Tommaso Ciampa has revealed what he thought about Tony Khan the first time they met.
The Psycho Killer made his surprise AEW debut on this week's episode of Dynamite. The appearance came about a week after he announced his departure from WWE, and only a couple of days after the company officially moved him to the alumni.
During his recent interview with SHAK Wrestling, the former NXT Champion talked about the whole sequence of events. Tommaso Ciampa noted that his AEW debut was put together in just 48 hours, and he only officially met the AEW President on the day of his debut:
“It’s the first time I met Tony. We briefly chatted and immediately I was like, wow, this guy’s passion is contagious. He loves his roster, his fan base. He loves All Elite Wrestling. He loves professional wrestling in general. I mean, it’s crazy how passionate he is, and even in that quick, brief encounter, I was like, yeah, you made the right choice.”
The former WWE star answered the open challenge issued by TNT Champion Mark Briscoe during his Dynamite appearance. Though the company decided to hold off on his in-ring debut, and his match with Briscoe is set to take place on this week's Collision instead.
During the same interview, Tommaso Ciampa also discussed the circumstances surrounding his WWE exit. You can check out more of what he said here.
