Seth Rollins recently returned to the ring, and while his WWE Raw TV status remains up in the air, the veteran Superstar just took time to issue a rare message to the WWE Universe in support of someone else.
Rollins last appeared on television for the loss to Roman Reigns at SummerSlam Sunday, with the World Heavyweight Championship on the line. The 40-year-old was then out of the ring until the recent tour of South America, where Rollins teamed with LA Knight and Solo Sikoa for wins over The Usos and Jacob Fatu at four non-televised live events, the last taking place on September 12 in Santiago, Chile.
Rollins’ Raw status remains up in the air, according to WrestleVotes. While The Visionary has been quietly plotting his comeback, another Raw Superstar has continued his hot streak: Chad Gable. The 40-year-old began his first-ever WWE Intercontinental Championship reign with a win over Penta during SummerSlam Sunday.
Gable retained the Intercontinental Championship over Dragon Lee in a heavily-praised match that went almost 16 minutes on Monday’s live Raw from Mexico. After tearing down the house at the legendary Arena Mexico in the nation’s capital, Gable and Lee shared a special moment in the ring, and then again backstage.
Rollins took to his Instagram Stories this week to offer rare public praise for Gable.
Watching Gable grow into one of the best wrestlers on the planet has been an absolute treat,” Rollins wrote with the photo seen in the screenshot below.
Gable has not publicly responded to Rollins as of this writing. The inaugural NXT Champion linked his post as a response to Gable’s Instagram update from two days before, which touted his return to Mexico as WWE’s Intercontinental Champion, and served as a preview for the Lee match. Gable also worked the recent tour of South America, retaining the strap over Penta, Lee, and Ethan Page on four nights.
Rollins and Gable have shared the ring around one dozen times since 2022, but have had just two one-on-one outings. Rollins won their first-ever singles bout to qualify for Elimination Chamber in the Raw opener on January 30, 2023. He currently leads their singles series 2-0 after defeating Gable at a non-televised live event on December 29, 2024.
