El Grande Americano had to scratch and claw, but he retained his AAA Mega Championship with WWE legend Rey Mysterio’s assist in a chaotic match.
The masked luchador defended his title against former champion Dominik Mysterio in the main event of AAA Héroes Inmortales. The match was an enthralling bout from the get-go, with both competitors delivering compelling performances.
In the second half, Dominik’s ally, Omos, came down to run interference. However, Pimpinela Escarlata, who was sitting in the audience, tried to stop him, only to feel the wrath of the Nigerian Giant. He was about to hurt her badly before El Grande stopped him with a suicide dive.
As the match approached the final moments, Omos resurfaced again and pulled the referee out just when El Grande was about to score the pinfall. Just then, AAA General Manager Rey Mysterio delivered a 619 to Omos using the ring pole and then chopped him down with a series of chair strikes.
With Omos out of the way, Dominik Mysterio tried to snatch the chair from his father, but Rey instead struck him too. El Grande then found the opening to hit a running headbutt on Dominik and pin him for the three-count. You can check out the clip below:
