Kevin Owens is headed back to the WWE NXT ring.
WWE has just announced Owens for the upcoming NXT live event scheduled for Centre Slush Puppie in Gatineau, Quebec, Canada on Saturday, October 17. This is just a few hours from the veteran Superstar’s hometown of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec.
The Prizefighter is the featured Superstar advertised for NXT that night, but it remains to be seen if he will actually wrestle. WWE and the arena also have the following names advertised: Grayson Waller, Tony D’Angelo, Zaria, Cruz Montana, Kendal Grey, Shiloh Hill, Brad Baylor, Ricky Smokes, and Jackson Drake.
Owens is not being advertised for the NXT live event in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada on October 15, or the show in Sudbury, Ontario on October 16.
Owens has strong connections to the NXT brand. The 42-year-old dethroned Sami Zayn in 2015 and held the strap for 142 days before dropping it to Finn Balor. Owens’ last match in the NXT ring came at WarGames 2019 as he was the mystery partner for Tommaso Ciampa, Keith Lee, and Dominik Dijakovic for their victory over The Undisputed Era.
