Big E’s Role Behind The New Level’s AEW Theme Song Revealed

WWE superstar Big E had some contribution in getting his former New Day cohorts, Kofi and Austin Creed, a new theme song for their AEW debut.

In a recent appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, Kofi said he and Austin Creed wanted A$AP Ferg’s ‘New Level’ as their new theme song in AEW, but they didn’t have any contacts, and AEW couldn’t reach them either. They then turned to Big E for help, who guided them in the right direction and asked Kofi and Austin to speak with former WWE writer Kaz and current WWE personnel Peter Rosenburg.

I think they had contacted Sony, but they were having some trouble getting in touch with them. So we put in some calls. As a matter of fact, we called [Big] E because E is Mr. Hip Hop and Mr. Rap. We figured he might have a connection to several people in the rap industry. It’s like, ‘Hey, who should we talk to to try and see if we can get this music?’ And he didn’t know A$AP Ferg, he had never met him. But he was like, ‘Ask Kaz,’ who used to be a writer with WWE, and now he does everything under the sun. Then he said, ‘Talk to Peter Rosenberg as well.’

This led Kofi and Austin to get in touch with them. Following that, Peter Rosenburg got the approval from Ferg’s manager and linked him with AEW to make it happen for The New Level‘s AEW debut at All In 2026.

So we contacted Kaz, and then we contacted Rosenberg. We were talking to him for a little bit, explaining the whole situation to him. He’s like, ‘Alright, I’m gonna make some calls. I’m gonna call Ferg. I’ll call his manager.’ And literally within like 20 minutes, he’s like, ‘Yup, they’re down. They’re gonna talk to the right people.’ He linked up Ferg’s manager with AEW, and then we made it happen literally even less than 24 hours before we debuted.
