WWE Hall of Famer Set For In-Ring Return After 11 Years

Road Dogg is lacing up his boots again. The WWE Hall of Famer is booked to wrestle later this month, which would be his first match since early 2015.

He’ll team with Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal on October 22 at Jeff Jarrett’s All-Star Super Slam, part of the Hendersonville Pig Fest at Veterans Park in Hendersonville, Tennessee. The show celebrates Jarrett’s 40th year in professional wrestling, and the main event sees the trio face QT Marshall, Elijah Drago, and Brady Booker.

Road Dogg’s last official match was at the 2015 Royal Rumble, where he and Billy Gunn lost to The Ascension in under six minutes as the New Age Outlaws.

The booking is a surprise given what Gunn said earlier this year. He shut down the idea of another Outlaws run and suggested the years in the business had taken too much of a physical toll on Road Dogg for him to work matches again.

Road Dogg has stayed busy around wrestling in the meantime. He left WWE’s SmackDown creative team earlier this year and was later seen backstage at TNA Slammiversary while talks about him joining that company were reportedly underway. Those discussions never produced a deal.
