Ex-WWE Wrestler Dunked on After Complaining About Unfair Coverage

Xelina, formerly Zelina Vega in WWE, accused Fightful on X of running misleading, out-of-context coverage, and the site fired back with a list of positive stories it has published about her. The exchange lands right after she said on a podcast that some WWE fans weren’t “smart enough” to keep up with her character work.

Xelina quote-posted a tweet from Cresta Starr saying the “get out” lights came on and people stayed until the very end of an event. Her own post told Fightful to “report on the good stuff for once” instead of what she described as misleading, taken out of context content. She said Fightful wouldn’t, adding that it wouldn’t draw people just looking for something, and the post cuts off before she says what.

What Fightful said it has covered

Fightful replied “for the sake of clarity” with a list of coverage of Xelina it says it has already run:

  • All of her HOG announcements
  • Her trademark filing for Xelina
  • Her explanation for the name
  • Her movie role for ReNew
  • Her career recap vignettes
  • Her choice to look at positives following her WWE departure
  • Her PROGRESS announcements
  • Her in-ring work with Cinna
  • Her OTT show announcements

Fightful closed the reply by saying “We’ve covered plenty of good stuff and do every day.”

It follows her podcast comments about fans

On Saturday, Fightful reported on an episode of the ZELVX and CHARLIE GIRL podcast in which Xelina and her co-host Charlie discussed fans not understanding the changes they made to their characters. Xelina, who changed her hair color at times in WWE, said fans who didn’t get it weren’t “smart enough” and predicted people would eventually look back and say she was ahead of her time. It isn’t clear which coverage she was referring to in her post about Fightful.

WWE released Xelina on April 24, 2026, as part of its post-WrestleMania roster cuts, according to Wrestling Inc. She has since returned to the ring at House of Glory and picked up a win teaming with Tommy End. Her trademark filing for Xelina surfaced in July, in a roundup of released WWE stars cleared to sign anywhere.
