Big Bill is leaving AEW and is expected to return to WWE, where he previously performed as Big Cass alongside Enzo Amore, according to Fightful Select.
Fightful Select reported earlier this year that Bill’s AEW contract was approaching expiration over the summer and has now confirmed his deal expires within the next week. Bill has also officially given his notice to AEW.
WWE plans also call for Enzo Amore to be signed by the company, though he had not been officially inked to a deal as of mid-June. Sources within WWE indicate the company wanted to wait until Big Bill was free and clear of his AEW obligations before signing both wrestlers, likely with an eye toward reuniting them as a tag team.
Bill first arrived in WWE as Colin Cassady before becoming known as Big Cass during his tag team run with Enzo Amore from 2013 to 2017. The duo won the NXT Year-End Award for Tag Team of the Year in 2015 and were called up to Raw together the day after WrestleMania 32.
Bill was released by WWE in June 2018 following a brief SmackDown run that included a feud with Daniel Bryan. He went on to compete in Impact Wrestling as W. Morrissey before signing with AEW in 2022, where he became a one-time AEW World Tag Team Champion alongside Ricky Starks.
