The right boot Hulk Hogan wore against The Rock at WrestleMania X8 is now up for bids at Goldin, eight months after its matching left boot sold through the same auction house for $146,400.
The boot is a featured lot in Goldin’s 2026 Fall Combat Sports Auction, which opened in late October and closes on November 22, with extended bidding set to begin at 10 p.m. ET that night. Bidding opened at $35,000, more than triple the $10,000 starting point on the left boot back in January.
Goldin lists the piece as match-used, photo-matched, signed and inscribed from the March 17, 2002 match. It carries the same blue-and-white flame design as its twin, with Hogan’s “Hollywood” image on the side and a black-marker signature reading “Hollywood Hulk Hogan” plus his “4 Life” inscription. The wear is heavy: creasing, scuffing and chipped paint throughout.
A different paper trail than the left boot
The two boots were authenticated by different houses. The left boot came with a photo-match letter from Davious Sports and a signature letter from JSA, according to Goldin’s listing for that lot. The right boot is backed by a photo-match letter of authenticity from Sports Investors Authentication (SIA) and a signature letter from Beckett.
That left boot closed on February 8. PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported the winning bid was $120,000, with the buyer’s premium bringing the total to $146,400. That is the number the right boot now chases.
The Hogan market keeps climbing
Hogan died on July 24, 2025, at 71, and his gear has been among the most expensive wrestling memorabilia sold since. His boots from the first WrestleMania became the first wrestling collectible to clear $1 million at Heritage Auctions in March, selling for $1,037,000. In August, his photo-matched WrestleMania 2 title belt sold for $414,800.
The X8 boot already set a high mark for a single piece of footwear. A full pair of Hogan’s boots from the 1989 Survivor Series and 1990 Royal Rumble sold at Iconic Auctions in May for roughly the same money as the lone left boot from Toronto.
The match is the reason. WrestleMania X8 drew a SkyDome-record crowd of 68,237 and was the last WrestleMania held under the WWF name. Hogan came in as the heel leader of the nWo, but the Toronto crowd sided with him from the opening bell. The Rock won with two Rock Bottoms and a People’s Elbow, and the two shook hands in the ring afterward in one of the most replayed moments of the era.
Registered bidders can place bids at Goldin.co until the auction closes.
