MJF has a warning for young talents.
The former AEW World Champion recently spoke to Bleacher Report to promote the All In PPV this Sunday. He talked about things such as his rivalry with Andrade, the upcoming match between Will Ospreay and Kenny Omega, whether he likes to perform at bigger venues or more intimate arenas, and more.
The Salt of the Earth was also asked what he has learned about himself after spending over a decade in the business. MJF claimed that the biggest thing he has learned is to trust only himself, mentioning that the only time his career went south was when he trusted Adam Cole. The 30-year-old then dropped some advice for young talents, warning them that most veterans do not have their best interest at heart:
In all sincerity, I think one of the biggest issues that young people in the industry make is that a lot of guys are busy walking around trying to find veterans in the locker room. Here’s the deal and the god’s honest truth.
Not all of them, but 99 percent of the veterans in the locker room, they don’t have your best interest, they don’t want you to beat them, they don’t want you to be better at talking than them or better at wrestling than them. Because if you’re better than they are, that’s taking food off their plate.

The former Champion further said that the only person you can trust in the industry is yourself. Though he added that being a follower is ok for those talents who have piss-poor instincts. He explained that some people are born to be backup dancers, and they can still make good money being followers, just not as much money as him.
MJF will be entering the Casino Gauntlet match as the #2 entrant behind Andrade El Ídolo. Tommaso Ciampa, Mark Davis and Chris Jericho will also be entering the match with the winner receiving a future AEW World Title shot.
