Jason Kelce Defends Pro Wrestling: ‘As Real as Any TV Show’

0

NFL legend Jason Kelce has defended pro wrestling from detractors who dismiss those who risk their bodies in the ring as ‘fake.’ Speaking on the Rich Eisen Show, Kelce pointed at the fallacy of those who criticize wrestling but still enjoy other scripted entertainment.

“People say wrestling is fake. So is the TV show you’re watching. You can still have a level of respect for the amazing physical specimens doing outrageous things.”

Kelce grew up watching both WWE and WCW, though never really got into WrestleMania until he was invited to participate. At this year’s event, Kelce and Lane Johnson helped Rey Mysterio and Andrade defeat Santos Escobar and Dominik Mysterio. Although Kelce didn’t take any bumps at WrestleMania 40, it was important to him to gain a painful education about what wrestlers put themselves through.

“I learned how to bump, how to clothesline, how to get slapped in the chest and act like it doesn’t hurt. It actually does hurt.”

While some still put down wrestling as fake, many are wise to the fact that while pre-determined, those who step into the ring take genuine risks in the name of entertainment. Kelce has yet to make an appearance for WWE since WrestleMania, but if he does, the former offensive lineman will return to the squared circle with a genuine respect and appreciation for the Superstars.

Bianca Belair Meets Vanessa Hudgens Backstage At WWE Raw

0

One-half of the Women’s tag team champions Bianca Belair recently came across Hollywood star Vanessa Hudgens.

Hudgens, who is an avid WWE fan, made her presence felt at the November 25th episode of WWE Raw, and she was on-camera. She whipped her hair like Belair, and even acknowledged Roman Reigns.

WWE dropped a video clip on social media which Hudgens met Bianca Belair in a backstage segment. Hudgens and Belair whipped their hair, and they hugged in a heartfelt moment. ‘The EST of WWE’ stated that she was excited that Hudgens was there and the latter also shared the same excitement.

Last night, Bianca Belair emerged victorious in the WarGames Advantage for her team, which found its fifth member. In the main event of the show, Belair squared off against WWE Women’s Champion Nia Jax. They went back and forth, and Belair had her strength on display during the clash. In the final moments of the match, Bayley came out and tripped up Jax. ‘causing her to hit an exposed turnbuckle. ‘The EST’ took advantage of it and scored the win.

Belair and Bayley looked at each other and nodded following the match. It appears that Bayley will join Belair’s team for the Women’s WarGames Match at WWE Survivor Series: WarGames.

Belair’s team had been down a member as Jade Cargill was attacked backstage and taken out of the match. It is still unclear who attacked Cargill. At WWE Survivor Series: WarGames, Belair, Naomi, Rhea Ripley, IYO SKY, and now seemingly Bayley will team up to take on the team of Jax, Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, Tiffany Stratton, and Candice LeRae.

Ricky Starks’ AEW Contract Reportedly Extended By AEW

0

Ricky Starks has not entered the free agency market because AEW has chosen to extend his deal into 2025 despite his recent absence.

The AEW status of the former FTW Champion has been a mystery for fans for a long time. He has stated multiple times that he is not injured, yet Starks has not been featured in a match for AEW since March.

He recently made his return to the independent circuit, showing up at a GCW event to vent frustrations about being forced to sit home and let his momentum die out.

Fightful Select is now reporting that Starks’ AEW contract was actually set to expire sometime in spring this year and he was hoping to test the open markets.

The officials, however, decided to pick the option year in his deal. This extended his run with the company through the spring or summer of 2025.

Despite picking up the option year, Starks hasn’t been factored much into the promotion’s creative plans since his last match, and there haven’t been a lot of pitches to bring him back.

Ricky Starks was famously spotted walking with Cody Rhodes before his Royal Rumble 2023 victory. He was also seen celebrating The American Nightmare’s WrestleMania 40 win as part of the audience. Both these events are believed to have affected his standing within Tony Khan’s promotions.

Though the former champion was spotted in backstage photos of the most recent Full Gear PPV last Saturday, and the report claims that he was welcomed at the show.

Hopefully, the top brass will be able to communicate any differences with the 34-year-old after his latest visit and we’ll see him back on TV sooner rather than later.

Hornswoggle Recalls Being Paralysed When He Was 4 Years Old

0

Hornswoggle has revealed that he was paralyzed from the waist down when he was just four years old.

The former WWE star recently appeared on Undertaker’s Six Feet Under podcast. He discussed things such as his start in wrestling, hiding under the ring, and more.

Talking about the various health issues he has had to deal with throughout his life, Hornswoggle revealed that he was born with a bad case of scoliosis. He underwent surgery to make things better when he was just four years old but the former Cruiserweight champion actually ended up getting paralyzed from the waist down:

“When I was young my people, we’re born with scoliosis. When I was born, I had it real bad and when I was four, they tried to do the surgery on me to straighten it.

The doctor never did a surgery on a person like me. So he cut me open, he hit a nerve in my spine and ended up paralyzing me cuz he’s never done surgery on my people. I was four. I had that surgery and then was paralyzed from the waist down and just full body cast.”

No Trampolines And No Contact Sports: Hornswoggle

Hornswoggle had to get another surgery where a rod was inserted into his back after this. After the second surgery, the doctor had warned Swoggle’s parents about playing dangerous sports:

“Then we found a doctor in Minneapolis who specializes in little person surgeries and put a rod in my back. First thing he says when we get out of surgery to my parents at the time is ‘Hey no trampolines and no contact sports.’

Years and years later obviously when I started working for WWE, He randomly like emailed or called my dad or something. He was like ‘I see he didn’t listen to me very much’ and my dad goes ‘yeah he didn’t listen to me either obviously'”

The former WWE star later revealed that over time his nerves have gone around his spine and cut feelings from his legs. While he’s still able to use his legs, he can’t feel any sensation in them. Per Swoggle his legs always just feel cold.

The Young Bucks Set Sights On IWGP Tag Titles For Wrestle Dynasty

0

The Young Bucks have set their sights on capturing the IWGP Tag Team Championships at the first-ever Wrestle Dynasty pay-per-view in January. In a video segment from their home, the brothers opened things up by telling someone on the phone to “cry me a river,” a nod to Jack Perry’s infamous line from All In: London aimed at CM Punk.

After hanging up the phone, the Bucks shared that they’re tired of working from home and plan to return to the ring at the January 5, show. The pair described regaining the IWGP Tag Titles as an accolade they need to reach before they retire and warned Toyko that their “rich God-fearing uncles” are coming back.

The Bucks won the titles at Dominion 6.9 in June 2018, and would hold the gold for 113 days. Their time with the gold ended at Fighting Spirit Unleashed in September at the hands of the Guerrillas of Destiny (Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa.)

The titles are currently held by the United Empire (Great-O-Khan and Jeff Cobb). The duo won the gold from TMDK at Power Struggle earlier this month.

Wrestle Dynasty 2025

Wrestle Dynasty will emanate from the legendary Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan, just one day after NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 19. The show will feature talent from AEW, New Japan Pro Wrestling, Ring of Honor, STARDOM, and Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre.

The match card for the show so far is as follows:

  • Kenny Omega Vs. Gabe Kidd
  • Yota Tsuji vs. Jack Perry
  • Shingo Takagi (c) or Konosuke Takeshita vs. Tomohiro Ishii (NEVER Openweight Championship)
  • Zack Sabre Jr. Vs. Ricochet
  • Shota Umino Vs. Claudio Castagnoli
  • International Women’s Cup Four-Way
  • Possible: The Young Bucks Vs. United Empire (Great-O-Khan and Jeff Cobb) (c) (IWGP Tag Team Championships)

With the long-awaited return of Kenny Omega to the ring, as well as Mercedes Mone teasing a role, Wrestle Dynasty will see plenty of AEW representation. Now, fans can look forward to seeing the Young Bucks back in the ring, should the AEW EVPs get their wish and a shot at United Empire.

Ricky Starks On AEW Hiatus: ‘I Have Speculation On Why I’m Not Used’

0

Ricky Starks isn’t short of theories as to why he’s not being used in AEW, but is optimistic that things will work out for him in the end. Starks hasn’t competed since March, when he and Big Bill lost to Top Flight on an episode of AEW Collision.

On the Insight podcast, Starks shared that he did receive a ‘stinger’ in the match, but made sure to get checked out and given the all-clear afterwards. Instead of an injury, Starks is simply sitting at home waiting to be used by AEW, a hiatus he’s no fan of.

“It’s a mindf*** because I’m in my prime, and it sucks when you’re on such a momentum, riding the wave and doing stuff, and then to just be at home for so long… it throws you off.”

Starks is not meant to be at home, the AEW star added and confirmed that despite his break, he is still under contract with the promotion. When asked what’s really going on, Starks pleaded ignorance of any backstage reasons for his absence.

“Beats me, beats me. I could have a thousand theories about what’s really going on… Do I have speculations about why [I’m not being used?] Absolutely.”

Starks couldn’t pinpoint an exact time when he noticed the pattern where he wasn’t being used and has remained active in the ring in training despite his break from TV. Despite this setback, Starks is sticking by a mantra that he employs for more than just his career.

“The belief that I always have is that things will work out. Every time. Every time. Every time. Every time. Every time.”

Starks recently vented his frustrations at a GCW show, giving fans another layer of intrigue as to what’s to come in his future. It’s no secret that Starks is close friends with Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, and the talented young star has caught the attention of those in WWE NXT.

Tony Khan has commended Starks as a fantastic talent, though that hasn’t been enough to earn Starks a spot on any AEW show in close to eight months. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on Ricky Starks as fans await to see what his future holds, and where, in the ring.

Big Boom A.J. Confirms Full Gear Injury, Future With AEW

0

Big Boom A.J. has confirmed that he suffered an injury during his Full Gear match but announced that he is not done with wrestling just yet.

The TikTok star posted a video addressing the news first reported by Fightful Select. He noted that he was able to finish the match despite the injury because of the adrenaline of being back in the ring and in front of the crowd:

“The story is out there. I did break my foot in the ring Saturday night. I think it happened somewhere right around the flying clothesline. But you know, the adrenaline was kicking.

Everyone at the Prudential Center was bringing the boom. I had big justice in my corner, the rizzler right there. Of course, Ashley, Mama justice, Whole family right there. So I guess that adrenaline kicked in and I was able to finish the match.”

The Costco Guys Are All Elite

Tony Khan had extended the invitation to AJ to return to AEW after his match. The former indie wrestler confirmed during the video that he’ll be returning to the ring for the company after his recovery. He teased involvement with the wrestling promotion during his rehab as well:

“I have been in touch with Tony Khan today, also with the other executives at AEW, and I will be coming back. I will be back in the ring again. Do not worry about that.

Big Boom AJ has about a six-to-eight-week recovery here, but then I will be back in the ring again. I will be doing a few things with AEW during that time. So stay tuned. We got some real fun stuff coming your way.”

Big Boom went on to thank everyone at AEW who allowed to him to be part of the show after he had not been in the ring for 20 years. He said that both him and Big Justice are ‘All Elite’ and they’ll be back in the ring very soon.

Cody Rhodes & LA Knight In Action After (11/25) WWE Raw

0

Fans at the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale were in for a treat after this week’s episode of WWE Monday Night Raw went off the air. The show served as the go-home show for Survivor Series: WarGames, as well as the introduction of the Women’s Intercontinental Championship. In the main event, Bianca Belair defeated Nia Jax to give the EST’s team the entry-order advantage this weekend inside WarGames.

The post-show antics at this week’s Raw saw not one but two championships on the line. First up, LA Knight retained the United States Championship against Santos Escobar. Knight will defend the title against Shinsuke Nakamura at Survivor Series: WarGames, a match made official during Raw.

Up next, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes put his title on the line against Solo Sikoa in a Street Fight. Once again, Rhodes stood tall over the leader of The Bloodline and sent the crowd home happy.

Rhodes’ attention will now turn towards Kevin Owens, who will challenge Cody for the title at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 14. Stay tuned to SEScoops from all the latest from WWE Raw, both on and off the air.

Vanessa Hudgens Acknowledges Roman Reigns During WWE Raw Appearance

0

Actress Vanessa Hudgens was in attendance for this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw from the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona.

The High School Musical and Bad Boys star was shown on screen during the broadcast. She spinned her braid like Bianca Belair and also acknowledged the Tribal Chief by copying the Bloodline’s trademark pose:

Hudgens is a longtime wrestling fan. She previously shared stories on her social media about Dirty Dom’s betrayal of Rhea Ripley and his new alliance with Liv Morgan at this year’s SummerSlam.

Vanessa was also one of the stars who posed with the Gold WWE Championship belt gifted to Snoop Dogg. After the belt was stolen from Snoop, names such as Pete Davidson, William Shatner and NFL star Rob Gronkoswki have all posted stories with it.

WWE also made a big announcement for the Women’s Division on this week’s Raw, unveiling the brand-new Women’s Intercontinental Championship. Adam Pearce announced a tournament to crown the Inaugural champion beginning next week.

Apart from this, the company announced a couple of new title matches for Saturday’s Survivor Series PPV and the show featured a heated exchange between Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods ahead of New Day’s 10-year anniversary celebration.

Xavier Woods And Kofi Kingston Trade Personal Shots In Intense Segment Ahead of New Day Anniversary

0

Tensions have reached an all-time high between New Day teammates Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston before the anniversary of the group’s in-ring debut.

The duo fought The Alpha Academy on the November 25 Raw. Kingston was in the ring to begin the action at the start, but Woods tagged himself in.

Otis imminently levelled both the New Day stars and he then took out Kingston with The Caterpillar. Tozawa tagged in and delivered a senton to Woods for the win.

Woods was very frustrated with the loss and he started chewing out Kingston after the match. The two continued arguing all the way to the back.

Their relationship reached an all-time low as both stars started taking personal shots at each other. Woods claimed that Kofi only got the world title opportunity because of him and that he ‘pissed it all away’ in 6 seconds in the loss against Brock Lesnar.

Kingston wasn’t behind in the war of words. He said Xavier wasn’t good enough to be a world champion like him and Big E. He reminded the 38-year-old that it was Woods who extended the offer to form a group and not the other way around.

This segment comes before the announced 10-year anniversary celebration for the 12-time Tag Team Champions which WWE has set for the December 2 episode of Raw. The tag team made their official in-ring debut on November 28, 2014.

The storyline seems to be building toward the TV return of Big E. The big question is what role the former NXT Champion will play when he finally returns to the company.

Watch Bret Hart Appear In Latest Episode Of American Dad on TBS

0

WWE Hall of Famer Bret ‘Hitman’ Hart is heading to Langley Falls as part of an episode of the hit animated series American Dad. On X, Hart shared a clip of himself on the latest episode of the show. Not only does Bret’s appearance include his iconic WWE theme song, but show-regular Klaus makes reference to Hart being Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s Most Hated Wrestler of the Year in 1997.

The Hitman is no stranger to being recreated in animated form, as he appeared in The Simpsons in 1997. That episode sees Hart purchase the mansion of Mr. Burns after the evil billionaire falls on hard times. Not only does Hart voice himself in the episode (though was reportedly originally going to play a Russian,) but he is delighted that the ‘Shrieking Sheik,’ a nod to the Iron Sheik, lives in the same neighborhood.

The two-time WWE Hall of Famer also provided the voice of the pro wrestler character “The Hooded Fang” in Jacob Two-Two. Now, Hart has added American Dad to his animated repertoire, as the legendary wrestler continues to be celebrated decades after the end of his in-ring career.

United States Title Match Confirmed for WWE Survivor Series: WarGames

0

Fans at this weekend’s Survivor Series: WarGames PLE will see plenty of title match action when WWE comes to Winnipeg, Manitoba.

On the latest episode of Monday Night Raw, Wade Barrett shared that he had some ‘bad news’ to deliver to the WWE Universe. The Brit’s bad news was that LA Knight would defend his United States Title at Survivor Series: WarGames against Shinsuke Nakamura.

The King of Strong Style returned a few weeks ago on SmackDown by attacking Knight and has repeatedly had the upper hand on the Megastar. Knight has held the gold since SummerSlam in August, where he ended the lengthy reign of Logan Paul.

Nakamura is already a former two-time United States Champion but last held the gold in January of 2019. This week’s Raw also saw an Intercontinental Championship match confirmed for Survivor Series: WarGames.

WWE Unveils Women’s Intercontinental Championship

0

WWE has officially announced the new Women’s Intercontinental Championship for the Monday Night Raw roster.

The new title belt was unveiled by General Manager Adam Pearce before this week’s episode of the Red Branded show went on air. The company aired the segment during the broadcast later on.

Pearce mentioned how the Men’s IC title has been a beacon of opportunity in WWE for over 40 years and it’s been a championship held by workhorses of the business.

He then claimed that the Women’s Divison is the true workhorse of the company. Pearce went on to reveal the new title belt with the classic white strap:

This announcement comes after WWE also announced the Women’s Speed Championship and the Women’s US title in recent months.

Candice LeRae was crowned the first-ever Women’s Speed Champion after a tournament during the October 9 episode of the social media exclusive show.

A 12 women’s tournament is currently in progress to determine the first-ever Women’s US Champion with Bayley, Chelsea Green, and Michin already having advanced to the Semifinals. The final of the tournament will be taking place at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 14.

Adam Pearce confirmed that a similar tournament to crown the Inaugural Women’s IC champion will begin on Raw next week. No participants have been announced for the same yet.

Intercontinental Match Announced For WWE Survivor Series: WarGames

0

WWE has officially announced that the Intercontinental Championship will be defended at the upcoming Survivor Series: WarGames Premium Live Event.

On this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, Bron Breakker faced Ludwig Kaiser in a singles match. However, the bout ended in controversy when Sheamus rushed to the ring and blindsided Kaiser, causing a disqualification. The chaos escalated as Breakker joined the fray, prompting security to intervene and separate the brawling Superstars. Amid the turmoil, Raw General Manager Adam Pearce declared that Breakker would defend his Intercontinental Championship against both Kaiser and Sheamus in a Triple Threat Match at Survivor Series: WarGames.

Despite Being Medically Cleared, Adam Copeland’s AEW In-Ring Return Is Still Delayed

0

Adam Copeland is on the road to returning to in-ring action after recovering from a significant injury.

During the Barbed Wire Steel Cage Match at AEW’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view event in Las Vegas, Nevada, Copeland successfully retained his AEW TNT Title. However, the intense match came at a cost. The brutal encounter featured chairs, tables, barbed wire, and other weapons, pushing both competitors to their limits.

Copeland sustained his injury while performing a high-risk elbow drop from the top of the cage. He landed awkwardly on his legs after crashing onto Black, who was positioned on a table. This mishap resulted in a fractured tibia, requiring a grueling 12-hour surgery.

According to PWInsider.com, Copeland has been medically cleared for physicality but is not expected to resume regular appearances with AEW until after completing filming for the second season of Disney’s Percy Jackson. Hollywood sources suggest production will wrap in January.

As of now, it remains unclear what AEW has planned for the WWE Hall of Famer upon his return.

WWE Planning To Introduce Women’s Intercontinental Title

0

Earlier this month, WWE launched a tournament to crown the inaugural WWE Women’s United States Champion, an exclusive title for SmackDown. Now, another major milestone is in the works for the Raw brand: the introduction of a Women’s Intercontinental Championship.

The Women’s United States Championship marks a historic addition to WWE’s main roster, becoming the first secondary women’s title alongside the previously established Women’s North American Championship in NXT. This progression highlights WWE’s commitment to expanding opportunities within the women’s division.

According to PWInsider.com, WWE plans to introduce the Women’s Intercontinental Championship, making it exclusive to Raw, mirroring the men’s title structure. While no official launch date has been announced, the move promises to bring further prestige and depth to the Raw women’s roster.

Meanwhile, the Women’s United States Championship tournament on SmackDown has progressed to the semifinals after an exciting series of opening-round triple-threat matches. The winners will face off in the finals at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 14, where the first-ever champion will be crowned.

Fans eagerly await both the culmination of the tournament and further details about the Women’s Intercontinental Championship, which could mark another game-changing moment for WWE’s women’s division.

AEW Grand Slam: Australia Expected To Move To Different Venue After Poor Ticket Sales

0

AEW will host Grand Slam: Australia on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane. The event was officially announced during the All In: London 2024 pay-per-view, following an earlier report by The Sporting News that the promotion planned a stadium show in Australia for 2025. However, ticket sales for the event have reportedly been underwhelming.

Suncorp Stadium, which has a listed capacity of 52,000 for football, may no longer be the venue for the event. Since tickets went on sale, reports of low demand have raised concerns. AEW has faced challenges throughout the year, including declining ticket sales and lower television ratings, potentially contributing to the poor turnout.

According to Fightful Select, a venue change is likely, with an official announcement expected soon. As of now, it remains unclear which venue might host the show instead. AEW will run All In 2025 on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, which marks AEW’s first PPV event to be held in an American baseball stadium and in Texas.

This development comes shortly after AEW’s successful Full Gear pay-per-view, which drew over 10,000 fans. The promotion returns to Chicago this Wednesday for Dynamite and Collision.

CM Punk Reflects on WWE Return Anniversary: “We’re Just Getting Started”

0

CM Punk is feeling grateful on the one-year anniversary of his epic return to WWE, and has promised that there’s plenty more to come. Taking to his Instagram Stories, the Chicago-Made star reflected on his return at Survivor Series: WarGames 2023 in his hometown.

“Happy one year anniversary of my rerun to WWE. Thank you to all the fans for waiting, chanting my name for years an carrying me on this journey. Thank you to my family and friends backstage for the warmth and continued support. Thank you to Paul [Levesque,] Nick [Khan] and Bruce [Prichard] for the trust and making it all happen. Love you all! We are just getting started!”

image 12

Punk’s heartfelt message was juxtaposed with an image of Seth Rollins’ volatile response to Punk’s return last year. Rollins’ response, which wasn’t shown during Punk’s return, blurred the lines of reality and kayfabe and left fans pondering whether the two had real ‘heat.’ Despite a feud being teased, the pair have yet to compete, thanks in part to both men missing periods of 2024 due to injuries.

What’s Next?

Punk’s immediate future will see him enter WarGames this weekend at Survivor Series to team with the OG Bloodline against Solo Sikoa’s faction. Punk has also spoken of challenging for the World Heavyweight Championship when the time is right, a title that’s been held by GUNTHER since SummerSlam in August. Whatever comes next, Punk is seeing a long future ahead of him in WWE, just one year after the AEW alum made his return that shocked the world.

Cody Rhodes vs. Kevin Owens Set for WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on Dec. 14

0

WWE has officially announced a highly anticipated match for its upcoming event, Saturday Night’s Main Event, scheduled for December 14, 2024. Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes will defend his title against Kevin Owens in what promises to be an intense showdown in light of their very personal rivalry.

The match will be streamed live on Peacock and the WWE Network, and marks a significant moment as Rhodes, who has been a fighting champion, will face Owens, a former ally.

Jerry Seinfeld Reveals How Saturday Night’s Main Event Was Linked To The Creation Of Seinfeld

The feud between the two has intensified, especially after Owens’ recent actions, including a brutal attack on Rhodes following their tag team victory at WWE Bad Blood. Rhodes previously defeated Owens at WWE Bash in Berlin back in August 2024, but this time stakes are higher as Owens aims to reclaim the championship title he has held only once before.

With both superstars known for their resilience and competitive spirit, the upcoming title match is set to be a highlight of the WWE calendar. Fans can expect an intense battle as Rhodes seeks to maintain his championship reign against a determined Owens.

CM Punk’s WWE Return: Behind The Scenes At 2023’s Iconic Moment

0

On this day, one year ago, CM Punk shocked the wrestling world when he returned to WWE, close to a decade after his controversial 2014 exit. Punk’s return came mere months after his similarly controversial termination from AEW but what happened behind the scenes in Chicago’s All-State Arena?

CM Punk And Triple H

It was an agreement between CM Punk and WWE CCO Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque that resulted in Punk’s stunning return. It’s therefore fitting that Punk’s first comments after returning were to the Game.

“There’s nowhere else to go. This is as high as we’re going to get them. We’ve just gotta go home.”

Punk and Levesque embraced, which set the tone for the scene backstage as Punk hugged many names backstage. Among them included Stephanie McMahon, Kofi Kingston, and fellow AEW alum William Regal and Cody Rhodes.

Punk was thrilled to get a photo with Levesque, who said that the image would “blow up the internet.” True to his word, the picture instantly went viral and currently stands at close to 15 million views on X.

Stealing Randy’s Thunder

CM Punk wasn’t the only notable return at Survivor Series: WarGames 2023, as Randy Orton made his in-ring return after being out with a back injury since May 2022. Backstage, Orton was jokingly furious that he couldn’t have ten minutes to savor his return before Punk overshadowed him. The pair joked about Punk only returning to WWE to screw over the Viper before hugging it out.

WWE Superstar Reactions

Unsurprisingly, Punk’s epic return drew a ton of reactions from the roster who had competed earlier in the night. Shotzi commented “What a way to do it!” to which Dakota Kai agreed, adding that the experience had a “weird” feeling. Bayley echoed countless members of the WWE Universe, calling Punk’s stunning return “the freaking best!”

The loudest reaction of the night came from the Chicago crowd, who got to see Punk appear one more time after the show went off the air. In the 365 days since, Punk’s momentum with the fans has yet to waver, even in the face of the injury he suffered earlier this year. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on CM Punk as he prepares to enter WarGames this weekend at Survivor Series: WarGames in Vancouver.

Bryan Danielson’s Neck ‘Feels Like A Bobblehead’ As Surgery Awaits

0

Bryan Danielson has shared a concerning update about his ongoing neck issues, comparing his neck problems to being like a bobblehead. Speaking on the Nikki and Brie Show podcast, the former AEW World Champion spoke openly about his issues.

We don’t know what’s going to happen with my neck, but it honestly feels like I have a bobblehead.”

Despite these issues, Danielson made clear that he’s avoiding saying the dreaded ‘retirement’ word, with his recent feud with Swerve Strickland being the exception. The American Dragon added that while his in-ring career may not be fully over yet, he has grave concerns about getting back in the ring.

I can’t find the excitement and nervousness of wrestling, where something could go wrong at any moment.”

Brie shared that Bryan still needs to undergo surgery, something Danielson disclosed in the build-up to All In: London. Brie also wanted to give a “big post” when Bryan’s full-time career wrapped at WrestleDream, but Bryan himself said no, arguing that wrestlers never truly retire for good.

Neck issues are nothing new for Danielson who had to retire in 2016 as part of WWE and would miss two years of in-ring action. On the podcast, Bryan explained how he didn’t want to retire at the time, and it was hard for him to walk away, and to see “everybody” move on without him.

While Tony Khan has been optimistic that Danielson will be return to action in a part-time capacity, the American Dragon received a “beautiful funeral” at WrestleDream as far as Jon Moxley is concerned. Keep checking in with SEScoops for the latest on Danielson for when, if ever, fans see him in the ring again.

Wrestle Dynasty 2025 will take place on January 5, from the legendary Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan. The show will feature talent from AEW, New Japan Pro Wrestling, Ring of Honor, STARDOM, and Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre. The show will happen one day after NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 19, which will also air from the Toyo Dome.

Current Card for WrestleDynasty

The match card for Wrestle Dynasty so far is as follows:

Kenny Omega Vs. Gabe Kidd: After close to 400 days, Kenny Omega will finally be in action when he takes on the man who assaulted him at NJPW Power Struggle: Gabe Kidd

Shota Umino Vs. Claudio Castagnoli: A match that’ll be as physical as it gets, will the Death Riders’ Swiss powerhouse overcome the New Japan’s resident Roughneck?

International Women’s Cup Four Way: A representative from AEW, CMLL, ROH, and STARDOM will compete in this four-way, with the winner earning a title match from the participating promotion of their choosing.

The Young Bucks in Action: The Young Bucks have confirmed their role at Wrestle Dynasty, though time will tell who steps up to face the AEW EVPs.
