The stars on top of the NXT Tag Team division will remain and that’s The War Raiders.
During Friday’s WWE NXT TakeOver: New York event, Rowe and Hanson successfully defended their titles against Aleister Black and Ricochet.
This was a predictable match considering that Black and Ricochet are not only working in NXT but also making the transition to working on the main roster – both Monday Night RAW and SmackDown Live.
Back at the WWE NXT TakeOver: Phoenix event over Royal Rumble weekend back in January, The War Raiders beat Kyle O’Reilly & Roderick Strong to win the NXT Tag Team Titles.
They put on one heck of a match that delivered and will be fun to see where it goes from here as there are some solid teams open for a feud in the NXT tag team division.
We should get an idea of what’s next for the champs as WWE holds NXT TV tapings on Wednesday, in Winter Park, Florida at Full Sail University where WWE will have the fallout from this event as well as this match. IT will also be interesting to see if Black and Ricochet work these tapings.
