WWE Legend No Longer Has "The Hunger" To Return To Wrestling

A multi-time WWE Women's Champion doesn't want to disappoint her fans with an in-ring return since she has no desire left for it.

A WWE legend has made it clear she isn’t getting back in the ring.

She is former five-time WWE Women’s Champion Melina Perez. In a recent QnA session on TikTok, she was asked about a potential return to the ring. Melina straight-up declined, saying she no longer had the hunger to compete as an in-ring performer, but still loved watching wrestling.

The former MnM member said that the current wrestlers had that hunger and desire, which made it a good television product. Since Melina didn’t have that in her anymore, she did not want to return to disappoint her fans. You can watch the video posted online below:

So I’m not going back to the ring. Everyone keeps asking me this and I say no, no. I love to watch, I love to … just be around it. Now, I think those days is just different. I don’t have the hunger and you need the hunger. You need that because you see it. So, when you watch your favorite wrestlers wrestling, if they don’t, they have that hunger. That’s what makes it even better to watch. So, I don’t have that. So, I disappoint you guys and I don’t wanna do that . I like talking.

Melina debuted in WWE in 2004 as MnM’s manager and then managed her then-partner, John Morrison. She later transitioned into a top singles star, wrestling the likes of Mickie James and Michelle McCool, and winning multiple Women’s titles.

WWE released her in 2011, after which she wrestled on the independent circuit for several years. However, Melina did make sporadic appearances for WWE, and her last match for the company saw her participating in the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble.

With Melina completely ruling out a wrestling return, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for her.
