Flammer (c) vs. Lady Shani vs. La Catalina (AAA Reina de Reinas Championship)
Flammer puts the Reina de Reinas Championship on the line against two challengers with very different paths to the title picture. La Catalina has been positioned as one of AAA’s featured names heading into TripleMania 34, while Lady Shani brings the deepest history with the belt of anyone in the match.
El Fiscal vs. Psycho Clown vs. Cruz Del Toro (AAA Latin American Championship Qualifier)
The AAA Latin American Championship was vacated after an injury to Hijo del Vikingo, and general manager Rey Mysterio set up a series of three-way qualifiers to fill a fatal four-way at TripleMania 34. El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. and La Parka have already claimed two of the four spots.
Psycho Clown is the recognizable draw here, but Cruz Del Toro has been rebuilt as a serious singles threat, and El Fiscal is the type who can steal a fall in traffic.
Dominik Mysterio Sits Down With Andrea Bazarte
This is the segment AAA is leading with. Mysterio requested the interview himself after the storyline betrayal of El Grande Americano that sent him into El Ojo, and Bazarte is the one asking the questions after being written off television and then reinstated by Rey Mysterio.
The timing matters. Americano won the Rey de Reyes tournament to earn a shot at the AAA Mega Championship, and that match is already booked for TripleMania 34. Whatever Mysterio says tonight is the last real word before the two of them share a ring again.
Los Perros del Mal Appearance
Daga, Karmen Petrovic, Bronco Nima, Angel and Berto are advertised for the show. Daga promised on last week’s episode that the group would keep growing, so an addition to the faction is the obvious thing to watch for.
Road to AAA TripleMania 34
TripleMania 34 takes place across two nights and two countries, starting Friday, September 11 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas before finishing Sunday, September 13 at Arena CDMX in Mexico City. AAA confirmed the two-night format back in May, and WWE moved night one to a larger building last week after the original venue sold out.
Tonight fills a third slot in the Latin American Championship four-way, leaving the Omos vs. Damian Priest vs. Galeno qualifier as the last one standing. The fallout from Mysterio’s turn runs straight into his Mega Championship defense against El Grande Americano, and AAA talent is also threaded through the tournament to determine Roman Reigns’ challenger in Mexico City in September.
