WWE SmackDown Spoilers Airing September 4: Big Title Match

WWE taped the September 4 episode of SmackDown tonight (August 28) from Cleveland. Below are the full spoiler results from the show:

Opening segment: Gunther calls out Sami Zayn, who appears in the crowd. Zayn called CM Punk a snake and declared that no one will get a title shot until he did. Gunther goes after Sami but Finn Balor comes out. Kevin Owens then comes out and chases Zayn away.
Backstage Segment: CM Punk gives Johnny Gargano a pep talk and offers him a WWE title match tonight. Gargano finally gets up after months and accepts the offer.
Tag Team Match: Charlotte Flair and Tatum Paxley def. Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid: The Baddies came out after the non-title match and took out both the teams.
Backstage Segment: Paige interrupts a Nikki Bella interview and tells the WWE Hall of Famer “I built my career on hustle, loyalty, and respect; you just slept with it.” A match between the two was then announced for SmackDown in Mexico City.
Chelsea Green Promo: Nick Aldis is in the ring with a doctor and calls out the Interim Women’s Champion. Chelsea comes out and reveals that the doctor has cleared her to compete with a protective face mask. Nia Jax and Lash Legend come out demanding a match with Green, before Tiffany Stratton also shows up. Aldis makes the match between Jax and Green for SmackDown in Mexico city.

Singles Match: Nia Jax def. Tiffany Stratton: Green remained ringside for this bout and consoled Stratton after her loss.
The Miz Promo: Miz comes out with Kit Wilson and mentions that it was his 20th year in WWE. The crowd gives him a ‘Thank You Miz’ chant only for The Miz to tell them that his “greatest accomplishment is leaving Cleveland, Ohio.”
Tag Team Match: Shinsuke Nakamura & Kyoki def. The Miz and Kit Wilson: The duo of Nakamura and Kyoki were built as Bakusai. The MFTs came out with Haku and had a stare down with them after the bout.
Blake Monroe Interview: Cathy Kelley is talking to Monroe when Giulia attacks. The two women brawl through the arena with Giulia standing tall.
Backstage Segment: Johnny Gargano gets a pep talk from Sami Zayn. Zayn makes Gargano promise that he will get the first title shot if Johnny wins tonight.
Undisputed WWE Championship Match: CM Punk def. Johnny Gargano: Gargano used his Rebel Heart theme for his entrance. Kevin Owens, Gunther, Finn Balor and Sami Zayn all showed up towards the end of the bout. Zayn hit the champion with the title belt but CM Punk still managed to retain the championship. Punk then cut a promo telling Sami that he will get a title shot.
