Kevin Owens defeated CM Punk in a No Holds Barred Match on the November 6 episode of WWE SmackDown after landing knockout punch to score the pin. His first happened to be wrapped in a chain, delivering the KO.
The match spilled outside early, with tables, chairs, and other weapons in play. Owens sent both men through tables at ringside with a Fisherman Buster before surviving a GTS and finishing Punk with the chain. WWE highlighted the finish as “KO PUNCH.”
The rivalry between Owens and Punk intensified over recent weeks, including interference on NXT.
The result closes one chapter ahead of Crown Jewel this weekend.
Owens Pays Homage to the Young Bucks
The KO on Kevin Owens’ pants on SmackDown was a subtle tribute to Kevin Owens time in PWG alongside the Young Bucks.
The distinct baby blue border and colorful pattern inside is a direct reference to the now iconic gear he wore in 2013.
The Young Bucks gear at AEW All In this year also paid tribute to the very same time in history.
