Tony Khan isn’t confirming anything, but he’s making it clear KAIRI, the former Kairi Sane, is on his radar.
At the AEW WrestleDream post-event media scrum, Khan was asked about the chance of KAIRI joining the company. He said he can’t speak to it at this time, but called her a fantastic wrestler and said he is aware and excited that she’s a free agent. He added that he finds the possibility very interesting.
She’s a fantastic wrestler. I can’t speak to that at this time but I am very aware and excited to see that she’s a free agent. I think that that’s very, very interesting, and I’m very intrigued by the possibility of that.
It has been reported that light discussions have continued regarding KAIRI, and there is heavy interest in Japan that is being held up by the AEW talks.
KAIRI has been a free agent since July, after WWE released her in April. She has also been announced for Chris Jericho’s Rock N Wrestling Rager at Sea cruise, and earlier reports from Wrestling Observer indicated AEW was in talks with her.
