Thekla has re-signed with AEW.
The Toxic Spider has made a big impact in her rookie year with the company. Making her debut for the promotion in May 2025, the 32-year-old defeated Kris Statlander to become the new AEW Women's Champion on the February 11 episode of Dynamite this year.
Now Fightful Select has provided a big update on Thekla's status with the company, revealing that the female star has signed a new multi-year deal with AEW recently. According to the site, the Austrian pro wrestler had originally signed a two-year deal when she moved to America from Japan.
Her performances since then have been well-received within the promotion, and the company officials were so happy with her work that they made the decision to lock her down with a new long-term contract.
Making her wrestling debut in 2017, Thekla first gained popularity with her stint with World Wonder Ring Stardom. She joined Giulia's Donna Del Mondo faction upon her Stardom debut in 2021 and went on to hold titles such as Goddess of Stardom Championship.
There is no word on the length of Thekla's new AEW deal, but it's likely that she received a big pay rise with the new contract as well.
