Bobby Roode & Kevin Owens Brawl (Video), Becky Lynch & Charlotte Fire Back At The IIconics

1

Bobby Roode & Kevin Owens Brawl (Video)

WWE posted a video on their official Twitter page from their live event in North Charleston, South Carolina. In the video, Bobby Roode & Kevin Owens brawl outside the ring. “The Glorious One” wound up defeating Owens when it was all said and done.

Check out the video here:

Owens is currently feuding with Braun Strowman on Monday Night RAW. He will face “The Monster Among Men” at SummerSlam on August 19th. Should “KO” emerge victorious, he will win Strowman’s Money In The Bank (MITB) briefcase.

Roode is also involved in a feud of his own on RAW. He has been butting heads with Mojo Rawley lately. They will square off on tonight’s show from Jacksonville, Florida.

Becky Lynch & Charlotte Flair Fire Back At The IIconics

Peyton Royce and Billie Kay, The IIconics, recently mocked Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair on Twitter. The pair pretended to act like Flair and Lynch, even mimicking their “tea time” gesture.

They also said that Lynch only won her matches on SmackDown Live while Flair was away nursing her injuries. The IIconics also took issue with Flair getting thrown in the SummerSlam SmackDown Live Women’s Title match for doing “absolutely nothing”:

Lynch and Flair offered a video response of their own. They noted that The IIconics haven’t defeated anyone of merit during their run on SmackDown Live. Flair and Lynch ended off by saying “isn’t that iconic?” Here’s the video:

The Miz Calls Daniel Bryan’s WWE Return A Bust

12

The Miz thinks Daniel Bryan’s WWE return has been a “100 percent bust.”

Bryan once thought his in-ring career with WWE was over. After suffering several concussions and seizures throughout his career, he was medically suspended from ever competing for WWE again.

WWE retained Bryan on television by making him General Manager of SmackDown Live. Despite this, Bryan never gave up on his hopes of one day returning to the ring. That all finally paid off earlier this year.

Bryan was reinstated as an active WWE competitor just in time for WrestleMania 34. He passed several tests from WWE-recommended specialists that allowed him to be cleared. He teamed up with Shane McMahon to defeat Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn at WrestleMania 34.

Now that Bryan is back in the WWE fold, it allows him to seek vengeance upon The Miz. While being sidelined, Miz continuously tortured Bryan about his inability to wrestle anymore.

Miz vs. Bryan

When it was announced Bryan had been cleared to return to WWE action, fans knew a match with The Miz was inevitable. WWE seems to be heading in that direction right about now. Bryan has continuously challenged Miz to a match at SummerSlam later this month.

Miz, however, continues to deny Bryan of his challenge. The former Intercontinental Champion claims he’s above a match with Bryan at this point in his career. He points to the success of his film career and brand new reality TV show “Miz & Mrs.” on USA Network. Miz thinks he deserves a bigger match-up than Bryan at “The Biggest Party Of The Summer.”

The Miz Calls Daniel Bryan’s WWE Return A Bust

Miz and Maryse recently did an interview with E! News. WWE released a portion of the interview on their YouTube Channel. During the interview, The Miz calls Daniel Bryan’s WWE return a bust:

“Do you think Daniel Bryan’s return from injury has been amazing or has been a bust? A complete 100% bust. Everything that I say is the truth and nobody else seems to understand that and I don’t get it.”

John Cena Has Advice For Fans, Torrie Wilson Calls Out TSA

John Cena Has Advice For Fans

John Cena has shared a rather inspirational message with his fans on Twitter. Cena, who is expected to make his WWE return in Shanghai, urged fans to be less set in their ways. He also suggested they break their routines and try new things.

Check out the Tweet here:

“Be less set in your ways. Routine allows for many comforts and conveniences, but can prevent you from learning valuable things about you. Do something different, or something you always wanted to.”

Torrie Wilson Calls Out TSA

Torrie Wilson is very upset about her experience with TSA at an Orlando airport. Wilson ranted about the event on Twitter and even identified the officer she took issue with.

The incident apparently even warranted Wilson to believe she could be kicked off the plane. Wilson asked fans to bail her out of jail should something happen. Here’s Wilson’s account of the incident:

“Officer BRACERO. . I thoroughly enjoyed the very detailed pat down your female officer gave me. (My choice) & watching u hold, swab & look at every piece in my purse slowly. feels dirty now w/your lovely energy.

“All cuz I giggled that u were so scared of my 3 lb dog. PS. I hope u get laid soon. Pss. It was also sooo funny that time when u laughed & told your co-worker I wanted a female pat down.

“Haha crazy huh?! If I get pulled off my plane & put in jail can someone please come bail me out?”

Renee Young Discusses Relationship With Dean Ambrose, Being Featured On Total Divas

0

Renee Young recently made an appearance on Chasing Glory with Lilian Garcia to talk about various topics including her experience on Total Divas as she has been a guest star for the majority of the run of the series on the E! Network and was even a main cast member for seasons four and five.

Young noted that it was a cool experience but once she was in the middle of it, she knew she would have to broach this subject with her significant other as she stated that she might not have been on the show if it was just because of her but rather because of her relationship with Dean Ambrose.

“It was hard, it was really hard and even now when I see the girls and their on the road, and you’ve got a camera in your face, and you’re taking these vacations that aren’t really vacations, it’s exhausting, it’s really a lot of work. I commend them all for doing it. For the people that it’s great for, its great for, but I think the problem that I essentially ran into was that I’m not a private person and my husband is.”

She added that didn’t want to make him do something that he didn’t want to do. Speaking of her relationship with Ambrose, she was asked how they got together as a couple and later married.

She brought up how they were always talking and connecting as friends and how she didn’t know that he doesn’t talk to anybody but rather just her.

“As soon as we actually like hung out, he came and met me in Orlando. We were on like neutral territory, I was down there doing NXT, because there was times when he said he was going to come to New York and I’m like, “You’re not staying in my apartment! What do you think that means?!” So he came to meet me in Orlando and we hung out and we’ve literally been together since.”

Timeframe For Dean Ambrose’s WWE Return Revealed

16

Former WWE Champion Dean Ambrose is slated to make his return to in-ring action for the WWE soon.

Mike Johnson of PWinsider.com is reporting that Ambrose is expected to return to WWE action within the next month and that he will be backstage at the upcoming SummerSlam pay-per-view event on Sunday, August 19, 2018 in Brooklyn, New York at the Barclays Center. The belief is that he should return to TV shortly after the event.

Ambrose has been out of action since late 2017 when he underwent surgery to repair a high-grade triceps tendon. The surgery took place in December, but the arm injury reportedly took place at the Tables, Ladders, and Chairs pay-per-view event back on October 22nd.

At TLC, Ambrose took a bump on a table that didn’t break and following the match, his right arm immediately swelled up. While Ambrose didn’t take any time off and continued to work through the pain, things got worse over time.

WWE originally stated Ambrose would be out nine months at the time of his surgery been announced.

As noted, Ambrose has been spotted regularly in Birmingham, Alabama rehabbing the injury and later at the WWE Performance Center in June in advance of his return.

Luke Harper Reveals Some Early Beef With Erick Rowan In WWE

5

Luke Harper and Erick Rowan didn’t always get along with one another.

The pair began working together in WWE as members of The Wyatt Family. Harper and Rowan even had a run with the NXT Tag Team Titles before being called up. The faction debuted back in 2013 by attacking Kane on an episode of Monday Night RAW.

Now, several years later, Wyatt is a former WWE World Champion who currently teams with Matt Hardy on RAW. Harper and Rowan are dominating SmackDown Live’s Tag Team division as the brand’s champions.

Harper recently joined Edge and Christian’s podcast, E&C’s Pod Of Awesomeness, to discuss his professional wrestling career. While discussing his early days in WWE as a member of the Wyatt Family, Luke Harper reveals some early beef with Erick Rowan.

We Hated Each Other

It turns out that Harper and Rowan actually hated one another when they initially began working together. Harper revealed that they were forced to room together and it wasn’t the most pleasant of experiences.

Now, of course, they’ve made things work and are successful because of it:

“When we first started, me and Rowan hated each other. I don’t know what it was. We just didn’t get along. We were forced to room together. He’s taller than me.

“If you look at some of my old pictures, I clearly tried to put weight on and it didn’t work well. He’s a f*cking giant and he snores. So, I didn’t sleep a lot. We just didn’t get along.

“Slowly came the realization of, ‘Hey man, we are stuck together. Are we gonna fight against it or are we just gonna do it?’ It took me a long time to realize that; but, when I did, we made it work way better”

Juice Robinson Comments On Poor G1 Climax 28 Record Thus Far

3

Juice Robinson has two matches remaining in the round-robin portion of this year’s G1 Climax tournament. So far, Juice has only managed a 2W-5L record. Last year in his first-ever G1, he finished with 8pts and a 4W-5L record.

He still has a chance to tie his record from last year. He’ll have to defeat Tomohiro Ishii and Hirooki Goto for that to happen, however. Juice commented on his performance in the tournament thus far and his upcoming matches recently backstage.

Juice Robinson G1 Climax 28

“What am I dead last? Do I even deserve to have this on my shoulder?” Robinson asked in regard to his IWGP United States Championship. “Well, we’re about to find out.”

Robinson is referring to the potential he will have to defend his championship against any and possibly all of the competitors who have defeated him in the G1 tournament thus far.

He has lost round-robin matches to Kota Ibushi, Kenny Omega, Tama Tonga, Tetsuya Naito, and Zack Sabre Jr. It’s unlikely Omega would choose to challenge for the US title as he is already the IWGP Heavyweight Champion. Naito has already said NJPW has too many titles and probably won’t challenge Juice for the title either. Ibushi will likely be involved in another angle as well. Either Tama Tonga or Zack Sabre Jr could challenge Juice in the near future, however.

Braun Strowman Discusses Relationship With Bray Wyatt

4

Braun Strowman has a special connection with Bray Wyatt in regards to his WWE career.

Before he was “The Monster Among Men,” Strowman was the monstrous force at the core of The Wyatt Family. The former strongman competitor trained with WWE for two years before getting the main roster nod.

He served as a Rose Bud for Adam Rose and worked a few NXT live events. In August of 2015 Strowman debuted on RAW by attacking Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose. He was then introduced as the newest member of The Wyatt Family.

After a year-long run with The Wyatts, Strowman was separated from the faction by way of the 2016 WWE Draft. Now, he is one of the top Superstars on Monday Night RAW and the current Mr. Money In The Bank.

Strowman recently spoke to SPN Action about his professional wrestling career. During their conversation, Braun Strowman discusses Bray Wyatt and the impact he has had on his career.

Not Just Friends, Brothers

He named Wyatt as his best-friend in the business before praising him for helping him along in his professional wrestling career. Strowman also said not only is Wyatt his best-friend, but he’s like a brother to him:

“It’s tough to keep a friend when you throw them off of cages and smash their car, eat their cake and do everything else. Behind the scenes, I’m friends with everyone at work, but without a doubt, my best friend is Bray Wyatt.

“The man pretty much brought me into the industry when they tagged me up with The Wyatt Family it was my seventh match I’d ever had. I didn’t know the difference between a headlock and a beele throw.

“Bray rode with me, showed me how to get around, how to book hotels, how to make the towns. Then he started helping me with learning how to wrestle and I will forever be indebted to him. He’s not my best friend, he’s my brother.”

Kiera Hogan Says Ember Moon Stole Her Gimmick

13

Impact Knockout, Kiera Hogan, is claiming former NXT Women’s Champion, Ember Moon, stole her gimmick. She claims the current Raw Superstar did so after both were at a WWE tryout together in 2015.

Hogan spoke with Fightful recently regarding her claims. She believes that after she pitched the character at the tryout, it was given to another performer. Then she says, Ember Moon would later adopt a similar character as well.

“I think the ‘Girl on Fire’ thing WWE probably gave to (Becky Lynch), but I bet Ember (pitched hers),” Hogan explained. “She was at my tryout. I saw her sign her contract, she cried when she signed her contract. After the tryout, she texts me and said ‘I wanna help you get booked on shows,’ after that I’ve never spoken to her and that was almost four years ago. I know she got the inspiration from me. It doesn’t help that we’re two black females, so I’ll automatically get compared to her.”

Kiera Hogan in Impact Wrestling

Hogan mentioned nothing came of her tryout with WWE but she’s happy with Impact Wrestling. “Impact knocked on my door first, and I’m happy to be there,” said Hogan.

Hogan recently teamed with Allie and defeated Knockouts Champion, Su Yung, and one of her undead bridesmaids.

Sasha Banks Names The Match That Made Her Want To Be Like Eddie Guerrero

6

Sasha Banks will always list Eddie Guerrero as one of her biggest influences. She was interviewed by Sky Sports earlier this year and spoke about how Eddie made her want to be a pro-wrestler.

“I knew right when I saw him that I wanted to do exactly what he did,” Banks said. “My whole life I’ve been like ‘watch Eddie, watch Eddie, watch Eddie’ and I wanted to be just like him.”

“He inspired me and I want to inspire people in the same way that he inspired me,” she continued. “I want little girls to feel how Eddie made me feel when I watched wrestling.”

Recently WWE.com asked Banks what match made her want to be like Eddie Guerrero.

Eddie Guerrero vs Rey Mysterio – WrestleMania 21

When Eddie Guerro met Rey Mysterio at WrestleMania 21 there were no titles on the line. It was just two of the top wrestlers in the world wrestling against each other. The two were co-holders of the WWE tag-team championships at the time. Sadly, Guerrero would pass away due to heart failure just seven months after wrestling Mysterio at WrestleMania 21.

The year before, Eddie Guerrero retained the WWE Championship against Kurt Angle. Guerrero had defeated Brock Lesnar for the championship at the No Way Out pay-per-view.

Sasha Banks and Women’s Tag-Team Division

Banks recently referenced a possible women’s tag-team division in her latest Instagram post:

Ronda Rousey vs. Alicia Fox Likely To Headline Tonight’s RAW

9

Ronda Rousey vs. Alicia Fox is likely to headline tonight’s episode of Monday Night RAW from Jacksonville, Florida.

Rousey vs. Fox will be the former UFC women’s bantamweight champion’s first match-up on Monday Nights. Given Fox’s real-life issues with Rousey’s husband from several months ago, it’s an interesting selection to welcome Rousey to the RAW ring to say the least.

Per Cageside Seats, Rousey is expected to win her match against Fox in impressive fashion to close out the show. “The Rowdy One” will challenge Alexa Bliss for the RAW Women’s Championship at SummerSlam later this month.
[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNQMEjbr-JA]

Rousey’s WWE Run

Rousey debuted inside the WWE ring at WrestleMania 34 this past April. She teamed up with Hall Of Famer and RAW General Manager Kurt Angle. The pair of former Olympians defeated Triple H and Stephanie McMahon in a Mixed Tag Team match. The bout arguably stole the show.

A few months later, Rousey returned to pay-per-view (PPV) competition, this time challenging Nia Jax for the RAW Women’s Title. The match went down at the Money In The Bank (MITB) PPV. At one point, Rousey was on the verge of winning the title.

Just before she could lock in her signature armbar, however, MITB briefcase winner Alexa Bliss attacked both women and cashed-in. Bliss pinned Jax for the win and left Chicago RAW Women’s Champion.

Now Rousey will get her shot at vengeance when she takes on “Little Miss Bliss” on August 19th from the Barclays Center.

Tenille Dashwood Discusses The IIconics, Progression Of Women’s Wrestling

6

Tenille Dashwood (also known as Emma in the WWE) has given her take on some interesting topics.

The former WWE star spoke with The Sunday Post to talk about various topics including The IIconics (Billie Kay and Peyton Royce, who are currently on the SmackDown Live roster.

Dashwood noted that she has known them since back in Australia and that she thinks they’re killing it right now as it’s cool for her to be one of the first ones that almost made people realize that it was possible (traveling from Australia to the United States). She added that they talk all the time and proud of them and excited for all the opportunities they’re getting now.

Switching gears, Dashwood also talked about the progression of women’s wrestling where she noted that it’s something special for her to be a part of as Ring of Honor is really investing time and effort into the women’s division and things have been great.

“There’s an array of talent and different competitors I haven’t faced before. I’ve got some first ever opponents on this tour so I’m really excited for that.

“Everyone knows how far women’s wrestling has come and I think a lot of us always had those big goals in mind but they didn’t necessarily always seem possible. Now we’re starting to see things happen and break through barriers. For me personally, I’ve been able to main event a number of independent shows outside Ring of Honor I’ve been doing as well. It’s been really exciting for me to do that for women’s wrestling and to have that opportunity.”

WWE Hall Of Famer Compares Top NXT Star To Shawn Michaels

11

One WWE Hall of Famer has given some high praise to a top NXT superstar.

That legend is DDP (Diamond Dallas Page) and that NXT star is NXT North American Champion Adam Cole. DDP was a recent guest on TSN 1050 Toronto to discuss various topics and in this interview, he compared Cole to WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels.

DDP stated that people are comparing Cole to Michaels, which he agrees as he thinks that he could live up to that comparison down the line. He noted that for people to believe he’s Michaels right now is the same thing as people saying that young kids in the NBA have to ability to be Michael Jordan and that Cole is in the same situation due to his ability, the work ethic, and knowledge.

“He’s gonna be just a huge superstar up in the WWE. He’s getting to work with Shawn Michaels down there as well.”

Cole is slated to defend the NXT North American Title against Ricochet at the upcoming NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn IV event that takes place on Saturday, August 18, 2018 in Brooklyn, New York at the Barclays Center and will air on the WWE Network.

Joe recently spoke with Sky Sports about this match and in this interview, he noted that he doesn’t feel the pressure going into it but knows that it’s his biggest match thus far in his career.

“Sure, yes, of course, I’m fighting for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam,” Joe said. “It’s a great opportunity for me. I’ve been in big matches before but it’s been with four other goons, but this is one-on-one and we’ll find out what’s what. … There’s no pressure whatsoever but only because I understand the capabilities of the people involved. I mean, I’m looking forward to it.”

Joe added that he knows what could go down in that ring and it’s all about getting ready for game day now and making it happen.

Speaking of this feud, Styles also tweeted the following about making his return to SmackDown Live this Tuesday night in Orlando, FL at the Amway Center after being off of television for a week.

Tama Tonga Issues Warning To Kota Ibushi Ahead of G1 Clash

0

Tama Tonga is currently competing in his 3rd G1 Climax tournament. In both his two previous tournaments (2016 and 2017) he finished with a 4W-5L record and 8pts.

With two matches remaining, Tonga currently has just 4pts. Despite his poor record thus far, it has been a memorable tournament for Tonga. Along with his stablemates in Bullet Club’s Firing Squad, Tonga has been interfering in matches frequently in contrast to what is normally seen in the annual heavyweight round-robin tournament.

His next match will be against Kenny Omega’s Golden Lovers’ teammate, Kota Ibushi. Tonga directed his most recent post-match comments towards his upcoming opponent.

“That’s nothing compared to what I’m going to do to you in Yokohama,” Tonga said in reference to the Firing Squad attack on the Golden Elite in San Francisco

Kenny Omega vs Kota Ibushi

Tama Tonga vs Kota Ibushi will be Tonga’s 2nd last match in the round-robin portion of the tournament. If he defeats Kota Ibushi and Toru Yano he’ll finish with 8pts as he has in previous tournaments.

In the opening moments their preliminary match yesterday against Ibushi and Yujiro Takahashi, Tonga and Tanga Loa offered Takahashi a spot in the Firing Squad. The brothers had previously said that had Takahashi not hesitated to join in the attack in San Francisco, he’d have been in the Firing Squad originally as well. Takahashi didn’t accept and the Guerillas attacked the two members of Bullet Club Elite from behind.

“Yujiro! What did we tell you?” Tanga Loa asked after the match. “We offered you another opportunity and you didn’t take it.”

“You should have been with us,” he continued. “You got what you deserved,” Tama Tonga added.

“Golden Lovers?” Tonga asked about his upcoming opponent’s tag-team. “This is wrestling, not a p*** flick.”

Big E and Becky Lynch Debate Pun-Related Gimmick Change

11

Becky Lynch enjoys puns. She’s made several comments and videos attesting to this fact.

Recently on Twitter, Lynch and New Day’s Big E discussed a possible pun-related gimmick change. This will not be for everybody.

“Been pitching @BeckyLynchWWE the Becky Lunch character for years. I haven’t really thought it through but it mostly consists of her wearing actual bologna and pizza rolls as ring gear.”

Becky Lynch – Brekkie Brunch

https://twitter.com/BeckyLynchWWE/status/1026310204173033472

“I’m not above this. I dare say I think Brekkie Lunch could replace the term ‘brunch'”

Things started getting worse.

“Eggsactly! I started scrambling up an idea but omelette you finish it.”

Big E and Becky Lynch at SummerSlam

Becky Lynch is already confirmed for SummerSlam this year while Big E has a chance to qualify for the Smackdown tag-team title match at the event on Tuesday.

Lynch will challenge Carmella for the Smackdown Women’s Championship at SummerSlam in a triple threat match. Charlotte Flair was added to the match after returning on Tuesday night and defeating Carmella in a non-title match.

Big E and New Day defeated Sanity recently on Smackdown to advance to the finals of a 4-man tournament. Smackdown GM, Paige, scheduled the tournament to determine who will challenge the Bludgeon Brothers at SummerSlam. New Day will face the Bar on Tuesday in the finals of the tournament.

Kenny Omega Calls Toru Yano The “Biggest Joke Of A Wrestler”

1

Following Kenny Omega’s last match in the G1, his undefeated streak had been ended and he was bleeding profusely from the mouth. Tomohiro Ishii defeated Omega Saturday, evening their all-time series at 2 wins each.

Omega still leads the B-Block with 12pts, a 6-1 record, and just two round-robin matches left to go.

He will face Ishii’s CHAOS stablemate, Toru Yano, on Wednesday. Following Omega’s preliminary tag-team match yesterday, he had the following to say to the members of CHAOS:

Kenny Omega vs Toru Yano

“We’re focussing more and more these days on being a G-rated product,” Omega said. “I’m doing my best to give you a profanity-less, a profanity-light promo, but it doesn’t help when you have guys like CHAOS members cheating every day.”

He would then move his attention to Toru Yano.

“Toru Yano, I’ll I have to do is beat you and once I beat you, I am pretty much guaranteed a slot in the G1 Finals. I can do it,” Omega continued. “I’ll I have to do is beat the biggest joke of a wrestler in the G1.”

Omega is the only person in the B-Block who controls his own fate. With two matches left, if Omega defeats Toru Yano and then Kota Ibushi, he wins the B-Block. Only Naito and Ibushi can catch Omega at this point. Omega holds the tie-breaker over Naito as a result of their match on the 2nd night of the tournament. Ibushi also holds the tie-breaker over Naito.

Omega and Yano have met each of the last two years in the G1 with Omega winning each time.

Brian Christopher’s Funeral

Brian Christopher’s funeral was held Friday in Memphis. Friends and family made a custom-made Pittsburgh Steelers/Grand Master Sexay casket for him.

His grave was also decorated in Steelers logos and a wagon of championship belts also was present at his funeral.

“This is gotta be one of the toughest days of my life and if I’ve heard it once, I’ve heard it a thousand times,” Lawler said on Friday. “They say the toughest thing for anybody to do is have to bury a child and that’s what we’re going through today.”

“My fiance Lauren and I are standing next to the casket and I keep looking down almost expecting Brian to sit up and start laughing,” Lawler continued. “It’s just tough.”

“Unfortunately, social media has become a very toxic place. People don’t know where to draw the line. It’s become more exhausting than productive to me.

“Some things in life are more important than “likes” and “followers.” I urge you to explore that. Deuces!”
