Cody Rhodes Undergoing Knee Surgery, Talks NJPW-WWE

All Elite Wrestling executive Cody Rhodes held a Q&A session on Twitter over the weekend. After losing the IWGP United States Championship to Juice Robinson at Friday’s NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 13 PPV, Cody answered some fan questions before arriving back in the United States for Tuesday’s AEW Double or Nothing rally in Jacksonville, FL.

Cody revealed that his knee is “shot” and shouldn’t even be walking on it, let alone wrestling. He is currently dealing with multiple meniscus tears, but will be getting ‘scoped’ after the AEW rally and expects to make a full recovery.

At Tuesday’s Double or Nothing Rally, AEW will provide details about All Elite’s inaugural live event. When asked if All Elite Wrestling plans to hold shows at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, Cody said they hope to answer as many fan questions as possible at the rally.

A fan asked Cody how he could apply to be a member of a wrestling promotion’s creative writing team. Cody encouraged the fan to send their work to the company that’s hiring.

When asked about his favorite company and era in pro wrestling, Cody named WCW 1984-1994. Finally, Cody got into it with a contentious fan who claims New Japan “doesn’t matter” because their top shows don’t draw well. The fan said they would laugh their ass off when the Royal Rumble draws more fans than Wrestle Kingdom did over the weekend. Wrestle Kingdom drew around 38,000 fans. Cody replied:
