SmackDown airs tonight (Friday, August 7, 2026) from Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, live on USA Network starting at 8 PM ET.
WWE brings the blue brand to Philadelphia for its first show since SummerSlam, and the fallout list is long. Randy Orton is advertised days after costing Cody Rhodes the Undisputed WWE Championship, CM Punk answers the man who just took the No. 1 contender’s spot, and Chelsea Green shows up with a title nobody expected her to win.
Tickets for tonight’s WWE SmackDown from Philadelphia (Ticketmaster) are still available.
Here’s everything you need to know, including start times, how to watch, and the full card.

SmackDown Match Card for August 7, 2026
Here are the matches and segments announced for tonight’s show:
Charlotte Flair vs. Jade Cargill

The only confirmed match on the card so far, and it comes straight out of a shared failure. Both women were in the five-way Ladder Match at SummerSlam and both came up empty, watching Chelsea Green climb past them to take the Interim WWE Women’s Championship.
The two have been circling each other for weeks. With the interim title now spoken for, a singles win here is the cleanest way for either one to get back into the conversation.
CM Punk Responds to Kevin Owens’ Title Challenge
Kevin Owens returned at SummerSlam Sunday after more than a year on the shelf with a neck injury, then won a Fatal Four Way over Finn Balor, Gunther, and Sami Zayn to become the No. 1 contender to Punk’s Undisputed WWE Championship. Nick Aldis had added both Gunther and Owens to what was originally a singles match, and Owens finished Zayn with a Stunner.
Punk is set to address that tonight, and WWE lists Owens among the featured Superstars for the segment. Owens taking the contender’s spot from his oldest friend gave the blue brand its next title program without WWE having to build one.
Chelsea Green Makes Her First Appearance as Interim WWE Women’s Champion
Green (c) beat Charlotte Flair, Jade Cargill, Lash Legend, and Women’s United States Champion Tiffany Stratton in the Ladder Match to win the interim title. WWE has not said what she’ll address tonight.
The obvious question is how long the reign lasts. Green has already pushed back on the interim label publicly, while Rhea Ripley confirmed she underwent knee surgery this week.
Randy Orton Appears After Costing Cody Rhodes the Title
Orton returned on SummerSlam Saturday and hit Rhodes with an RKO while referee Charles Robinson was down, letting Punk land a GTS and retain. It was Orton’s first appearance since losing to Rhodes at WrestleMania 42, and commentary made a point of noting that Punk was outside the ring and never saw the interference.
Orton is scheduled to appear tonight. Whether he explains himself or simply keeps hunting his former protege is the loose end SmackDown has to start pulling on, and it’s part of the wider reset SummerSlam applied to both world title pictures.
Road to WWE Money in the Bank 2026
Money in the Bank 2026 takes place Saturday, October 10 in New Orleans, Louisiana, with Sunday Night’s Main Event scheduled for September 6 before it.
Tonight starts the build for both, with Punk vs. Owens already locked in as the blue brand’s next championship program and the Orton and Rhodes story reopened after four months.
