Feared R-Truth Injury After Awkward Finish To SmackDown Match

An awkward ending to a SmackDown match.

The latest episode of the blue-branded show featured a singles match between former tag team champions R-Truth and Damian Priest. This came after the latter turned on his partner following a title match loss during the September 11 episode of the show last month.

The match appears not to have gone as planned, however, as Truth had an awkward landing while attempting a missile dropkick from the top rope. The referee stopped the action after checking on the wrestling veteran, and he called for the bell after briefly explaining the situation to Priest:

Damian Priest then went out of the ring to grab a steel chair. Before he could do any damage, FrAxiom came to Truth’s aid, and the segment ended with no more physicality.

The SmackDown rundown posted by Fightful Select earlier in the night had Priest going over Truth. FrAxiom’s post-match appearance had also been listed as part of the segment.

WWE has not posted the video of the awkward finish to the match on their official YouTube or Twitter handles, which further suggests that the match did not end as originally planned.

Stay tuned for any updates on Truth’s health.
