Shayna Baszler Retains Women’s Title At WWE NXT TakeOver: Toronto II

Shayna Baszler remains NXT Women's Champion

As expected, Shayna Baszler’s reign on top of the WWE NXT women’s division as NXT Women’s Champion continues.

In her latest title defense, Baszler successfully retained the strap to remain as champion over Mia Yim at Saturday’s (August 10, 2019) WWE NXT TakeOver: Toronto II event in Toronto, Ontario at the Scotiabank Arena on the WWE Network.

It will be interesting to see where WWE goes from here as they put on one heck of a match that delivered.

This was a key match in the women’s division as Baszler has been a top champion since winning the title back at the Evolution pay-per-view event in Long Island, New York at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in October.

The next special for NXT comes during Survivor Series weekend with the NXT TakeOver: WarGames special on November 23, 2019 at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois.

WWE will reveal her opponent at this show in the coming months.

What are your thoughts on Shayna Baszler retaining the NXT Women’s Title? Was this the right call by WWE officials? Who do you want to see feud for the title in the division? Sound off in the comment section.
