WWE is playing into the reports about Chelsea Green.
After Rhea Ripley confirmed this week that she had finally opted to get surgery after staying out of action for two months due to her knee injury, reports suggested that WWE could do away with the interim label for Green.
The Women’s Champion herself also seemed to support this notion, claiming that she was going to be the ‘permanent’ champion in an interview.

Chelsea Green Championship Celebration
While an official announcement of the same has not been made, WWE does seem to be moving in that direction. The latest episode of SmackDown saw the new champion holding a victory celebration.
Chelsea Green wore a shirt declaring herself the permanent champion, and the commentary also referred to her just as the Women’s Champion during her entrance:
Though Green’s booking did not change very much despite her victory. The Championship Celebration led to Chelsea teaming with Tiffany Stratton to face off against Fallon Henley & Lainey Reid of Fatal Influence after the faction interrupted her segment.
Not only did the babyfaces lose the match due to interference from Jacy Jayne, but Chelsea Green was the one who was pinned at the end of the bout. If that wasn’t enough, Lash Legend and Nia Jax attacked Green and Stratton after the bell, and Jax stood tall with the title belt to end the segment.
