of suspicion at the AEW World Champion. MJF has denied that he is the one behind these attacks and his allies in The Acclaimed have also been attacked. Last week, MJF was seen on the ground, seemingly after being attacked, though suspiciously, the attack was never shown.

‘Hangman’ Page Attacked

Moments before being ‘attacked’ last week, MJF accused ‘Hangman’ Page of being the one under the Devil mask. On this week’s show, Samoa Joe also pointed the finger of suspicion at the Cowboy before Roderick Stong argued that MJF was the Devil.

At the end of the show, the Devil’s henchmen attacked Page in the parking lot while the Devil was sat in a car. The masked person then nodded to his assistants, who proceeded to slam Page onto the glass windshield of the car.

Is the Windshield a Clue?

The use of the windshield may be a nod to the Devil being revealed as Jack Perry. The former Jungle Boy caused a stir at AEW All In during his match with Hook in which he made clear the windshield of his vehicle was real glass. Perry was suspended following his backstage altercation with CM Punk though his suspension reportedly ended over a month ago.

The Devil may be an anarchistic force, but he has his own AEW merch which has caught the attention of a WWE NXT Superstar. Click here to find out more.

Chris Jericho Says ‘The Iron Claw’ Will Be “Really Interesting”

0

AEW star Chris Jericho hasn’t watched ‘The Iron Claw’ yet but that doesn’t keep him away from shedding praise on the movie.

‘The Iron Claw’ captures the lives and tragedies of the famous Von Erich wrestling family. The wrestling lineage began with Fritz Von Erich (real name Jack Adkisson,) and his sons would taste success in the squared circle. The Von Erichs are still active in wrestling at present with Marshall & Ross Von Erich competing to this day.

Chris Jericho, who has yet to watch the movie had nothing but praise for the movie as well as the wrestling family.

Chris Jericho comments

While speaking to Dallas News, he said that from what he’s heard, the movie has done a good job and reckoned that it will interesting to watch the Von Erich movie. Here is what he said:

“I haven’t seen the movie yet. I think it’s going to be really interesting. I think a lot of times Hollywood does a terrible job of making wrestling movies. They one exception, of course, is The Wrestler with Mickey Rourke. I think this one, from what I’ve heard, it’s done a good job of that as well.

He further spoke about never meeting a member of Von Erich and he’s quite excited that the family will be attending AEW Dynamite. He added:

“I’ve never met a Von Erich. I know the story as much as anybody else does, just from reading about it. So, I’m excited to kind of see that interpretation. … And I’m actually excited because the Von Erichs are going to be at Dynamite, and that’ll be the first time I’ve ever met a Von Erich ever, in any way, shape or form. So, you know, that’s pro wrestling royalty and such an uplifting story in a lot of ways, such a tragedy in other ways. So it’ll be cool to kind of get a chance to say hi to Kevin and pay respect.”

Meanwhile, Chris Jericho’s former rival and current AEW World Champion MJF had a role in The Iron Claw but his role was originally much bigger than what made the final cut. ‘The Salt of The Earth’ also made his presence felt at ‘The Iron Claw’ Premiere in Los Angeles.

Latest on Ilja Dragunov After Injury Scare at WWE NXT Tapings

0

Reigning WWE NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov was seemingly injured during the latest tapings of the gold brand but things aren’t entirely what they seem.

Dragunov is in his first reign as WWE NXT Champion and won the title from Carmelo Hayes at WWE NXT No Mercy in September. Since then, Dragunov has retained against Hayes, ‘Dirty’ Dominik Mysterio, and Baron Corbin. He is also a former WWE NXT UK Champion.

Ilja Dragunov Injured?

With next week being so close to Christmas, the December 19, episode was filmed this week to give the roster and crew time off to be with their families. It has been reported that Dragunov worked against Ridge Holland for the taping and in photos that emerged online, it appeared the NXT Champion was seriously injured.

This injury couldn’t come at a worse time for the Mad Dragon, who is set to defend the NXT Championship against Trick Williams at New Year’s Evil. Dragunov was also caught up in the storyline with Carmelo Hayes and Lexis King this week, as to who attacked Williams weeks ago. Hayes accused Dragunov of attacking Trick and himself on this week’s show.

Good News

While the images of Dragunov look bad, there is some good news about this matter. In an update, it has been reported that this is part of a storyline. WWE are seemingly playing into the notion that Holland is dangerous in the ring, which some have accused him of ever since the unfortunate Big E incident in March of last year. Big E has said he holds no ill-will to Holland over what happened, as he knows that accidents happen. Some have been far less positive and Holland received death threats on the anniversary of Big E suffering a broken neck.

AEW Dynamite Review 12/13/23: Droste’s Hits & Misses

0

This week’s AEW Dynamite from Arlington, Texas is in the can. What was good? What was bad? What worked? What didn’t?

Let’s dive into Wednesday night’s show.

They started the show off hot with a Samoa Joe coming out for a promo right off the bat, even skipping the Dynamite show intro. The segment quickly evolved into including Hangman Adam Page and Roderick Strong as well. Joe accused Page of being the Devil, while Strong said it was obvious that MJF is.

This flowed right into the first match, featuring Page vs. Strong. They had an excellent match, maybe a little too competitive for my taste considering they teased Page getting into a world title feud with MJF recently and…Strong isn’t exactly on that level. However, the story was that Page was outnumbered by Strong’s crew outside the ring. In the end, Page got the victory. Hot way to start the show.

The Continental Classic Doesn’t Let Up. Good.

The Continental Classic continued with Brody King and Andrade absolutely tearing it up with an outstanding match. I am a bit surprised that Andrade continues to go over in some of these contests given his recently teasing he could be interested in a return to WWE. He went over King here, using an exposed turnbuckle to his advantage.

The Von Erichs (Kevin, Marshall, and Ross) were backstage with an interview with Renee Paquette. Orange Cassidy came in with the Best Friends and said he needs two partners for a match on Rampage and asked the Von Erichs (Marshall and Ross) to team with him. They obliged. Felt like a bit of false advertising to not put the Von Erichs out in front of the crowd on Dynamite since they advertised it in advance, though the live crowd will see them when they tape Rampage later on after Dynamite.

Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho Have An Off Night

The Golden Jets, Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega, came out for a promo in the ring. They explained their lengthy absence was due to getting attacked backstage by Big Bill and Ricky Starks at Full Gear. They were eventually interrupted by Starks and Bill and the segment turned into a back and forth of insults between the teams. Jericho and Omega were a bit off, with Omega even calling the team the Winnipeg Jets at one time (but quickly corrected himself). Omega’s big line was talking about how nobody remembered the storyline with Bill and The Firm, but said that he was more flacid and “sawft.” There was even a mention of Enzo Amore.

They officially announced that Jericho and Omega will challenge for the tag titles against Bill and Starks at Worlds End. Starks came off very well by the end, showing a lot of fire on the microphone. I still have zero interest in seeing Omega and Jericho continue to team as it feels like a waste of Omega.

Riho and Ruby Soho wrestled while Toni Storm did guest commentary with Mariah May at her side. I’ve said it before here in this column, but man, this character with Storm is really flatlining. They need to kick this storyline with May into high gear as it still hasn’t even really begun. Way too slow of a burn here, in my opinion.

Jay Lethal and Rush wrestled in a Continental Classic bout. They mentioned that Lethal would be mathematically eliminated with a loss as he has zero points so far (Rush has 3, though he’s really shined in each match). Maybe surprisingly, Lethal was mathematically eliminated as Rush won with a sleeper hold tap out very quickly. Match only went a few minutes (the fastest of the whole tournament). Lethal was consoled by Jeff and Karen Jarrett, and Sonjay Dutt after the match as he looked frustrated. Rush celebrated with a dude’s beer at ringside and high fived another crowd member so hard I was worried they might have fractured their hand.

Mark Briscoe and Jay White Have A Good One

Mark Briscoe and Jay White wrestled in a Continental Classic tournament match. The announcers did a good job going over the different scenarios for each man to make it to the finals. Crowd was really into this one, with several “Dem Boys” chants.

Very back and forth, with Briscoe charging in right away and hitting the Froggie Bow early. Briscoe took a crazy toss to the outside and also hit an elbow to the outside late. In the end, Briscoe dodged a second Froggie Bow and hit the Blade Runner to get the victory. Excellent match.

The previous result eliminated Rush mathematically from the tournament since White holds a tiebreaking victory over him.

Jon Moxley and Swerve Strickland Delivered

In the main event, Jon Moxley and Swerve Strickland wrestled a Continental Classic match that was my most anticipated television match in quite some time. Strickland is one of the hottest names in all of wrestling right, so I was intrigued with how they’d book this one against one of Moxley’s core main eventers.

Crowd was super hot early until they worked a slow style at the start. If they brawled and started out quick, the place would have been unglued. Each guy tried to get into each other’s head as they struggled for position, with Mox giving Swerve a brief peck of a kiss in the corner, and Swerve returning the favor moments later.

Mox took an early advantage brawling but Swerve then hit a brutal looking DDT to Mox off the second rope. Swerve worked him over on the outside of the ring, but Mox came back with a clothesline out of the corner back in the ring and hit a piledriver for two. Moments later, he trapped Swerve in the ring apron on the outside, then tossed him into the ring steps as they went to commercial.

Mox was still in control throughout the commercial and after until Swerve came roaring back with a backbreaker and some back elbows. Mox reversed a rolling offensive maneuver into a cutter for two, then hit a Gotch-style piledriver for two. They exchanged headbutts and Swerve then hit the Flatliner, a suplex and big boot for two. Strickland then used Moxley’s move, with the continued stomps and back elbows. He then hit his running kick and went up top for the Swerve Stomp but Mox knocked him to the outside.

Mox hit a Stomp and locked in an armbar when Swerve made it back into the ring. Swerve made the ropes for the break. Moxley then went to get a chair, which would have been a DQ loss, but Swerve hit a crossbody over the top to the outside. Back in the ring, Strickland hit the Swerve Stomp off the top for two. Strickland then went for the JML Driver, but Moxley rolled through for the pinfall while holding the tights. Taz sold that Strickland may have had a shoulder up, too. Stricland looked stunned in the ring. Feels like we’re destined for a rematch in the Gold League finals in two weeks.

The show ended with Hangman Adam Page being attacked in the parking lot by the four masked men. The Devil was sitting a car and nodded at his men, who then slammed Page on the windshield of the car.

For The Betterment Of AEW, Tony Khan Needs To Hot Tag In These Duos Behind The Curtain

0

One really couldn’t think of a greater moral compass for a wrestling company than Bryan Danielson. He by all accounts, has the perfect balance of life – one that exists outside of wrestling (which is pretty key if we’re being honest – wrestlers and fans alike). He’s got a family to keep him grounded, causes to be an advocate for and plenty of books to read. He can disassociate from pro wrestling, a career he’s still absolutely passionate about, but bring in out of the ring elements for better synergy.

Even that considered, he’s a team player, extremely considerate and a modern wrestling oracle to pick the brain of. You factor in Jerry Lynn, those two are the ultimate good cops.

You need a bad cop.

A heavy. Someone who doesn’t take any kind of nonsense, looks at the bottom line for what it is. Does “they” or “their actions” or what they’re doing help the growth of the company? If they don’t do such, cut whatever fat there may be. There should be two credible sheriffs in town and that “bad cop” onus should not be burdened upon one of your top on-air talents.

That’s also not saying Tony Khan should recruit a “yes man, either. Being a billionaire, he’s probably got a few already and they’re certainly not helping to grow the product. However, if Tony could take himself out of the equation, and put the trust in the team he’s assembled, he would do wonders for his company. A company that quite frankly, is failing to hit its mark in certain ways.

In addition to a heavy, there’s so many established names who could help better the promotion if he gave them full autonomy to regulate like Nate Dogg and Warren G. And instead of just one, why not make it two? Here are some “tag teams” behind the scenes that Tony Khan could utilize (two of which who currently aren’t under contract).

Jake Roberts & Arn Anderson

Who was equally excited and intrigued at the possibility of Jake Roberts back with a pro wrestling company? Who was also equally disappointed that Arn wasn’t made the most of during his tenure here? Both he and his son Brock were not re-signed when their contracts expired and it feels like a missed opportunity by Tony Khan on both names, who seemed to only associate them with Cody Rhodes’ time here.

How much could that young talent learn from “The Snake” or “The Enforcer”when it comes to promo skills, ring psychology and real life problems?

Re-sign the Andersons and designate Arn and Jake as your Dusty Rhodes to your NXT. Let them filter through the good and the bad before they’re Dynamite ready and don’t let anybody tell them “no” either.

Jeff Jarrett & Jim Ross

Tony Khan admittedly says he overworks himself and that’s why Bryan Danielson appointed Jimmy Jacobs to help as an assistant. Khan did tap into wrestling history when he signed Jeff Jarrett, first as a talent and then as the Senior Vice President of Live Events, but Double J wears a lot of hats. Khan has shown the capability of laying out a great (albeit very long) PPV, but weekly television programming is another story. Actually sometimes there’s so many stories it’s hard to pin good ones down, especially if you’re a casual viewer.

Allowing Jarrett and JR (who currently is away from television), to be your ultimate booking brain trust lends your company to the old school booking mindset, a structure AEW truly needs. Paring two names who learned from the best in the territory days is really only going to help a show that’s too fast-paced and too cluttered.

Karen Jarrett & Mickie James

If you watch the AEW women’s division, you know it feels neglected. Major names and pinnacle storytellers like Thunder Rosa and Britt Baker are currently not competing, and the announcements of any women’s match feels sudden without any pomp, circumstance or substance (with the exception of “Timeless” Toni Storm, of course.)

She may not be under contract with AEW, but Mickie James knows how to book an all-women’s wrestling show. She did that with NWA Empowerrr and she’s doing it again in 2024 in Australia as a part of Starrcast VI.

Karen Jarrett knows how to make the most of her on camera without even doing a hip-toss. Unfortunately for the women, many don’t receive the experience or the opportunity to let their personalities shine. Both these veterans tagging up would do wonders for bringing the AEW women back to relevancy.

Paul Wight & Mark Henry

Remember the aforementioned “heavy”? Taking it figuratively and literally with this these two. Both legends are currently signed with AEW, but not much is being done with either and it’s unfortunate. Wight is someone who’s main-evented and worked with main-eventers his entire career while Henry has been someone who’s wrestled all throughout the card.

You think a talent is going to go off-script or do a dangerous move for a forgettable pop if they have to answer to Wight or Henry afterwards? If they did it would most likely be their last time and that’s not even considering the name cache they. Make these two your “bad cops” and they would know how to maintain a healthy relationship in the locker room.

Matt Hardy & Chris Jericho

From how it sounds, AEW has its fair share of locker room leaders behind the scenes, but what about having two primary checkpoints who have shown the ability to adapt, innovate and sympathize?

Jericho and Hardy have formed friendships with anybody and everybody of whatever status or age, including the AEW EVPs. Maybe they already are, but making them the go-to mediators for any issues between boots and management could cultivate a solid structure within AEW’s loaded ecosystem of stars.

Jerry Lynn & Dustin Rhodes

Nobody should ever have a bad word to say about Jerry Lynn and if you do, you’re likely part of the problem. It’s been too awesome to have Lynn and Dustin Rhodes be a vital part of AEW’s growth and if there’s been chaos backstage, you can guarantee neither have been apart of it.

Giving them the opportunity to harness and harmonize your roster from an in-ring standpoint is likely something that has happened on several occasions. Both have an old-school upbringing, but very different styles, Make them have the final say as to what goes down between the ropes every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

Appreciate The Past & Look Forward To The Future

With all these legendary names behind the curtain or in the ring, it’s easy to say so many are being under-utilized, but the presentation of the current AEW product speaks to the notion that they’re standing on the apron.

Give them the hot tag and let them take you home. That’s teamwork.

CM Punk Eyeing Leadership Role At WWE Performance Center

0

CM Punk recently spent time at the WWE Performance Center, receiving positive feedback. We previously reported that Punk was “holding court” at the WWE Performance Center. It appears that he really likes the setup, and he has his eye on a much bigger eventual opportunity in Orlando.

CM Punk’s appearance on NXT Deadline alongside Shawn Michaels was followed by an unanticipated visit to the Performance Center in Orlando after his participation in WWE Raw.

Despite not being scheduled for the show, Sean Ross Sapp reported on Fightful Select that CM Punk willingly engaged backstage, offering assistance, interacting with talent in the lounge, and providing feedback on matches. It was also reported that Punk moved around various areas, including gorilla and the tech crew’s vicinity.

Everyone that we’ve spoken to at the WWE Performance Center say that Punk has been a pleasure to deal with so far, and there was a lot of excitement around Punk being there.

Shawn Michaels had openly welcomed CM Punk to WWE, particularly to NXT, even before formal discussions took place. Sources close to Punk suggest he valued Michaels’ endorsement. According to WWE insiders, Punk is always welcome at the WWE Performance Center at his convenience.

The report from Fightful Select also noted that WrestlePurists’ Ibou, who is connected to sources close to CM Punk, revealed that Punk’s long-term aspiration is to eventually take over NXT leadership from the 58-year-old Shawn Michaels. However, WWE officials assert that such a transition is distant, with no current plans for Michaels to conclude his tenure in NXT.

Ibou also mentioned CM Punk’s interest in observing TV production, reminiscent of his practices in OVW, where he often sought Paul Heyman’s insights.

In recent days, CM Punk has been photographed with numerous NXT talents, creating a buzz within the wrestling community. Obviously, he feels right at home at the WWE Performance Center.

We can only imagine what the WWE Performance Center will be like if CM Punk takes a big leadership role. If anything, he certainly seems to be fitting in, and looking toward the future within the company.

Ryback Trolled By Taco Bell Employee Over Backing Out Of CM Punk Bet

0

CM Punk’s return to WWE shocked everyone, including Ryback. The Big Guy even proclaimed that he would retire from pro wrestling if Punk actually returned to WWE. That happened, but Ryback quickly took back that wager.

It appears that the legend of Ryback’s bet against CM Punk’s career is catching up to him. Now, the former Intercontinental Champion can’t even get something to eat without someone hounding him about this broken online promise.

Ryback’s Taco Bell Incident

Ryback shared on his YouTube channel, Ryback TV, a recent story about an incident at a Taco Bell. He explained his attempt to acquire food, but the situation soured when the employee, aware of his bet against CM Punk, wanted to do some trolling instead.

“I just had a horrible interaction with a Taco Bell employee. Probably the first real bad interaction I had with somebody, possibly ever. To order the food I got to the window. A woman took the order. This kid, I give him my card, and he’s literally into my car. Like not all the way into my window but like just staring at me. Like I give him my card and I go to grab my phone, I turn around and he’s just right in my face. He goes, ‘Big guy?’ I go, ‘Yeah.’ He says, ‘Probably live in Vegas,’ I go, ‘Yeah.’ He says, ‘You’re not retiring?’ I just look at him and I go, ‘What?’”

Ryback quickly realized that his little online wager about CM Punk’s WWE return followed him to this Taco Bell visit. The Big Guy said that this fan then demanded a photograph, which he didn’t get.

“He says ‘CM Punk’ and he has a little smirk on his face. He’s just trying to be a smartass and I go, ‘Alright, give me my food.’ He says, ‘Give me a picture,’ and I go, ‘No, give me my food.’ And this kid starts getting an attitude like ‘Oh, you’re mean’ and some other sh*t, and I just go off. Then this other chick comes and I tell her, ‘Get this f**king piece of sh*t away from me.’ Doesn’t even say, ‘Please can I have a picture?’ He just says, ‘Give me a picture.’”

CM Punk’s return was a huge secret, with only Triple H and Nick Khan really knowing before the world found out. WWE’s creative team didn’t even know Punk was returning, and those Superstars in the WarGames match were only informed right before they went out. Obviously, Ryback wasn’t smartened up before he bet his career.

Ryback is still waiting for a green light from his doctor, and he’s selling his Feed Me More Nutrition line while he’s at it. You can find out more about Ryback’s supplements by clicking here.

We will have more coverage of CM Punk, and any bets made about him, here at SE Scoops

Carmelo Hayes Confronted By An Old NXT Rival

0

Could a rivalry be reignited for Carmelo Hayes? The former NXT Champion is preparing himself for tough competition as he is the lone NXT member competing in the upcoming US Title contender’s tournament on SmackDown. He’s no stranger to his first round opponent either as he’s going one-on-one with Grayson Waller.

In light of that clash occurring, Waller decided to confront Carmelo during a photo shoot. Just this week on WWE NXT, Hayes accused the current NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov of attacking him at the beginning of this week’s episode and also believes that it was Dragunov who attacked Trick Williams backstage months ago. The latter two are set to face one another at NXT New Year’s Evil, but it was Waller who decided to throw some salt into fresh wounds.

Waller decided to push some buttons, putting the blame on Hayes for Williams getting attacked and Carmelo took exception to Waller walking in during his shoot.

Waller challenged Hayes for the NXT Championship earlier this year at Spring Breakin’, but the Aussie lost in his efforts. Since then, Waller was drafted to the SmackDown roster, but spent a good deal of time on the shelf due to injury.

However, Waller has still made the most of his call-up, having a memorable confrontation with John Cena this past July at WWE Money In The Bank.

Big expectations are ahead for Hayes as many fans and Hall Of Famers have been anticipating a main roster call-up for the rising star. While there is no indication that his participation in the tournament means he’ll be moving up, it’s certainly a positive sign.

KUSHIDA Officially Signs With TNA

0

IMPACT Wrestling has officially announced a new big signing in KUSHIDA as they build toward their TNA rebrand in 2024.

KUSHIDA has been working sporadically with IMPACT since 2022 but on December 13, the promotion announced that he’s signed with the company. No details or press release have been sent out , but IMPACT did send out their own style of graphic, akin to what AEW does when they announce a signing.

KUSHIDA appeared on the Battleground Podcast and discussed his decision to make TNA his new home.

KUSHIDA really made a name for himself wrestling in New Japan Pro-Wrestling, teaming with current IMPACT World Champion Alex Shelley as members of the Time Splitters. Over the course of three years from 2012 to 2015, the duo became two-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions.

Shelley even had his second “cup of coffee” in WWE as the Time Splitters competed in the NXT 2020 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. The duo competed and lost in the first round to the Grizzled Young Veterans.

KUSHIDA’s time with WWE NXT was also about three years, making the most of his time with the black and gold brand. While there, he became the Cruiserweight Champion and ended up not re-signing with the company when his contract expired in 2022.

This led to him returning to NJPW and also in IMPACT. As expected, he re-aligned with Alex Shelley as the two and Chris Sabin formed a faction appropriately named Time Machine.

KUSHIDA did stop by All Elite Wrestling back at the beginning of 2023, competing against Darby Allin for the TNT Championship in a losing effort.

CM Punk ‘Holding Court’ At WWE Performance Center Today

0

WWE saw the return of CM Punk after so many were so certain that it wouldn’t happen. The Second City Savior jumped right into the new WWE culture, and it seems that he might dig the Performance Center setup in Orlando.

WWE boasts an Orlando facility for training Superstars, and it is full of talent trying to hone their skills. You never know who will stop by that facility, as The Undertaker, and others, have paid the building a visit in the past.

After being part of the NXT tapings last night, and NXT Deadline on Saturday, CM Punk stuck around in Orlando. Today, he revisited the Performance Center, engaging in training and discussions with talent.

PW Insider reported that CM Punk was around on December 13th at the WWE Performance Center, and he was speaking with talent. It seems that he may have had quite a gathering around him, with so many people wanting to hear what he had to say.

CM Punk is back at the WWE Performance Center today, training and holding court with NXT talents,

A lot of talent were reportedly excited about CM Punk being around the Performance Center today. Now, it seems that CM Punk may become a familiar face around WWE’s extravagant Orlando training facility.

While he was backstage at NXT, CM Punk did not make an appearance on the show. As NXT tapes next week’s show at the Performance Center tonight, the possibility is still out there.

CM Punk’s WWE return has been one surprise after another. Keep checking back with SE Scoops for more on whatever he has planned next.

Mick Foley Speaks On Chances Of A 2024 Royal Rumble Surprise

0

Mick Foley gave his all for fans’ entertainment, losing teeth and an ear in the process. Right now, he is doing his best post-WWE, but the gleam of hope that he will return still lingers in the air.

WWE’s yearly Royal Rumble event stands out as one that usually includes excitement and numerous surprises. Despite WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley surprising fans with some post-retirement appearances, it seems Foley won’t feature in the 2024 Royal Rumble PPV.

During WWE The Bump on December 12th, 2023, Mick Foley was asked about the possibility that he might grace Tropicana Field for the 2024 Royal Rumble event. Mrs. Foley’s Baby Boy was quick to shut down any hope that fans will see him mix it up on January 27th.

“On Royal Rumble, people get together and celebrate. It really makes people happy. So I’ll be tuned in, and maybe I’ll be…no, here’s the thing; I would have to lose 70 pounds just to be in terrible shape, so I am not going to be there.”

Mick Foley’s Royal Rumble History

Mick Foley’s last official WWE match was in 2012 as part of the 30-Man Royal Rumble match, which Sheamus won. So, he’s obviously not foreign to the idea of a Royal Rumble surprise. Still, Foley will sit this one out.

Mick Foley made history in 1998 by entering the Royal Rumble as three different characters. Those days are in the past, but he certainly appreciates the fact that fans would love to see him wrestle again.

We will have to see when Mick Foley shows up on WWE television again. You can never say never, but it appears that he is satisfied with how things have turned out for him at this point. You can check out The Bump below.

Mick Foley is very busy on the road as a stand-up comedian. You may check out more information about his upcoming dates here, ones which Dolph Ziggler has been appearing at as an opening act.

Athena Says NXT Was Like Going To ‘Pro Wrestling University’

0

Prior to joining All Elite Wrestling in 2022, Ring of Honor Women’s World champion Athena spent six years with WWE. As Ember Moon, she held the NXT Women title as well as the brand’s tag titles, alongside Shotzi Blackheart.

Despite her WWE run coming to an end in late-2021, Athena maintains an overall positive outlook on her experience there, particularly with the atmosphere in NXT.

Athena spoke with Phil Strum for Under The Ring and explained how working for WWE helped her develop as a performer.

Athena Says NXT was like going to Pro Wrestling University

Athena individually thanked several of the coaches she worked with in NXT, including Sara Amato, Robbie Brookside, Norman Smiiley, Matt Bloom, Fitt Finaly, Shawn Michaels, as well as Triple H.

“I learned a lot about myself,” she began. “I learned a lot about what I wanted, and where I wanted to be in my career. I think the most awesome part about being an NXT was working with [Triple H] or with working with all the amazing coaches like Sara Amato, Robbie Brookside, who I love to death. I cannot say enough great things about Robbie Brookside. [He] brought out that aggression within the Ember Moon character. Norman Smiley, Matt Bloom, Fit Finlay — there were just so much knowledge in one place in. Shawn Michaels too, Scotty 2 Hotty was there.

“There was just so much knowledge wrapped up in one place, that it was like a college for wrestling. I don’t know if that’s an accurate term, it was like Pro Wrestling University. It was really cool to jus be able to go there and just learn so much.”

Athena says she still speaks to many of her NXT coaches to this day. She asks them if they watch her matches in ROH and tries to pick up any pointers that she can.

“It’s just really cool to have that support still, even though I’m not there. I just learned a lot about myself and what I wanted out of my career there. I learned how to work for television, how to work for myself. It made me more motivated ever than before, just to be good at what I do. And I think that’s the beauty of that place.”

John Cena ‘Really Grateful’ For His Cameo In Barbie

0

WWE legend John Cena feels fortunate to have bagged the cameo role in one of the most-talked movies of 2023, ‘Barbie.’

‘The Leader of Cenation’ has managed to establish himself in Hollywood as a mainstay of several franchises. Cena decided to pursue acting full-time toward the end of the 2010s, and since then, he has starred in numerous multi-billion dollar franchises, including Transformers, the DC Extended Universe, Fast & Furious, and more.

Cena looks far from slowing down and he will shortly be adding Coyote vs. Acme and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to his expanding resume. Before the release of either of those installments, Cena appeared in Barbie as Merman Ken.

The movie starred Margot Robbie as Barbie and Ryan Gosling as Ken. Other actors who starred were Will Ferrell, Simu Liu, America Ferrera, Ariana Greenblatt, and many more. Gerwig directed Barbie and the screenplay was by Gerwig & Oscar nominee Noah Baumbach. The popular movie is based on Barbie by Mattel. The movie hit the theatres earlier this summer on Friday, July 21.

The 16-time World Champion recently hit the red carpet to support his good friend Zac Efron at the L.A. premiere of the latter’s new wrestling movie “The Iron Claw,” which tells the true story of the famous Von Erich brothers.

Cena spoke to Terri Seymour of Extra about his cameo in Barbie and stated that he was “lucky” to get the opportunity. He further joked that all he had to do was “put on a fishtail and a blonde wig.”

“That one man, that’s a four leaf clover for me. I was really lucky. I’m very grateful for all the opportunities that come our way. But I was especially lucky for that.”

He added:

“Didn’t have to do much. Just put on a fish tail and a blonde wig and let all the talented folks do the rest. It’s great to see, not only the film be so successful amongst the consumers out there, but certainly with the critics as well.

Fans were recently buzzing when Cena came across AEW World Champion MJF at ‘The Iron Claw’ Premiere. He also met several other fellow WWE stars. Find out who else made their presence felt at the premiere in the article below:
