Andrade El Idolo is headed for the sidelines. The AEW National Champion posted on Sunday that he had just landed back in Miami and went straight to a doctor, and that he expects to be out of action “for a few days or weeks.”
Andrade wrote that he hadn’t been feeling well since “the Wednesday after the Grand Slam,” but worked both Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling tapings in Canada anyway because, as he put it, he’s a professional. He called the issue “nothing serious” and said he’d keep fans updated.
He did not name a diagnosis, specify an injury, or give a return date. The post included a photo of gloved medical staff treating a wound on the back of his head, which Andrade didn’t explain or tie to a specific night.
What This Means For AEW All In
The timing is awkward. Andrade won the No. 1 entry in the men’s Casino Gauntlet at All In: London on the August 5 Dynamite from Arena Mexico, beating Komander and Tommaso Ciampa. That spot carries a guaranteed AEW World Championship shot for whoever survives the match.
Wembley Stadium is 21 days away. A few days out barely registers. A few weeks puts his availability for the biggest show on the AEW calendar in question, and he’s the one entrant the company has already confirmed by name.
MJF returned that same night in Mexico City to attack him, using his custom Triple B belt and the reclaimed Dynamite Diamond Ring before dumping Andrade off the ramp. MJF is booked in a qualifier for the No. 2 gauntlet spot on the August 12 episode of Dynamite.
Andrade also holds the AEW National Championship, which he won from Mark Davis at Redemption on July 26 for his first title in the promotion. AEW has not commented on his status.
