Brie Bella was bummed at not getting to wrestle in Europe.
The last couple of episodes of SmackDown emanated from Spain and Italy, respectively, with WWE bringing their weekly Flagship shows to Europe as part of their Clash In Italy tour. The duo of Paige and Brie Bella was featured on both these shows in backstage segments, but they did not get the chance to appear in front of the live crowd.
During the latest episode of The Nikki and Brie Show, one-half of the current Women’s Tag Champions talked about this trip. Brie Bella claimed that she was sad at not getting the chance to appear in front of the crowd during either of these shows. The former Divas Champion then revealed that they were actually supposed to have a match at the June 5 episode of SmackDown from Bologna, before a last-minute change:
And then the Friday, the SmackDown after, Paige and I thought we had a match, and then we didn’t, and we were so sad. We were like, ‘Can we please walk out to the crowd and cut a promo and do all that,’ which actually we originally were supposed to be out in the crowd and do this thing out in the arena. And last minute it got switched. We were so bummed. I was like, ‘How is it that I’m in Europe and I did not once walk out to any of those fabulous, high-energy crowds?’
The latest SmackDown episode saw Fatal Influence running into the Women’s Tag Team Champions backstage for the second week in a row. The group ended up attacking the WWE veterans this time around, and they posed with the title belts to end the segment. The Friday Night show will return to US, with this week’s episode coming live from Providence, Rhode Island.
