Andrade El Idolo brought his son to work this weekend, and the kid left with an opinion on his father’s next problem. The reigning AEW National Champion posted video from Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling’s TV tapings in Windsor, Ontario showing him walking his young son through hurricanranas and armdrags inside an empty MLP ring.
Andrade wrote that his son asked him to “teach me something,” and that the boy hit the move cleanly on the second attempt.
Andrade closed the post by relaying his son’s other piece of advice, staying firmly in character: “También me dijo chingate a MJF.” Loosely, go mess MJF up.
Andrade And MJF Are On A Collision Course For Wembley
The timing isn’t accidental. MJF returned on the August 5 episode of Dynamite from Arena Mexico, ambushing Andrade moments after he beat Komander and Tommaso Ciampa to earn the No. 1 entry in the Casino Gauntlet at All In: London.
MJF used his custom “Triple B” title belt as a weapon before reclaiming the Dynamite Diamond Ring that Andrade had been carrying, then dumped him off the ramp. He is scheduled to compete for the No. 2 Casino Gauntlet spot on the August 12 edition of Dynamite, which would put both men in the same match at Wembley Stadium on August 30.
Andrade’s Maple Leaf Pro appearance marked his debut for Scott D’Amore’s promotion, with a match against TJP announced for the two-night taping block on August 7 and August 8. Episodes of MLP Mayhem air weekly on TSN2 in Canada.
Andrade has since said he’ll be out of action for days or weeks, revealing that he worked the Canada shows despite not feeling well.
