VIDEO: Triple H Addresses WWE Title Situation, Shield-Evolution, WWE Payback

23

The latest edition of Michael Cole’s sit-down interview series, which again features Triple H, has been added to the official YouTube channel of WWE.

In the latest installment, the WWE COO discusses the WWE World Heavyweight Championship situation with Daniel Bryan needing surgery, Kane’s recent attacks and the upcoming definitive confrontation between The Shield and Evolution at the WWE Payback pay-per-view on June 1st.

Hunter said “it remains to be seen” if The Authority swill vacate the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, but we’ll have a “definitive answer” on RAW, after Bryan’s neck surgery.  He then knocked Bryan for not being an “A-Plus Player” and questioned if these are “the kind of rigors that a little B-Plus Player like Daniel Bryan can withstand.”

Shawn Michaels Comments On Rumors Of Him Coming Out Of Retirement To Wrestle Daniel Bryan

28

WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels has commented on reports that WWE wanted him to come out of retirement for a match against his former student, Daniel Bryan.

The speculation began after last October’s Hell in a Cell pay-per-view when Michaels, who was serving as the guest referee in Daniel Bryan’s WWE Championship match against Randy Orton, cost Bryan the title. According to HBK, there were no plans for him t get back  in the ring.

On Jim Ross’ Ross Report podcast, Michaels said the topic would come up regularly whenever he would attend WWE shows, but not from high-ranking WWE officials. In the nearly 5 years since he officially retired, at no point has he given WWE any indication that he would wrestle again. Shawn added that proposed the angle on RAW where Daniel Bryan put him the Yes Lock to get revenge.

Part 2 of Shawn Michaels’ appearance on Jim Ross’ Ross Report podcast is now online and can be heard at PodcastOne.com.

9

– The dark main event that took place after last Tuesday night’s WWE SmackDown tapings from Greensboro saw John Cena and The Usos defeat The Wyatt Family. It was a very quick match, will John Cena and The Usos hitting their finishing moves on the Wyatt Family and all three men pinning Luke Harper.

– While the severity of Daniel Bryan’s neck injury is being downplayed backstage, some people are really concerned about what the doctors will see when Bryan goes in for surgery on Thursday morning.

61

The release date for the new WWE 2K15 video game has been pushed back. Instead of the usual October release, the new WWE video game is scheduled for an early 2015 release, likely in March, which would coincide with WrestleMania 31.

There hasn’t been a lot of details revealed about the specifics of the game, however there is rumors that a “My Career” mode will be replacing the “30 Years of WrestleMania” mode, which would feature the player of the game starting out in NXT and working their way up to the main roster, and ultimately to championship glory.

    – As previously reported, former WWE Superstar Chris Masters claimed in a recent interview that he feels Cesaro did not legitimately slam Big Show at WrestleMania XXX earlier this year. He claims Big Show jumped for him, and even went as far as to say if Cesaro can slam Big Show, he could press him over his head. Masters ended up taking a lot of backlash for his comments on Twitter, which finally led to him posting the following tweet:

  • Press Release: Canada To Host First Official Global Force Talent Search

    1

Global Force Wrestling issued the following on Wednesday:

    May 14, 2014

    PRESS RELEASE

CANADA TO HOST FIRST OFFICIAL GLOBAL FORCE TALENT SEARCH

NASHVILLE – Global Force Wrestling will hit the road for its first official talent search and seminar, which will take place on June 1 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

GFW CEO and founder Jeff Jarrett knows well the great tradition of pro wrestling in Canada and the number of top stars the country has produced. He and Owen Hart of the legendary Hart Family were WWE tag team champions, and several Canadian stars made names for themselves while in Jarrett’s TNA promotion.

The seminar also will reunite Jarrett with renowned pro wrestling trainer Scott D’Amore, who will help conduct the event at the North American Sports and Hobby Expo inside the WFCU Centre. D’Amore brought Team Canada to TNA, and he also trained such current indie wrestling superstars as Chris Sabin, Alex Shelley, Petey Williams, Rhino and Tyson Dux.

“Professional wrestling is part of the DNA of Canada,” Jarrett said. “It felt like a natural not only to have our first official talent search there but to have it under the tutelage of Scott D’Amore, a longtime friend and as knowledgeable as anyone when it comes to discovering and fostering talent.

“Coupled with our partnership with Mexico’s AAA promotion, this is another key step in establishing the reach of Global Force Wrestling.”

Jarrett and D’Amore will evaluate the wrestlers in attendance as they engage in brief matches and cut promos.

“It’s an honor to have Global Force Wrestling bring its first talent search to my hometown,” D’Amore said. “Jeff Jarrett is a third-generation promoter, and he knows what he wants. He’s going to have high expectations. I know he will be relentless in his pursuit in finding the best undiscovered talent in the world.”

Wrestlers interested in attending the seminar should check globalforcewrestling.com/seminar for complete details.

  • Harley Race Speaks On Confronting Hulk Hogan, His Last Conversation With Owen Hart

    3

The following are highlights of a new WGD Weekly interview with WWE Hall Of Famer Harley Race:

The incident at Starrcade ’83, where it was in question as to whether he would show up for his match with Ric Flair: “The thing on me not being there, it was all just a big rib to start with. I just wanted everyone there to think that I wasn’t going to be there, because at that point in time, there was a board of directors, and the board had thought it was time to make a rotation with the title, and I just wanted everyone there to believe that maybe I wasn’t going to be there…truthfully, I don’t know if I told Ric or not, you can ask him. I’m sure have at some point in time, I couldn’t let that little lie rest still after all these years.”

Confronting Hulk Hogan backstage at an event as the WWF made the move “across territory lines” in the mid 1980’s: “In confronting the Hulkster, he was the type of guy, that he was being paid to do what he did, and that is how he looked at it. He didn’t look at it as though he was running roughshod over everyone else out there. I confronted him about all that garbage. There was no push come to shove or anything. We never got into anything that far into it. Talent wise, he was as good as there was out there in that era…I was a wrestling style champion, and the Hulkster was a talking style. That was the two sides of it.”

Going to work for Vince McMahon and the WWF and how the “King” gimmick came about: “When it first came up, I thought the easiest way out of this was just for me to come up with an idea that was so far out in one direction or the other that Vince and his group wouldn’t go along with it. So, I said, I want to be the King, I want to come in and win a big tournament, and I want the crown, and then that’s how it turned, with that, how could you not go on with it.”

Owen Hart’s passing, and a conversation he had with him while he was working backstage at that event: “Who the god knew it would be my last conversation with Owen. With him it was always about talking about his father and what they did up there in the Winnipeg area and me coming in and out of there. The Hart Family is as good of a family as there ever was on the face of the earth and they’ve got a lot of kids that were involved in the wrestling part of it. It is just a horrible, horrible thing when stuff like that happens… He didn’t mention (being uncomfortable), that was the amazing part of it. It could’ve been me, it could’ve been anyone else. No one knows when the man up above wants to call your name.”

Becoming a manager in WCW: “I had been as high or higher than almost anyone I think, even still today. It sounds like I’m blowing smoke, you know where, but I had done everything feasibly possible to do in wrestling and to be able to take another guy like Vader or Luger or whoever and be able to help move them up to that top position, it just continued the Harley race version of wrestling. It kept it alive, it kept me alive.”

  • Christopher Daniels Talks About Leaving TNA, Backstage Morale, Global Force

    3

Former TNA star Christopher Daniels spoke to Aaron Oster of The Baltimore Sun this week about his TNA departure, backstage morale in TNA, if he’d be interested in working for Jeff Jarrett’s Global Force Wrestling promotion and more. Here are some highlights of what he said about:

When He Realized He’d Be Leaving TNA:  “I didn’t know until the day they told me. I went in to speak with TNA officials the last booking that I had, which was a taping of one of the One Night Only pay-per-views, on April 12. That was when I found out. I didn’t know before then. I kind of assumed, because Frankie [Kazarian] and I were still an entertaining tag team and our wrestling spoke for itself, I thought they were going to renew, but I was wrong.”

Negotiating With TNA: “I talked to them for the first time at Lockdown, and they told me that they wanted to speak to me face to face. I was then off television for a month, so the next time I got to talk to them was at that One Night Only pay-per-view. So I had no idea until then. They pretty much just told me that they were going in a different directions with different people.”

Does He Think TNA Would Bring Him Back? “The way it was explained to me, they said they wanted to leave the door open to do stuff in the future. But at this point, they couldn’t continue to keep me under contract if they weren’t going to use me as regularly as that. Who knows what will happen in the future? I’m not sure what their plans are. I had hoped there was going to be an opportunity for me and Frankie to wrestle the Wolves in a longer program, but that’s obviously not TNA’s priority at this point.”

TNA Locker Room Morale:  “It’s sort of a “wait-and-see” approach there, man. Every company makes decisions that may or may not be popular with the locker room, but you have to see how it turns out. And I think that’s what everyone is doing, waiting to see how everything lands and continue to put out the best product that they can once they see the lay of the land.”

Would He Work For Jeff Jarrett’s Global Force Wrestling? “I figure that anything that Jeff puts his mind to when it comes to creating a promotion has the potential to be very formidable in terms of the landscape of pro wrestling. Just look what he did with TNA. If he has the right people behind him when it comes to finances, then Jeff is creative enough to make something happen. So it’s definitely on my radar, just like I think it’s on everyone’s radar at this point. Everyone’s just waiting to see exactly what Global Force Wrestling is going to be. We have to see where it is, what it is, and who is going to be involved. Jeff is starting to answer slowly but surely.”

    Daniel Bryan: Hard Times

    53

The Yes! Movement received the worst possible news this week on Raw, as their unlikely hero announced that he will require neck surgery this Thursday and will be out of action for an indefinite amount of time.

Early reports indicate that Bryan has a broken neck and will be out for at least one to two months, with his possible returning coming at SummerSlam. This is terrible news for Bryan, who after a long journey finally captured the WWE Championship at WrestleMania.

It appears that he also will not be appearing on television in any capacity for at least a few weeks, as the attack later in the show by Kane was likely a way to write Bryan off of television while he recovers from surgery at home. This leads one to wonder about the future of the WWE Championship, and also if Bryan can maintain momentum while missing at least a month of time.

After finally overcoming the Authority at WrestleMania, Daniel Bryan will miss significant time due to injury.
After finally overcoming the Authority at WrestleMania, Daniel Bryan will miss significant time due to injury.

As of now, it is being reported that Bryan will not be stripped of the title. This could of course change at any moment, especially if the product becomes stale during his absence. If Bryan ends up missing the maximum amount of time, that seems like a very long time to go with essentially no champion.

In my opinion, if it is determined that Bryan will miss any more than one month, the Authority should strip him of the title. This could serve a few purposes. First, it would keep momentum strong by having the Authority still trying to hold Bryan down, especially with Stephanie McMahon being the storyline reason Bryan was injured in the first place after unleashing the demon Kane.

Second, it could allow for someone else to receive a push in Bryan’s absence. Imagine if a tournament were held for the WWE Championship similar to the one just held for an Intercontinental Title match. It could allow for a fresh face to hold the championship for a while and create interesting television over the next few weeks by having qualifying matches on Raw, with the championship match being held at Money in the Bank.

Backstage News On Daniel Bryan’s Status: Will WWE Strip Him Of The Title?

    111

As we exclusively reported at SESCOOPS.COM on Monday, Daniel Bryan will be undergoing surgery to repair a broken neck this coming Thursday.

Word coming out of RAW on Monday night is that Bryan will be out of action for six-to-eight weeks, with a potential return likely at Money In The Bank, or possibly SummerSlam, depending on how his recovery process goes.

With the six-to-eight week time frame, WWE is looking at keeping the title on Bryan. If the surgery and recovery process changes after he has the operation on Thursday, there is a possibility that WWE will strip him of the title.

It’s being said that at this point, plans are up in the air regarding Bryan and the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. We should know more regarding the situation after he has the neck operation on Thursday.
