Penta debuted a custom red Money in the Bank briefcase on WWE Raw Monday night in Bossier City, Louisiana. The luchador opened the show two days after he won the men’s ladder match at Money in the Bank.
The crowd at the Brookshire Grocery Arena broke into “You deserve it” chants as Penta stood in the ring with the new briefcase, which reads, “DINERO EN EL BANCO.”
Penta thanked everyone in attendance, then thanked each of his opponents from the ladder match and said they all have his respect. He also delivered a message from the heart about fighting for 20 years.
On the cash-in, Penta said you never know when it will happen, but when it does, he will become a world champion.
Penta Teased a Big Surprise if He Won MITB
The custom case follows a tease from Saturday. Asked on WWE Now whether he planned to customize the briefcase, Penta called it “a big surprise” and said it would be something special. He also said the briefcase is part of his new outfit, after wearing Joker-inspired gear at the show. Penta promised a big surprise after the win.
Penta won the match on October 10 at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, hitting Bron Breakker with a Mexican Destroyer on a ladder before climbing to retrieve the briefcase. Penta beat Breakker, CM Punk and the rest of the field in the main event. The contract lets him challenge for the WWE Championship or the World Heavyweight Championship at any point over the next year.
His last World Heavyweight Championship challenge came against Roman Reigns on the September 14 Raw in Mexico City, where he came up short. Reigns retained the title against LA Knight at Money in the Bank.
