Hulk Hogan Boots Set Record as First $1M Wrestling Collectible

Hulk Hogan's match-worn boots from WrestleMania I have sold for $1,037,000 through Heritage Auctions, officially making them the first professional wrestling collectible ever to cross the million-dollar mark.

Why These Boots Matter

Hogan wore the boots during the WrestleMania I main event on March 31, 1985, at Madison Square Garden, where he and Mr. T defeated Roddy Piper and Paul Orndorff. That match is widely credited with launching WWE into mainstream prominence and establishing WrestleMania as a cultural institution.

Heritage Auctions described the boots as the sport's most iconic footwear from its most groundbreaking event. They were photo-matched to WrestleMania I and came with full PSA/DNA documentation. Hogan himself inscribed them: "These are my real boots with my real blood on them from MSG."

Logan Paul Was in the Bidding War

WWE Superstar Logan Paul revealed on social media that he stayed up until 2 a.m. in a bidding war for the boots, pushing the price to $1,021,750 before ultimately losing out.

Paul recently sold his Pikachu Illustrator card for $16.5 million, so a seven-figure wrestling bid was clearly within reach — just not quite enough.

The Sale in Context

The auction comes several months after Hogan's passing in July 2025 at age 71. Earlier in 2026, a Hogan boot from WrestleMania X8 sold for $146,400 — making the gap between that sale and this one a stark illustration of just how dramatically this auction reset the market for wrestling memorabilia.

With the million-dollar barrier now broken, the ceiling for high-end wrestling collectibles has fundamentally changed.
