The Sammy Guevara exit rumors can be put to bed. He’s still signed to AEW.
After a wave of speculation about the Spanish God’s future, Bryan Alvarez clarified the situation on Wrestling Observer Radio, shooting down the idea that anything has changed with his standing in the company and that he is still under contract.
The speculation had been fueled by a social media post in which Guevara announced a “new bio,” with fans noticing AEW was nowhere to be found in it. As Alvarez explained, that detail never held up.
Guevara, one of AEW’s original Four Pillars and a three-time TNT Champion, has been used sparingly on AEW television in 2026, with his last Dynamite match coming in January against Darby Allin. He remains the reigning ROH World Tag Team Champion. Alvarez had previously reported that Guevara’s wife, Tay Melo, requested her release last year and was denied.
