Avery Styles has officially signed with TNA Wrestling. The son of AJ Styles made the announcement live during his in-ring debut at TNA Lockdown on Sunday night in Chicago.
Styles came out to Gia Miller for an interview segment, telling the crowd that TNA meant everything to his father’s career and that his own path forward would run through the promotion as well. He then confirmed he had signed on the dotted line, officially joining the TNA roster.
The moment was quickly interrupted by Frankie Kazarian, who came out to address the newcomer directly. Kazarian brought up his own history alongside AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels and Samoa Joe, warning Avery that plenty of people backstage could not be trusted. He told the rookie that he, however, was someone Avery could count on.
Avery made his professional wrestling debut in late June at an independent show in Georgia, with his father helping set up the finish. He went on to work a Game Changer Wrestling date on August 1, a run that drew some criticism after he was accused of not helping set up the venue, prompting AJ Styles himself to respond publicly.
TNA had only confirmed Avery would be appearing at Lockdown two days earlier, without revealing what role he would play on the show. The signing answers that question and puts the Styles name back on a TNA roster for the first time since his father’s departure.
