WWE SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis has voiced his desire to return to the ring. Speaking on the Keepin' It 100 podcast, Aldis confirmed he wants to wrestle again, though no discussions have taken place with WWE.
Aldis, who signed with WWE in 2023 and has not competed in a match since, emphasized his commitment to his current role as SmackDown GM. He is neither injured nor retired, and remains in excellent physical condition after focusing on recovery and training.
Aldis referenced former WWE star Matt Cardona's approach of staying prepared for opportunities.
It’s not really been talked about one way or the other. Of course, dude [I want to wrestle]. I mean, you know, it’s like Matt Cardona is a perfect example, where it’s like, ‘stay ready.’

While WWE has no confirmed plans for an in-ring return, the comments keep the door open for a future match given his ongoing fitness and prominence on SmackDown.
This development highlights Aldis' dual readiness as both an authority figure and performer, potentially aligning with WWE's use of on-screen GMs in action.
