New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) was founded by Antonio Inoki on January 13, 1972, making it the largest and longest-running professional wrestling promotion in Japan. Its most significant annual event is Wrestle Kingdom, held at the Tokyo Dome since 1992. NJPW was owned by Yuke's from 2005 to 2012 before being sold to Bushiroad. The promotion has partnered with numerous organizations worldwide including WWE, WCW, TNA, ROH, and AEW.
