Former WWE Champion May Have Already Wrestled Final Match

ByBishal RoyProfessional Wrestling Journalist

Sean Ross Sapp has confirmed that, despite remaining on WWE’s official roster, former Women’s Tag Team Champion Tamina is not appearing on shows and has been completely sidelined creatively, suggesting her final match in February 2023 may already have come and gone without fanfare.

During a Fightful Select Q&A, Sapp was asked whether anyone had seen Tamina lately. His answer made clear that fans should not expect her back on WWE programming anytime soon.

She’s not really at the shows, despite being listed on the roster. That seems to come up here and there. She’s not factored in creatively whatsoever, and hasn’t wrestled in years. Once the new regime took over, she wasn’t used anymore, but was occasionally backstage. She was actually seen speaking with CM Punk when he showed up at Raw while still under AEW contract. She’s almost 50 and hasn’t competed in over three years, so it’s quite likely we won’t see her again,” Sapp said, per Fightful Select.

A Quiet Fade From WWE Television

Tamina has not wrestled since the February 27, 2023 episode of WWE Main Event, where she lost to Michin. There has been little movement around her since, and the new regime under Triple H did not continue using her after taking over.

When fans asked in 2024 whether Tamina or Naomi could get involved with The Bloodline, it was noted that Tamina was no longer active. She was also not working shows, and was not on internal rosters.

A former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion alongside Natalya, Tamina spent years as a recognizable veteran presence in the women’s division. She has also spoken openly about her identity as a performer, once telling an interviewer that she considered herself “a wrestler” who did not fit the mold of WWE’s Divas era.

No Formal Retirement

Tamina has not been presented as retired on WWE programming, but the signs do not point toward a comeback. She is not being used creatively, has not competed in more than three years, and even the occasional backstage appearances appear to have dried up.
