Nobody reporting on Bayley’s WWE contract can agree on when it actually expires, and the spread between the dates in circulation is now wide enough to change what her recent AEW teases could possibly mean.
Four separate timelines are live right now, sourced from four different places, and they point at four different months.
The earliest comes from Bayley herself. Speaking to Chris Van Vliet in April 2025, she said she had “a year and a half left” on her deal, which lands squarely in October 2026.
Fightful Select has reported the contract is expected to lapse by the end of 2026 unless injury time gets added, while noting no official expiration date has ever been confirmed. Sources there also confirmed she has not signed anything new.
Dave Meltzer offered a third read on Wrestling Observer Radio this week, saying he had been told only that “Bayley has a decision to make. She has not signed a contract.” He also stated flatly that she will not be a free agent this month.
Bryan Alvarez pushed the window further out still, saying he had heard the deal does not lapse until January, though he stressed he could not verify it. Layered under all of this are earlier reports that Bayley signed a multi-year extension in late 2023, which is where the October math originally came from.
Why The Date Decides Everything
AEW runs All In at Wembley Stadium on August 30. If any of those four timelines is accurate, Bayley is under WWE contract that night, which is why the speculation keeps running into a wall.
Alvarez said on Wrestling Observer Live that people he spoke to inside AEW are as confused as everyone else, telling him “everyone I talked to is also baffled by this thing.” He added that he does not expect the teases to produce anything at Wembley. Mercedes Moné has been the loudest voice keeping the idea alive, first with a fan-made WrestleDream graphic listing Bayley under her old Davina Rose name, then with an hourglass GIF posted on X minutes after a Bayley segment on Raw.
Where She Actually Stands
WrestleVotes, reporting on Fightful Select, said Wednesday there is still no substantial update on the contract itself. What they did have was internal reaction to Sunday’s training montage, which did not land well with everyone and was described by some backstage as eyebrow-raising.
The video showed Bayley training at several gyms with wrestlers outside WWE, Moné among them, captioned “all or nothing, baby” and set to a track called “All In.” Our earlier report covers how that post went down inside the company.
On television, the exit is already built. Lyra Valkyria submitted her at Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 18 at Madison Square Garden, put her through the steel steps afterward, and claimed on the following Raw to have run her out of the company.
