Will Ospreay candidly revealed one of the biggest honors he has received in his professional wrestling career.
The Aerial Assassin was a guest on Insight with Chris Van Vliet. During the conversation, he talked about kicking out at one from Kenny Omega’s One-Winged Angel during their blockbuster match at All In 2026, and he was very proud of it.
We labeled it Plan B because our Plan A got ruined because somebody done it in their match. So Plan B was One Wing Angel, kick out at one, Stormbreaker, kick out at one, then finish. I was proud of that one, but being honest, the thing that will never leave me ever. Kenny allowing me to kick out of the One Wing Angel.
Moreover, Ospreay reflected on the fact that Omega could have let other top competitors break the fall for the move he protected for 14 years. Yet, he chose him, and he called it one of the biggest honors he has received as a wrestler.
The significance and the importance behind that move cannot be understated. He has protected that move for 14 years. The only person to ever kick out of it was (Kota) Ibushi, who was his long-time tag partner. The fact that he allowed me, and you think about the historical feuds that he’s had: Okada, Tana, Ibushi, Hangman, and he saved it for me. That’s one of the biggest honors and the biggest accomplishments I think I’ve ever been given as a performer, as a wrestler.
The match concluded with Will Ospreay beating Kenny Omega and winning his first-ever AEW World Championship. The victory was even more heartwarming as it took place in his hometown of London, England.
Ospreay will make his first PPV title defense at All Out 2026 against his former ally, Jon Moxley. It will be interesting to see whether he succeeds in this major match.
