Carlito is not holding back.
Inside The Ropes recently released a new interview with the former WWE star. The former Champion spoke about his second run with the company in the clip, including topics such as not wrestling as much during this run, the Bron Breakker spear going viral, and more.
While discussing the abrupt end to his second run with the promotion, Carlito noted that Triple H has never been a fan of his work. When asked about his earlier comment about wanting to be a one-company guy and what his plan was now, Carlito noted that he can retire right now if he wanted:
Man, I can retire now, baby. So the plan is whatever it is. That’s all I wanted to do. That was my goal. Now I’m playing with house money at this point. If something good comes up, great.

On the topic of staying loyal, however, Carlito said that staying loyal to WWE is like being a beaten housewife at this point:
But I’ve said this before, if I was loyal to WWE, it’s just like being a beaten housewife at this point. You know what I mean?
So I’m open to whatever. And if not, I’ll just ride off into the sunset. Like I said, I enjoy performing for you guys, but if I’m forgotten tomorrow, I’m totally okay with that.
Elsewhere in the interview, the former US Champion noted that the company had offered him a longer contract upon his return but he chose to sign only for two years, fearing that the creative might not use him as much.
Neither him nor the officials initiated any talks for a renewal when the deal was coming up and it led to his abrupt exit despite still being part of Judgment Day.
