Logan Paul says the Tetris debate is over after posting the highest score ever recorded on Chromatic Tetris. ModRetro confirmed the mark on October 11, crediting Paul with 552,305 points and the top spot on the game’s leaderboard.
Paul jumped two spots to first, passing Summerburst, who had held the lead at 543,163. PixelAndy now sits third at 525,834, followed by Quaid at 483,393. Blue Scuti, the teenager who beat Paul at the 2024 ModRetro event, is fifth at 479,928.
Paul reacted on X by calling himself “officially the greatest Tetris player that’s ever lived.” He wrote that he entered the Classic Tetris World Championship two years ago and was throttled by 14-year-olds, an experience he described as both embarrassing and humbling. Since then, he said, he has been training in the shadows and logging thousands of hours.
The reference goes back to June 7, 2024, when Paul skipped WWE SmackDown to compete in the ModRetro special event during Classic Tetris World Championship weekend in Pasadena. As the celebrity face of the ModRetro Chromatic handheld, he beat Chris Tang in round one, then lost his semifinal to Willis Gibson, known as Blue Scuti, who was 14 at the time.
Two things are worth keeping in mind. The record applies only to Chromatic Tetris, the Game Boy Color version ModRetro built in-house and has bundled with its handheld since December 2024. And the “greatest ever” claim is Paul’s own. The classic NES scene that crowns the world champion plays a different game, with top scores in the millions.
Paul has been keeping his gaming content busy lately, including a marathon Shiny Pokémon stream that ended abruptly after 30 hours.
