Will Ospreay has booked his next title defence.
The AEW World Champion made an appearance on the post-All Out media scrum after successfully defending his title against Jon Moxley in the main event of the PPV. When asked about his next challenger, the champ called out Kazuchika Okada.
Okada showed up with Don Callis by his side, and Will Ospreay mentioned that he would have loved the former NJPW star to be part of his All In entrance. The champ then laid out the challenge for a World title match at the Grand Slam: France event next month:
Okada, there have been so many years where I’ve looked at you as an older brother, and you have been an incredible mentor to me. When I done my entrance at All In, the one person I really wanted to see back there was you, and I didn’t get to see you there.
I’ve leveled up, and I’m one of the best professional wrestlers in the world right now. I want you to challenge me for my World Championship on October 6 in Paris. Do you accept?
The Rainmaker accepted this challenge, and the match was made official by Tony Khan on the spot. Okada then made his exit after saying, “bonjour, bitches!”
The Grand Slam: France event will be taking place from Adidas Arena in Paris on October 6. Apart from the World title bout, AEW has announced a singles match between Chris Jericho and Nick Wayne for the show.
