Amazing Red is not under contract with TNA Wrestling, the X-Division pioneer confirmed in a new interview with Chris Van Vliet, with his Hall of Fame induction now less than two months away.
Red said his Slammiversary appearance in June was only ever meant to be a single date, and that the Hall of Fame reveal caught him completely off guard.
“I am not. I am not. I was just gonna do a one-off … and got surprised with a Bound For Glory Hall of Fame,” Red said.
The Slammiversary Return
Red worked the Ultimate X match at Slammiversary on June 28 at Agganis Arena in Boston, his first TNA match since Destination X in 2011, which was also an Ultimate X bout.
Cedric Alexander (c) retained the TNA X-Division Championship in a field that also included Leon Slater, Frankie Kazarian, Fabian Aichner, Mr. Elegance and KC Navarro.
Kazarian took the microphone afterward and paid tribute to Red’s influence on the division before a video package closed with the Hall of Fame announcement. Red joins ODB and Konnan in the 2026 class.
Where This Leaves Bound For Glory
The ceremony is set for Bound for Glory on October 11 at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida. Red said he’s open to doing more with TNA, but wants the terms to work for both sides rather than rushing into a deal.
He also pushed back on the idea of being booked as the wrestler he was two decades ago, noting he isn’t the teenage high-flyer who helped define the X-Division anymore.
Red is a three-time X-Division Champion and also held tag team gold with Jerry Lynn during his first TNA run. He has spent recent years running House of Glory, the New York promotion he co-founded in 2012.
