WWE has no broadcast plan for Worlds Collide, and that looks deliberate.
Sources within WWE tell Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp there’s a real chance the September 26 show doesn’t air live at all. That could change before the bell rings.
As of Tuesday, those sources said Worlds Collide was still being treated internally as a live event rather than a broadcast one. One source believes that if it does get aired, it lands on YouTube or Club WWE.
The show runs at Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois, the same night AEW holds All Out nearby at Now Arena. It’s the first time this year WWE has booked a head-to-head date with AEW in the same market. They have done so with head-to-head dates earlier this year, including NXT’s Great American Bash against AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door in June and NXT Heatwave and an AAA show against AEW All In in August. Those events matched dates but not cities.
Fightful Select reached out to WWE for comment. The company did not respond.
Allstate Arena has four matches listed on its website for Worlds Collide. WWE has announced none of them. The venue in Rosemont, Illinois, is listing the following:
- CM Punk, Rey Mysterio and El Grande Americano against Dominik Mysterio, JD McDonagh and Omos.
- Penta and Rey Fenix against Perros del Mal.
- Las Tóxicas, the trio of Flammer, La Hiedra and Lady Maravilla, against Fatal Influence, the NXT group of Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid.
- Dragon Lee against Jack Cartwheel.
