Cain Velasquez recently spoke with Sporting News about a wide range of pro-wrestling and MMA related topics.
During the interview, he was asked about attending a recent New Japan Pro Wrestling show in San Francisco to have discussions with the company about wrestling there in the future.
“New Japan is an organization that I’d love to wrestle for. But I don’t believe that I want to stick with one organization. I want to be wrestling for different organizations. For me, this sport is so new, and I want to learn as much as I can and wrestle as much as I can.”
The former UFC Champion continued by noting that NJPW would be an awesome company to wrestle for.
He recalled being at the show where he saw their athletes and the way they wrestle is top-notch. He added that he was impressed with the whole show in general.
Velasquez has a match booked for the AAA Invading NY event this Sunday at New York City’s Hulu Theatre.
He’ll be working a six-man tag team match where he’ll team up with Brian Cage and Psycho Clown against Texano Jr., Taurus, and Scorpion King.
