Jon Moxley is set to face Shingo Takagi at Wrestle Kingdom 21 at the Tokyo Dome on January 4, 2027.
The match was set at NJPW’s 2026 Power Struggle event, where The Death Riders (Moxley and Wheeler Yuta) returned to New Japan. They faced Unbound Co.’s Jeff Cobb and Takagi, and Cobb pinned Yuta for the win. After the match, Takagi laid out Yuta with a Death Rider DDT.
Takagi has been calling out Mox for several weeks. He got on the microphone after the bell rang and set the stage for a singles match between them at Wrestle Kingdom 21.
This will mark their first one-on-one meeting since Moxley defeated Takagi in a no-DQ match at NJPW Battle in the Valley in 2024.
