TNA Knockout Taylor Wilde Announces She’s Retiring

7

Former TNA Knockouts champion Taylor Wilde has announced her retirement from pro wrestling Her final match will take place against Alissa Flash on 2/5 for Pro Wrestling Revolution in San Francisco, CA.

In an interview with the UK Sun, Wilde revealed that she has not met her own personal goals in the wrestling business and feels it is time to move on.

“I had a couple of months left on my contract, but I made a decision pretty much when I first started working for a major wrestling company (WWE) that wrestling is a wonderful job, it’s a lot of fun and you get to travel the world. In my early twenties it was very lucrative, but I told myself that when I was 25, if it was an industry I could see myself doing for the rest of my life I’d keep going, but otherwise it was time to hang up my boots.”

Wilde explained that she does not want to be stuck in the wrestling business forever without finishing her education and having other options to fall back on. She also talked about how there is a lot of pressure on female performers to look a certain way and their “shelf lives” are not as long as their male co-workers.

“As a female wrestler you are marketed to be cute, sexy, have a banging body and be full of life. You’re not so cute when you are 30, 35, 40. And that’s not a shot at older women. But as far as television goes, and what your body can take, our biological clocks are ticking. For most of us women we are marketed on our appearance, and that has a much shorter shelf life than any man in this industry.”

“I have to think about the rest of my life, the state of my body and my bank account.”

Wilde is currently studying psychology and said she’d consider wrestling again if “the right financial offer” came along, but not until after she finishes school.

Here are some pictures of the beautiful Taylor Wilde:

Preview For This Thursday’s “iMPACT!” – Karen Returns

12

The official TNA Wrestling website announced today that Jeff Jarrett plans to announce his departure from mixed martial arts competition this Thursday on iMPACT!, with his wife Karen by his side. The appearance marks Karen’s first appearance on TNA Wrestling programming since 2008.

Below is the official preview for this week’s show:

GENESIS UPDATE: JEFF JARRETT DROPS A BOMB ON KURT ANGLE FOR THURSDAY’S IMPACT ON SPIKE TV AT 9/8c

Perhaps the most startling news coming out of last night’s Genesis pay-per-view wasn’t that Jeff Jarrett planned to announce his departure from MMA competition, but that he would do so this Thursday night on iMPACT!, with his wife, Karen by his side.

Jarrett taunted his long time adversary Kurt Angle when he declared, “finally, the three of us are going to celebrate together”.

For those of you who are not aware, tensions between the two have been high for some time, to say the least, since Angle’s divorce from Karen in 2008 and her subsequent marriage to Jarrett last August. Thursday’s appearance marks Karen Jarrett’s return to TNA after a long absence. A former personal valet, who eventually had her own segment called “Karen’s Angle”, left the show in 2008.

There is no question sparks are gonna fly as Jarrett told Angle of his plans and that, “Karen was going to come to the iMPACT! Zone, whether he liked it or not”.

Don’t miss what promises to be a very “special” family reunion, this Thursday, January 13 at 9PM ET/8PM CT on Spike.

JR Blog: Batista & Jericho At WM27, Kofi’s IC Title Win & More

11

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has updated his blog, which you can read in its entirety at JRsBarBQ.com: Here are some highlights of what JR said about:

Kofi Kingston Winning the Intercontinental Championship:

“Congrats to Kofi Kingston on winning the IC Title. Kofi was on the cusp of something special when he had his issues with Randy Orton last year specifically their encounter at MSG which I thought was impactful. Let’s hope that Kofi gets right back on that roll. He’s a very athletic talent and a smart, educated individual.”

Whether He Is Still Writing A Book:

“No our book idea isn’t dead but we tabled it during the holidays as the decision makers in the book biz seemingly don’t work much after Thanksgiving through the end of the year. The project is still alive but I have to light a fire under my ample behind to get back in a creative mindset.”

Chris Jericho Or Batista Returning For WrestleMania:

“I do not know if either Chris Jericho or Dave Bautista will return to WWE for WM27. I’m not in that loop and don’t have a clue on the subject. Personally, I would be surprised if either returned for a special Wrestlemania appearance. Who knows?”

Four Titles Change Hands At TNA’s Genesis Pay-Per-view

4

Mr. Anderson became the new TNA World Heavyweight Champion tonight at Genesis, minutes after winning a No. 1 Contender’s Match against Matt Morgan.

Eric Bischoff informed Anderson following his victory over Morgan that he would have to immediately use his title shot against Jeff Hardy. The nine minute match, which featured interference from Bischoff, Matt Hardy, Rob Van Dam, Mick Foley and Ric Flair at various points, concluded with Anderson reversing Hardy’s Twist of Hate attempt and connecting with The Mic Check for the pinfall victory.

Earlier in the show, Beer Money, Inc. captured the TNA Tag Team Championship from The Motor City Machineguns while Abyss won the TNA Television Championship from Douglas Williams. Abyss substituted for AJ Styles in the TV Title match. Mike Tenay said over commentary that Styles is expected to be sidelined for four to six weeks due to a leg injury. Styles nonetheless appeared at the event as he limped ringside to hit Williams with the TNA Television Championshop, which opened an opportunity for Abyss to hit the Englishman with the Black Hole Slam and gain victory.

The pay-per-view opened with Kazarian defeating Jay Lethal to become the new TNA X Division Champion.

Injury Update On Styles, Dreamer Misses Genesis, TNA In NYC

2

— AJ Styles was forced to pull out of competing at tonight’s TNA Genesis pay-per-view due to injury. He said on his Twitter account that he tore his hip flexor and hip labrum. He promised to be back wrestling “real soon,” but will miss the company’s upcoming tour of the United Kingdom.

F4WOnline.com reports that he is expected to be sidelined for four to six weeks.

— Tommy Dreamer was not on hand for tonight’s Genesis, which is apparently the first television taping he’s missed since joining the organization in June. It’s considered a surprise that he missed the show because he’s been working as a producer and has been involved in all of the company’s production meetings in recent months.

— There are tentative plans for a TNA live event in New York City in March.
